Ohio Man Fired After Lesbian Co-Worker Complains He's Proselytizing At Work - The New Civil Rights Movement

In dealing with workplace harassment, no matter what kind, there is an old saying, "Once the line has been drawn, do not cross it."  Rouston made the mistake of crossing that line, giving his employer no choice.  Workplace harassment guidelines can be some of the most strict guidelines, even more than OSHA, with some companies going further than DOL standards.

Chris is one of those "I don't hate homosexuals, I think it's an act of love to tell them they're going to hell," type of guys. And during that last week to which Chris is referring, he made the mistake of pulling his holier-than-thou act on a lesbian coworker. Chris friended her on Facebook, and sent her the anti-gay movie, Audacity to watch. (You may recall that was also the movie anti-gay baker from Melissa Sweet Cakes sent to LGBT organizations after the judgment against them. In the accompanying note, Melissa wrote the gift was to show they, like Chris, don't hate gays.)

Chris' coworker complained to her supervisor that Chris was violating workplace harrassment laws. Management agreed and warned Chris to keep his religion to himself. If he had done that, he would still have a job. But keeping his mouth shut turned out to be an impossible task for Chris. Two days later, he discussed his side of the situation with another lesbian coworker, telling her:

"Every new person I meet I want to share the gospel with them and if they still want to be my friend then I have gained a friend."

And here's the kicker, Cain TV reports that after being warned by his bosses to lay off, Chris also recommended Audacity to her.

Unfortunately for Chris, rather than enlisting her as an ally, she too complained, saying Chris and his constant Christian babble made her "uncomfortable." After the second complaint, Chris was sent home. His thirteen year history of annoying proselytizing rained down on his head.

He was fired the next day.
