A deacon at a church in Osceola County was arrested Wednesday after
he admitted to having sex with a 12-year-old boy, according to an arrest
affidavit.
Juan Efrain Navarro, 79, was arrested on a slew of
charges, including sexual battery on a minor and lewd and lascivious
molestation of a minor, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s
Office.
The boy’s uncle told deputies he woke up to have breakfast
but could not find his nephew. He went to the Iglesia Cristiana Luz de
Salvacion at 3321 Morningside Drive and overheard his nephew giggling
and saying “ouch that hurts” from a shed on the church’s property.
