Colorado State Representative Gordon Klingenschmitt, a man who once attempted a long-distance exorcism of President Obama’s black and evil soul, has a “new friend” — one who happens to be an American child molestor. While Klingenschmitt spends a considerable amount of time furthering the asinine and hateful right-wing assertions that gay people are all child molesters who should be “drowned,” he sure had no problem embracing a man whose hobbies include having sex with children, when it suited his purpose.

In July, on Klingenschmitt’s Pray In Jesus’ Name show,  where we have learned that granting equal marriage rights to the LGBT community will bring the “criminalization of Christianity,”  that gay Boy Scouts’ leaders are “untrustworthy men who have a fetish for young boys,”  and that gay men wear diapers because all the homosex tears up their insidey parts, we were treated to a Klingenschmitt-branded dose of hypocrisy.

David Dorty, a conservative political activist with the American Conservatives of Color was supposed to be Klingenschmitt’s token black friend. Unfortunately for the bigoted, demon-believing legislator, the man Klingenschmitt called his “new friend” also enjoys doing exactly what Klingenschmitt accuses all gay people, any time, anywhere, of doing: imposing himself sexually on children.

Dorty has been convicted — twice — of sexually assaulting a child, once by a person in a position of trust, The Gazette reports.

Dorty and his conservative supporters claim that all his past crimes have been invalidated and forgiven by the all-absolving power of Jesus’ love, or something.
