The man killed in a pedestrian vs. train collision in Platteville on Friday was arrested about a week prior on suspicion of unlawful sexual contact.
Paul Stephen Wakefield, 62, was on foot about noon when a southbound train struck him on
the tracks along U.S. 85 at the Weld County Road 34 crossing, according
to a news release from the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
Police,
firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene after a witness
called 911. The train was traveling at a speed below the limit in the
area at the time, according to the release.
Wakefield, a pastor at Gilcrest Baptist Church, was arrested Jan. 3 following a Windsor Police Department investigation.
Police
were called to a Windsor assisted living facility after a nurse walked
in on Wakefield kneeling in front of a female patient with his hands up
her shirt and his head on her chest, according to the affidavit for his
arrest. A nurse told police the woman has cognitive communication
deficit and problems with her memory.
In addition to unlawful
sexual contact, a misdemeanor, Wakefield was booked into the Weld County
Jail on suspicion of committing a crime against an at-risk person, a
felony. He bonded out the next day.

Welcome to H&C,,, where I aggregate news of interest. Primary topics include abuse with "the church", LGBTQI+ issues, cults - including anti-vaxxers, and the Dominionist and Theocratic movements. Also of concern is the anti-science movement with interest in those that promote garbage like homeopathy, chiropractic and the like. I am an atheist and anti-theist who believes religious mythos must be die and a strong supporter of SOCAS.

UPDATED::Durham rabbi forced to resign after sexual complaint | The Herald Sun
UPDATE:: Rabbi Accused Of Sexual Misconduct Is Suspended By Reform Rabbinical AssociationA Durham rabbi was forced to resign recently after the community he served for nearly three years received a complaint that was sexual in nature, according to interviews and documents.
The Reform movement’s rabbinical association has suspended a rabbi accused of sexual and emotional exploitation by a woman who regularly worshipped at his synagogue.
Rabbi Larry Bach, a well-known religious leader in Durham, North Carolina, was the subject of a several-months-long investigation by the Ethics Committee of the Central Conference of American Rabbis. The suspension comes after Bach was initially given a censure — a lower tier of reprimand — in March. Bach’s synagogue, Judea Reform Congregation, was not immediately informed about the censure at the time, and instead learned of it from the woman who first brought the allegations of sexual misconduct. Bach resigned from the synagogue in April.
In a letter dated Aug. 21 and shared with the Forward, the case manager for the CCAR’s Ethics Committee informed the woman of the committee’s decision.
On Saturday, Steve Simon, president of the Judea Reform Congregation on Cornwallis Road, sent out an email saying the board had accepted Rabbi Larry Bach's resignation.
The resignation followed the temple leadership's learning that Bach had been censured for an ethics violation in March by the Central Conference of American Rabbis. It was the second time Bach had been in trouble.
“Our inquiries into this situation revealed that Rabbi Bach previously had received a reprimand from the CCAR for a similar transgression and that he had failed to follow the terms of that adjudication,” Simon wrote. “Together with the Rabbi, the Board concluded that the breach of trust was so significant that Rabbi Bach could not serve as a rabbi to our community.”

Brooklyn, NY - Hikind: Employee Fired After Preying On Students At Prominent Girls’ School In BP; Administration Turned Blind Eye
A Brooklyn girls’ school has found itself in a difficult position
after numerous reports have surfaced alleging that an employee had been
interacting with girls inappropriately for several years and that the
school’s administration was reportedly aware of the behavior but did
nothing to protect students.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind said that he had been contacted by multiple parents whose daughters attend the Bais Sarah school in Borough Park reporting the alleged behavior.
According to Hikind, parents told the school’s owner and principal, Rabbi Nuchem Klein, about the alleged abuse perpetrated by a non-Jewish employee who goes by the nickname Spikey, but no action was taken.
Hikind took to Twitter on Friday morning, asking parents who had knowledge of any abuse taking place at Bais Sarah to contact his office and reached out to Rabbi Klein to discuss the matter.

After years of inquiries, Willow Creek pastor denies misconduct allegations - Chicago Tribune
Last October, the Rev. Bill Hybels stood before worshippers
at his packed sanctuary and made a stunning announcement. After 42 years
building northwest suburban Willow Creek Community Church into one of
the nation’s most iconic and influential churches, Hybels was planning
to step down as senior pastor.
“I feel released from this role,” he said, adding that he felt called to build on Willow Creek's reach across 130 countries with a focus on leadership development, particularly in the poorest regions of the world.
After introducing his successors, he invited church elders onstage at the expansive church to lay hands on them and pray.
What much of the church didn’t know was that Hybels had been the subject of inquiries into claims that he ran afoul of church teachings by engaging in inappropriate behavior with women in his congregation — including employees — allegedly spanning decades. The inquiries had cleared Hybels, and church leaders said his exit had nothing to do with the allegations.
An investigation by the Chicago Tribune examined those allegations and other claims of inappropriate behavior by Hybels, documented through interviews with current and former church members, elders and employees, as well as hundreds of emails and internal records.
The alleged behavior included suggestive comments, extended hugs, an unwanted kiss and invitations to hotel rooms. It also included an allegation of a prolonged consensual affair with a married woman who later said her claim about the affair was not true, the Tribune found.
