Huh??

I have been looking at this picture for over a month now, and yes it is still posted on the church's sign. I wanted something witty and smart assed to say about it but have come up empty. My opinion, it makes no fucking sense. So, I am employing a different tact--

Using my handy dandy little dictionary and a bit of brain power, this is what I have come up with.

My literal translation:

Be on guard against causing anger, resentment or displeasure for they may cause a structure that serves as an enclosure, a barrier, or a boundary, usually made of posts or stakes joined together by boards, wire, or rails.

What I think they were attempting to say:

Be on guard against causing anger, resentment or displeasure for they may separate and hold us apart.

Why or why do people insist on forcing words to mean something they don't!!
