2 women killed on suspicion of witchcraft - The Times of India

I find it very sad that in the 21st century people are still being persecuted and killed for witchcraft. The idiocy of blind faith is appalling,,,

RAIPUR: Three youths were arrested on Wednesday for killing two middle-aged women accusing them of being 'tonhi' (women who practice witchcraft) at Maluatoli village near Kusmi in Balrampur district in North Chhattisgarh.

Bodies of women with their throats slit were found at the village on Tuesday following which, the police registered a case and later arrested three youths suspected to have murdered the women.

Talking to TOI, assistant sub-inspector, S R Porse, Kusmi police station said, "During interrogation, the accused admitted that they had questioned those women about their involvement in witchcraft practices, but they refused to speak. This infuriated the boys who first strangled them and later slit their throat," Porse said.
