Still playing catch up

Conservative Outlet Wonders Why 'Unedited' Klingenschmitt Seems 'Certifiable'
The John Birch Society’s magazine, the New American, covered Gordon Klingenschmitt’s victory in a Colorado state legislative election this week, praising the internet televangelist for standing up to “Right Wing Watch (RWW), the vicious political action arm of the Leftist organization People for the American Way.”

Klingenschmitt temporarily shut down RWW’s YouTube account last year by filing bogus copyright claims against video clips we had posted of him saying various outrageous things. All of our videos were protected by Fair Use, and all were eventually restored. The New American cited Klingenschmitt’s failed attempt to terminate RWW’s YouTube page, along with his demand that gay people receive security screenings before meeting with him, as reasons to commend Klingenschmitt.

The outlet also said that the titles we used for “unedited” clips of Klingenschmitt “were designed to make Klingenschmitt appear radical if not certifiable.”

Or, maybe it is what Klingenschmitt says in these unedited videos (and emails) that make him seem completely insane.
Meet Cathi Herrod, Arizona’s Extreme Anti-LGBT “Legislative Terrorist”
An NBC affiliate in Arizona aired a softball interview with Cathi Herrod, the state’s leading anti-LGBT culture warrior. But while the segment depicted Herrod as a victimized Christian activist, it ignored her history of peddling extreme smears about the LGBT community while fighting against basic legal protections for gays and lesbians.
[,,,]
Herrod has served as the president of the Center for Arizona Policy since 2006, though she joined the organization as its legal counsel years earlier. The group wields significant influence in the Arizona legislature, and has helped enact over a hundred pieces of legislation. And under Herrod’s leadership, the group has adopted a number of extreme anti-LGBT positions.
,,,
Herrod was widely criticized for her 2012 efforts to defeat legislation that would encourage schools to combat bullying. SB 1462 would have expanded penalties for school bullying and clarified schools’ responsibilities for handling and stopping bullying.
,,,
Herrod’s work at CAP became a national news story in 2014 during the debate over Arizona’s proposed license-to-discriminate law. SB 1062, which CAP helped craft along with theAlliance Defending Freedom (ADF), would have protected business who use their religious beliefs to justify refusing service to gay customers.

Mike Huckabee Tour Heeds Warning That America Is Turning Into Nazi Germany
Mike Huckabee is currently leading dozens of conservative pastors through the U.S. and Europe on a junket he’s calling “Mike Huckabee’s Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul II Tour.” On Friday, the group stopped at Auschwitz and Birkenau, where a speaker inevitably compared today’s America to Nazi Germany.

Huckabee, who has repeatedly warned that the U.S. is transforming into Nazi Germany, invited Kitty Werthmann of Eagle Forum to discuss her experience living in Austria during the Nazi takeover.

Werthmann frequently travels the country speaking about what she sees as similarities between President Obama and Adolf Hitler, warning that Obama is ushering in Nazi-style tyranny and urging people to stock up on guns: “Keep your guns and buy more guns.” She also believes that Obama and Mexican immigrants are planning a Marxist “revolution” and told one Tea Party group, “I heard President Obama say anybody who is criticizing him, report it to the White House, the snitch program, so be careful what you say.”

She offered a similar message to Huckabee’s tour group, according to the Christian Post, which also drew a comparison between Nazi Germany and the IRS and a Houston court case involving a LGBT nondiscrimination ordinance.

Another Religious Right leader who believes the U.S. is heading towards Nazism, David Lane, also addressed the group.
Staver: Like Nazi Germany, America Will Fall If It Does Not Support Israel
"Egypt, the most powerful nation on the planet, that regime of the Pharaohs is gone," Staver asserted. "Now the land of Egypt is still there but the government that was in existence is gone. Israel still exists as an identifiable nation, the language is still there. Babylon, that most powerful nation on the planet, stood against Israel. Babylon is gone, [it's now] modern day Iraq or Baghdad. The Persian government that went against Israel to some extent but also then helped Israel to go back and rebuild the temple, it's gone. It's modern day Iran. You go through year after year, decade after decade, century after century, the Nazi Germany machine, becoming the most powerful government on the planet. The Nazi German machine is gone."

"America needs to stand with Israel," Staver concluded, "because there's been one constant through history, through millennia of human history, and that is Israel has existed no matter the opposition it's faced":
Religious Right Activist Wants An Anti-Gay 'Uprising' If SCOTUS Rules For Marriage Equality
Phil Burress, head of the Ohio-based Citizens for Community Values, thinks that the American people will revolt if the Supreme Court makes a sweeping ruling in favor of marriage equality.

Speaking over the weekend with Mission America’s Linda Harvey, Burress said he feared that the Supreme Court “will force same-sex marriage on all fifty states,” adding that “the nation is not going to stand for this.”

Burress added that in the event of such a ruling anti-gay activists will be forced to reorganize and launch a new campaign to amend the Constitution: “I really believe if the Supreme Court was to rule the wrong way, I think you’re going to see an uprising and a demand for a constitutional amendment that takes this matter out of the hands of the courts and puts it back into the states.”

[,,,]
He claimed that marriage equality is losing support among voters: “The reason they are losing support is because people are understanding this is not about same-sex marriage or same-sex unions anymore, it’s about persecution, it’s about suing people, it’s about forcing people to comply with what they want or else we’re going to put you out of business and if you don’t comply then we’ll put you in jail.”
The crucifixion of Pastor Scott Lively
Christians, pastors, take heed. In case you haven’t noticed, times are a-changin’. Whether at home or abroad, if you follow God’s command to speak biblical truth in all things, most especially, it seems, on matters of sex and sexuality, you will be persecuted.

“A servant is not greater than his master.”

I don’t presume to compare my friend Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries to Jesus Christ. None of us can compare, even remotely, to the one and only God-man – to the Lord of the universe and exclusive path to eternal salvation. That said, Pastor Lively is one of the most “Christ-like” people I’ve had the honor to know.

As did Christ, Scott Lively speaks absolute truth, in absolute love, with absolutely no fear of personal destruction or even death. He loves everyone, whether friend or foe, Christian or pagan, straight or “gay.”
Donnie Swaggart Says That Gay Rights Activists Would Love To Behead Christians
And now "we" are be compared to ISIS. I really wish they would make up my mind as to whether I am a Nazi or a member of ISIS. I'm so confused.
_
During the show, Swaggart asserted that, like ISIS, gay rights activists in America would publicly behead Christians if they could get away with it.

"All of this is to shut the Bible up," Swaggart declared. "They want the Bible gone. And I'm going to make a statement: These people that are trying to do this in Houston, the only difference between them and ISIS, those thugs in Iraq, is those here cannot chop our heads off. That's the only difference. The heart is the same. The heart is the same. If they could silence us that way to intimidate others, that's exactly what they would do":
Jim Garlow: Religious 'Onslaught' Needed To Fight 'Demonic' Gay Marriage
“The attack on marriage is global,” Garlow told Perkins, who was broadcasting his “Washington Watch” program live from the Vatican. “I believe it’s clearly demonic.”

Garlow, the California pastor who helped orchestrate the Proposition 8 campaign, then called for “an onslaught of people who come together of very different values” to defend marriage from Satan, repeating his frequent refrain that if he were Satan he would “want to destroy marriage” by allowing gay couples to wed.
