A religious sect called "Faith Assembly" was led by a faith-healing preacher and gained a large following in Noble County, and the surrounding area, in the 70's and 80's.
Members say about 100 people died, many of them children, due to the lack of medical care.
Members in a faith healing community, pray for healing...and believe it's going against god to receive any form of medical attention.
"The church taught that if you did go to a doctor or hospital or take an aspirin, that you could get a demon. It was even scary as a little kid. I was very scared, terrified of the idea of being forced to go to a doctor or hospital, because I didn't want to catch any demons."
The church was formed by Hobart Freeman. Joshua Wilson's father was a pastor in this church.

Wilson is currently working to create a documentary. If you would like more information about his project, you can click on this link: http://www.childrenoffaithassembly.com/
Faith Healing? Members Die Without Modern Medicine - FortWayneHomepage.net powered by WFFT Local
Welcome to H&C,,, where I aggregate news of interest. Primary topics include abuse with "the church", LGBTQI+ issues, cults - including anti-vaxxers, and the Dominionist and Theocratic movements. Also of concern is the anti-science movement with interest in those that promote garbage like homeopathy, chiropractic and the like. I am an atheist and anti-theist who believes religious mythos must be die and a strong supporter of SOCAS.
