Chippewa County Pastor Sex Crimes Trial Begins, Alleged Victim T - Northern Michigan's News Leader


9 & 10 News was in a Chippewa County courtroom Wednesday for the start of a sex crimes case against an Upper Peninsula pastor.

Jonas Moses Jr. is accused of sex crimes against teenagers.

Wednesday an alleged victim testified saying he inappropriately touched her.

Moses was arrested in September in Wisconsin.

Investigators say he committed several sex crimes against young teens in Sault Ste. Marie.

Moses was the pastor of the Anishnabe Baptist Church.

Another prominent figure at the church, Steven Alexander pleaded guilty to sex crimes in January.
He has been sentenced to at least 45 years in prison.
