101 arrested in child sex, prostitution sting | Lake, Polk counties

A good example that abuse of power in regards to acceptable actions towards children knows no bounds. Those that commit sex crimes against children get themselves in trusted positions to abuse children.  Although I personally am not convinced that "religion" is not one of the root causes; it seems that it is a justification after the fact.  Or, should I say it appears to be in regards to media presentation.

I struggle with this, as I am well aware my hatred of all things "religious" clouds my view.  I struggle because if one looks at the shear numbers, sex crimes within "the church" is a not so hidden secret any longer.  That is a good thing but it leaves me with a bitter taste of where to place the blame; if, blame can be placed. I know that getting rid of religion won't get rid of these cretins as they will continue to find ways to get to children.  It is for this reason I loathe to point out just one article  focused upon by the aforementioned media.  From MyFox Orlando:
Investigators said each suspect showed up at a house in Lake County thinking they were about to have sex with a child between the ages of 10 and 14 years old.  Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd was particularly disturbed by Jeff Conrad's arrest.

"He traveled to have sex with a 14-year-old child.  He had access to kids because, as he said, he was a Disney employee working at Magic Kingdom," Sheriff Judd told a crowd of reporters.

He's not the only theme park employee.  Sheriff Judd says Ryan Mayer worked at SeaWorld Orlando and Tomas Adames worked at Universal Orlando.

"Lets get this right. You're engaged to be married and you travel to have sex with a 14-year-old child, and he told us he works at Universal Studios in Orlando," Sheriff Judd said about Adames arrest.

It is possible that these depraved individuals enter religious fields to try to suppress some of the things they are feeling. I won't deny that is a legitimate possibility (actually I can't deny that, as I have seen it within my own extended family).  In fact, I think that it is a very likely reason some of these people end up in positions of power in a religious group.  But, if anything, we have another reminder that, simply because someone claims to be holy, they should not be assumed to be trustworthy.
Many of the people arrested had jobs working with children, including theme park workers at Universal Orlando and SeaWorld, and a former Walt Disney World cast member who left that job before his arrest.

SeaWorld also said the men charged were no longer employed at the theme park.

"These are very dangerous people and they are after our children," said Grady Judd of the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

There were two phases of the operation: During the first week, investigators say, 22 people traveled to Clermont thinking they were going to have sex with a child between ages 10 and 14.

Seventy-nine others were arrested on charges connected to prostitution.

Ahmed Saleem, a Muslim youth coordinator, was also one of the men arrested. Investigators said the men all traveled to a home in Clermont with the hopes of having sex with a child.

The car Saleem traveled in had a license plate that said, "Invest in children," according to investigators.

Saleem is also the founder of the Saleem Academy, an organization empowering Muslim youth globally and also served as the Orlando coordinator for CAIR, the Counsel On Islamic American Relations.

"He's well known as a community outreach leader interacting with teens in and around the Orlando area," said Judd.
