There must be a means that creeps such as these can be red-flagged. And yes, I am well aware that in the hiring process one is ham-strung by do and donts, but when kids lives and futures are at stake a better method need devised. (In this particular case, based on published reports, it appears while Banning did what it was legally supposed to do, due diligence does not appear to have occurred.)

The Archdiocese has no record of allegations of sexual misconduct by Charles Mayer,” the statement read.

Mayer was arrested last weekend after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s investigators said he sent nude photos of himself to someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy he had met online. It was, in fact, an account run by undercover police.
