NOT a religious issue

When I first saw the headline to this article it struck me as odd. So a PRIVATE individual, put a cross on her property--whatever floats her boat. BUT 25 feet tall with "blood stains" be a bit much. It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out since it is not a church/state issue, but a local zoning issue.

Simply put, I pity the local zoning board because I think they are going to be in a pickle no matter how they rule. Have to remember that it comes down to what laws are currently on-the-books. This is not a religious issue so don't make it one.

My only question, how long has this cross been in her yard? Is it a recent addition or has it been there for some time? And why the front yard? Simple solution make it smaller (thereby negating the zoning issues if size alone is the problem) or move it to the privacy of her back yard where she can still, "express her devotion to her Catholic faith"
"I don't understand what my neighbors are so upset about," the 72-year-old told the newspaper. "This cross isn't hurting anyone."
Maybe it's an eyesore bringing unwarranted attention to the neighborhood that is unwelcome. Just a guess on my part.
