Ex-Valley Christian coach reportedly admitted to student sex

A popular former Valley Christian High School coach has been charged with two dozen felonies alleging he repeatedly had sex with two underage student athletes, and incriminated himself during a police-monitored conversation and text message, authorities say.

Gregory Marshall, 56, of San Jose, who coached track and varsity girls’ basketball, was arraigned last week on 11 counts of sexual penetration of a person under the age of 18, and 13 counts of oral copulation with a minor, all allegedly committed between 2002 and 2005. He could spend up to 18 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Marshall is free after posting $435,000 bail following his arrest Thursday.
