Authorities are investigating the shooting deaths of a Burwell man and his 2-year-old daughter as a murder-suicide.
Officers found the bodies of Christopher Melling, 31, and Aimee Melling Tuesday afternoon after going to the house to check on them because neighbors were worried, Garfield County Attorney Dale C. Crandall said in a news release.
Aimee would have been 3 later this month, he said.
