A former youth minister at a Conway church is accused of sexually
assaulting four teenage girls and turned himself in to police Wednesday
evening.
Horry County police charged
64-year-old Norman Abernathy, of Conway, with two counts of third-degree
criminal sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of second-degree
assault and battery, online records show.
According to an incident report, a
pastor at Langston Baptist Church reported the assaults to police in
June. He told officers Abernathy was a youth minister at the church
until he resigned last month after the allegations came to light.

Welcome to H&C,,, where I aggregate news of interest. Primary topics include abuse with "the church", LGBTQI+ issues, cults - including anti-vaxxers, and the Dominionist and Theocratic movements. Also of concern is the anti-science movement with interest in those that promote garbage like homeopathy, chiropractic and the like. I am an atheist and anti-theist who believes religious mythos must be die and a strong supporter of SOCAS.
