In 1983 when Cameron was booted by the APA, I was in college. Not yet a psychology major, as I hadn't dumped religion quite yet, but on my second "introductory" class; his case came up in discussion (I don't remember whether my professor was pro or con). To see that he still has "some" influence after 20+ years of quackery, scares the bejebus out of me. To be able to influence domestic policy and the policies of foreign nations to the point of now "suggesting" a death sentence is beyond me.

You may remember Cameron for this debunked lie about the supposed health risks of homosexuality: how gay men, on average, live only half as long as their heterosexual counterparts. Or his 2012 appearance on Crosstalk with Jim Schneider of VCY America (Voice of Christian Youth) where he made the claim that "the long term goal of the homosexual movement is to get every little boy to grab his ankles and every little girl to give it a try."

This is one of the interviews you just shake your head at and wonder how an individual can be so vitriolic and yet glib at the same time. A point that BuzzFeed alludes to with this statement, "At issue is not just that he disagrees with mainstream scientific positions on whether homosexuality is immutable or a mental illness, but the way he allegedly manipulates statistics to bolster anti-gay arguments. He and Mark Regnerus need to get together for coffee sometime (if they haven't).

Many of the usual canards, such as equating homosexuality with pedophilia are present
