A few thoughts,,,
1] "Lea’s sermon really, really touched me yesterday but God never told me to stop."
What did she expect, Hermes to come down and tell her to chill,,,
2] "Lucas told Ethan his pill would make him grow faster, so he took his with coffee."
If Lucas truly believed this was God's will, that she was moved by the sermon, why the subterfuge? Why give the children pills? Lucas if she believed, would have told them the truth, That God was testing her, "God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together." Also what is lost on Lucas in regards to Gen 22, Isaac was the beloved son, the son "whom thou lovest " not some pawns in a dissolution of a relationship. This was revenge plain and simple.
3] I would say after a quick reading of the available information that this is a clear case of Christian persecution. Jailing and prosecution Lucas is a violation of her religious freedom as guaranteed by the First Amendment. How can we as mere mortals sit in judgement of God's mysterious ways?

Welcome to H&C,,, where I aggregate news of interest. Primary topics include abuse with "the church", LGBTQI+ issues, cults - including anti-vaxxers, and the Dominionist and Theocratic movements. Also of concern is the anti-science movement with interest in those that promote garbage like homeopathy, chiropractic and the like. I am an atheist and anti-theist who believes religious mythos must be die and a strong supporter of SOCAS.
