The mission statement for Global Ministries Foundation is:
“To multiply Gospel centered missions, mentoring, and monies around the globe, for the glory of God and the eternal welfare of mankind.”Apparently, multiplying the “monies” depends on rent and subsidies of low-income housing. And, clearly, this organization cares far more about the “eternal welfare” of their tenants than the “here and now welfare” of these families and the children growing up in the rat infested apartments provided by the group. What tenants don’t get in quality of a home, they receive in evangelism. The foundation has programs for these low-income housing complexes that include evangelistic block parties, vacation Bible school on property and even performing baptisms in the apartment complex pools.
But, not to fear, CEO Richard Hamlet is taking care of his own personal welfare – no problem – although his “eternal welfare” may be at risk after these discoveries. Tax records show that Hamlet collects a salary of $485,00 from the non-profit. The evangelical Christian organization owns 60 apartment complexes in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee — totaling more than 10,000 apartments and single-family homes. The non-profit low-income housing foundation has collected approximately $61 million in 2014 from HUD subsidies, in addition to the actual rent they charge their tenants, based upon their income.
