I have written about Swanson before, Buehner is new to me. Both seem to have a want and need for killing LGBT individuals, which to me is a sign of a hidden secret; some self-loathing. That aside, what is disturbing to me, is not so much that he said what he did, that is to be expected, he is a religious freak, but the utter disregard for human life. You see 20 years ago in Humboldt, Nebraska this mentality was very prevalent and resulted in the brutal murder of 3 young people. One of whom was Brandon Teena.
Though much has changed since December 31, 1993 much has not: "Conservatives are foaming at the mouth for the day when they can use the federal government as a tool to persecute gay people. “Christian” radio host Bryan Fischer recently praised Russia for how that nation treats homosexuals. In fact, he thinks America should copy Russia. In addition, Pat Buchanan and several right-wing anti-gay groups also believe that Russian policies should be adopted by America. Bottom line: right-wingers want America to be just like Russia, Constitution be damned."
Let's not allow the memory of Brandon Teena or Matthew Shepard lay in vain. By remaining silent you are condoning this hatred!!
