Russian actor wants to burn all gays in furnaces by himself | Queerussia.Info

There is a saying penned by George Santayana in 1905 that goes like this, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." One would have to be totally ignorant (or a complete denialist) to not realize that the world has been down this road before in one form or another. Pick up any history book, it is replete with examples. But what gulls me in regards to a statement such as "I myself would shove all live gays into furnace," is the common retort "not all Christians are like that." (Or "s/he is a fringe extremist, I don't think like that." Or my favorite, "that's not what Christ taught, and I follow HIS teachings.") Excuse me but your silence is deafening!

The problem with those responses as I see it, those that remain silent on the issue condone it. All religions (though I am focused primarily on Christianity) and their followers, embrace an irrational thought pattern that (their) religion isn't bad . That it is man that fouls the original canon with greed and cruelty. Sorry to disagree, but unless you want to throw out the principles of inerrancy, infallibility, and inspiration of Scripture, Christianity has a basis in a holy book that condones slavery, genocide, and execution of gay people.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came up out of Egypt. Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey. (1Samuel 15:2-3)

But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 20:16–18)

No matter how you want to squirm and worm your way out, the Bible does condone this brutality and Christianity teaches it. To say otherwise is utter bullshit when you have apologists like William Lane Craig debating the finer points of Divine Command Theory as justification for the debauchery that is in the Bible. It is no wonder the comments made by Okhlobystin, a former priest within the Russian Orthodox Church are accepted without any thought by the sheeple he leads; and lead he does at $76 a head. By not condemning him outright, this remaining silent is what makes this kind of atrocious ideology possible.
During Novosibirsk tour “Spiritual talks” on December, 8 Russian actor Ivan Okhlobystin, 47, made several harsh homophobic remarks while fully packed venue greeted them with applause.

Okhlobystin said: “I myself would shove all live gays into furnace. This is Sodom and Gomorrah, I as a beliver in God can not treat this indifferently, this is a live threat to my kids!… I do not want my kids to think that faggots are normal. This is lavender fascism. If a person can not choose someone of an opposite sex for procreation – this is a overt sign of mental abnormality, so they should be denied of voting rights”, NGS NEWS reports.
