A California-based legal organization is reporting a marked increase in hostility toward Christian students in public schools. The article then delves into some alleged incidents of "bullying" by teachers and administrators,,,
“We have seen a dramatic increase of phone calls nationwide as it pertains to kids in public schools who are facing hostility because of their faith,” General Counsel Bob Tyler of Advocates for Faith and Freedom told Christian News Network.
But Tyler said that the upswing in incident reports do not pertain to bullying from other students, but rather mistreatment by school officials.
“[The reports all surround] hostility from teachers and school administrators who are curtailing the students’ free speech rights simply because they’re Christians and they might express a Christian worldview,” he stated.
The issue or issues, the first story I can't find any reference to in any media. You would think if mom was that outraged, the media would have been notified or the story "leaked;" especially with such a bold statement allegedly being made by the teacher. "We atheists laugh at you Christians. No one will believe in God [in 50 years] because science has proven that there is no God."
The second instance:
Yet another student, also a first grader, was prevented from giving a religious presentation in class and was immediately interrupted when her teacher realized that the girl was referencing the Bible. What I find so disgusting in this instance, Tyler KNEW the school district had spoken with the parents and was investigating this alleged incident but the Reich had to rile the troops over a fake controversy in order to play the victim. And to be clear, this incident was not pushed under the rug as some seem to insinuate.
“The teacher said, ‘Stop right there. You cannot talk about the Bible in school,’” he explained. “And for her, … all of a sudden you feel like you’re in trouble because of what just happened.”
When I met with the parent on December 20, 2013, she shared that she and her husband were upset that their child was unable to finish her presentation and that they thought it was because it contained a Bible verse. There were absolutely no claims of humiliation or bullying by the classroom teacher. No claims that their child was told to take her seat or that she could not talk about the Bible. These claims have been made in the midst of a media spotlight in order to sensationalize a story,,,
Furthermore, when I met with this parent I never told her that her child may not share her beliefs aloud to other students nor did I try to stifle her freedom of speech in any way. I told the parent that I would follow up with the classroom teacher, and I sent her the results of my findings along with the copy of the board policy regarding religion on December 24th, 2013. I have not heard from her since. Not once to tell me that she did not agree with my findings, not once to ask for a classroom change for her child. In fact, with the exception of today, this student has attended school every day since this incident, in the same exact classroom where this alleged incident occurred. This is how the article ends,,,
“We need to set legal precedent because there’s not much legal precedent that has been established to tell school teachers and school officials that they must not show hostility toward Christianity,” he said.
Can I say he is a bold faced liar? And I should have known Todd Starnes was behind this!!
