Barton: 'We Have An Inalienable Right To Marriage To Be A Man And A Woman And No Other Combination' | Right Wing Watch

Barton said that the institution of marriage was created by God long before government ever existed, and therefore "government can't get over into God's jurisdiction."

"Whatever God did in Genesis 1-8, government will protect but it cannot redefine, it cannot change," he said:
Problem::Marriage predates the Bible, as attested to by the Code of Hammurabi, c. 1780 BCE. Not only did "marriage" exist before the Bible, it still exists in absence of the Bible, today. No single religion, belief system, culture or race can stake claim or ownership over the concept of "marriage." Only their own individual interpretations of it.

Problem::And which God are you referring to?

Problem::Which forms of biblical marriage shall we accept as correct? Perhaps we should accept polygamous arranged marriage in which women are exchanged for years of service (Genesis 29:15-30)? Or maybe we allow women to be taken as the spoils of war and treated in whatever way their conquerors see fit (Deuteronomy 20:10-15)? How about forced marriage in which a woman must marry her rapist (Deuteronomy 22:28-29)? There are more but the gist is obvious, the Bible does not say “marriage is defined by God as between one man and one woman.” (I'll deal with Matthew 19:3-12 another time as it actually deals with divorce.)

Also consider prior to Gen 12, Judaism as "religion" or a people did not exist before to Abram's call:
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (KJV)
Just for fun, here is a conundrum to ponder, exactly what type of "marriage" did Jesus perform the water to wine trick at? Since prior to Acts the Christian church didn't exist yet:
"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." (Acts 11:26)
In fact the Christian church did not even have a sacrament of marriage until the middle ages, it was a contractual arrangement under the law before then.

(Who would have thunk that random comments I left on various articles throughout the inter-webs would come in handy.)

Barton: 'If You Choose Not To Vote, That's The Same As Casting Your Vote For Evil' | Right Wing Watch

"This is serious business, man," Copeland declared and Barton was entirely in agreement, adding his own warning that those who do not vote candidates who oppose abortion rights will be held just as accountable as those who vote for pro-choice ones.

Not voting for anti-abortion candidates "keeps you from being on the life platform," Barton said. "There is only one place of life, any place else except that is not life. There's not a third choice. If you do nothing, you have not chosen life ... If you choose not to vote, that's the same as casting your vote for evil":

Time for more crazy headlines

Remember it's not so much the story, but what the headlines imply

U.S. Government to Give $313,000,000 to Muslims for Home Mortgages
I was kind of curious about this headline so did a we bit of checking.  It is fairly "accurate" if you look past the hyperbole it is meant to cause.  What is in error, "According to the GAO, Obama’s administration will be handing over more than $300 million tax dollars to Muslims to help pay their mortgages. $110 million of this money will be used as loans for businesses located in the West Bank."

When in actuality, this is what was stated, "First, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) along with PIF and other entities have committed to lend $485 million to the Affordable Mortgage and Loan Company (AMAL) to support mortgages for low- and medium-income borrowers in the West Bank. OPIC has committed to lend about $313 million; PIF has committed,,,."

Notice, it say OPIC and not tax dollars.  OPIC is operated on a self‐sustaining basis at NO NET COST to American taxpayers, although OPIC is appropriated administrative funding, and reauthorized on a regular basis, by the U.S. Congress.

And to be clear, OPIC has been in existence since 1969 through an amendment to the Foreign Assistance Act, and the agency began operations in 1971, during the Nixon Administration.

Starbucks is "ground zero" for spreading Ebola and other diseases,,,

Why?

"Because of the clientele,,,Generally upscale sodomites who,,, sit there with their computers,,,it's a meeting place, they exchange a lot of body fluids,,, Especially the Starbucks in the urban areas,,,a large number of the sodomites and the LGBT crowd that usually and continue to approach the idea of sex and intercourse and dating on a lower, less-visible, less social scale because of the nature [of] what they want to do and who they are, the reason why they're fighting so hard to get public recognition and legality of what they're doing so they don't have to stoop to dark-alley measures that [they] have to seek after for having sex."

Need I say more?

Liberal lunacy: Animal rights group seeks “personhood” for chimpanzees
This one is not only bizarre but interesting as well from a strict legal standpoint; I will be interested in the ruling of the Court when it comes down.  West would have done well to leave the issue of abortion out of the discussion had that not been his target in the first place.
It’s time for an “American jihad”

Nothing says "freedom" like forcing others to adopt our culture, beliefs, values, and politics,,,
Among the many definitions of jihad are a "war or struggle against unbelievers" and "a crusade for a principle or belief." Given those definitions, I believe it's time for an American jihad.

An American jihad would reawaken in American citizens the certain knowledge that our Constitution is a sacred document that better defines and preserves the liberty and autonomy of human beings than the charter of any other nation on earth.

The Constitution, along with the miracle of our nation's founding and the providential history of America fighting and winning war after war against oppressive regimes, proves our manifest destiny not only to preserve our borders and safety and national character at home, but to spread around the world our love of individual freedom and insist on its reflection in every government.
