Police chief: Sex abuse case against Muscle Shoals children's minister 'a tragedy,' more charges pending | AL.com

Additional charges will be filed against a Muscle Shoals children's minister accused in multiple sex abuse cases in which the victims are being called "heroes" for speaking out.

In a press conference shown live on the WAFF 48 News website this morning, Muscle Shoals Police Chief Robert Evans said investigators are continuing to interview victims and witnesses and cataloging evidence and "additional charges are forthcoming." He did not give details.

Jeffrey Dale Eddie, 41, known as "Brother Jeff" to congregants, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of child pornography, 31 counts of second-degree sodomy, and three counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. He is being held in Colbert County Jail on $1 million bond. Eddie is married and has two sons. Court records show his wife, Melissa, filed for divorce Monday.
