Rapper B.o.B Insists Earth Is Flat. Take That, Neil deGrasse Tyson. - The New York Times

Unconvinced, the rapper released a song to defend his stance (a warning: the lyrics contain vulgar language). The track includes a direct shot at Mr. Tyson: “Aye, Neil Tyson need to loosen up his vest/They’ll probably write that man one hell of a check.”

It also implores listeners to “Do your research on David Irving,” who is a Holocaust denier, and claims “Stalin was way worse than Hitler.”

Because of his musical success, B.o.B’s support of the flat-earth pseudoscience had a great reach. He has enjoyed a rapid ascent to fame since his 2010 debut album, “B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray,” went gold. It included “Nothin’ on You,” which topped Billboard’s charts, and “Airplanes,” which hit No. 2.

On Twitter, Mr. Tyson appeared to suggest that he was a fan of B.o.B’s sound, if not his science.

Creationist Group Answers in Genesis Says 'Cosmos' TV Series Promotes 'Blind Faith' in Evolution

I find it hilarious that the Reich has their panties in such a wad over the new "Cosmos." It just goes to show how tightly pack they are inside their little box. There is no such thing as faith in evolution and an inability to understand science is not a valid argument against it, Evolution is not a belief, it's a matter of understanding why it is true.

Creationist group Answers in Genesis has spoken out against the TV series "Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey," arguing that it promotes a "blind faith" in evolution.

"Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey, if the first segment is any indication, will attempt to package unconditional blind faith in evolution as scientific literacy in an effort to create interest in science," wrote Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell on the AiG blog.

"We hope that future segments will spend more time showing actual scientific observations-such as the brief part of this episode showing where earth is in relation to the rest of the universe."

What I like about Dr. Tyson, straight shooter,,,
While astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson believes all individuals have a right to their own beliefs, he’s passionate about what should be taught in science class – science.

“If you have a religious philosophy that is not based in objective realities that you then want to put in the science classroom, then I’m going stand there and say no, ‘I’m not going to allow you in the science classroom,’” Tyson tells Bill.
What many people (politicians, pundits etc) refuse to accept is that Intelligent Design or Creationism is NOT science. Never can be never will be. Add to that these same people, in their repeated attempts to justify their position, have redefined what constitutes science to fit their own point of view. They equate real science with natural phenomena under the control of God. They fail to see science for what it really is. Science is not just a body of knowledge, it is also the process through which this knowledge is attained. Simply declaring that something is true because the Bible "tells me so" cannot be construed as science.
