Ted Cruz needs to make up his mind, States' Rights or no States' Rights, changing his mind when the mood or issue suits his pandering to the powers that be is pathetic. His hyperbolic indignation is so wishy-washy one needs to bring the flip-flops to wade through it.Five months ago Cruz was appalled at the possibility of an Constitutional Amendment that would bring some sanity back into our political system. What I am referring to is Cruz's hyperbole surrounding the proposed S.J. Res. 19 which was in response to Citizens United/McCutcheon and would have, if enacted, regulated the amount corporations and wealthy individuals can spend [and raise] to support and oppose candidates. It would restore to Congress and the STATES the ability to set limits on election spending.
Cruz has been a full on imbecile in regards to S.J. Res. 19, going so far as stating it is an effort to repeal the First Amendment, silence pastors and imprison old ladies, all to prevent a Constitutional Amendment. But now because the issue has changed to marriage equality Cruz himself is proposing to amend the Constitution and thereby eliminating a State's right to define marriage.
“By refusing to rule if the States can define marriage, the Supreme Court is abdicating its duty to uphold the Constitution. The fact that the Supreme Court Justices, without providing any explanation whatsoever, have permitted lower courts to strike down so many state marriage laws is astonishing,” he said in a statement.So which is it Teddy boy, are you for States' Rights or not?
