Former youth pastor convicted of sexually assaulting girl - KAIT-Jonesboro, AR-News, weather, sports

A former youth pastor and daycare worker has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

Scott Ellington, prosecuting attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas, announced Thursday that a Crittenden County jury convicted Arnold Lamont Parks of sexually assaulting a minor child.

The assault happened last August while the child was spending the night in Parks' home in Marion, Ellington said.

During the investigation, Ellington said Parks went to the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department and said "he had something to get off his chest."
