A major US LGBT donor, who helped create a number of influential gay rights organizations, appeared in court yesterday (3 December) and pleaded not guilty to having sex with a minor.
Last month Terrence P. Bean was accused of having a 2013 September sexual encounter with a 15-year-old boy.
Authorities clam Bean and his former boyfriend, Kiah L. Lawson, used the iPhone dating app Grindr to set up a meeting with the unnamed Eugene, Oregon minor
Both men face two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of sexual abuse. Lawson, who helped authorities find the teenager, also pleaded not guilty.
According to The Oregonian, Bean appeared in Lane County Circuit Court.
His attorney issued a statement, maintaining her client's innocence and making unspecified allegations about the co-defendant.
