The fact that they had to do a study on this blows my mind. To me this is a no brainer. I know I was at my worst when I was out of work. The 3 times I have had extended periods of unemployment, I was a miserable biotch.
I have always felt that our personal self-worth is tied into our ability to be productive members of society. In our culture that means employment. Altho for me, as long as I have a job, whether low paying or not, I'm a happy camper. It may be due to the fact that were I live, any job that is found is a stroke of luck. You have to adjust your thinking a bit in order to survive.
Impact of a bad job on mental health as harmful as no job at all
Welcome to H&C,,, where I aggregate news of interest. Primary topics include abuse with "the church", LGBTQI+ issues, cults - including anti-vaxxers, and the Dominionist and Theocratic movements. Also of concern is the anti-science movement with interest in those that promote garbage like homeopathy, chiropractic and the like. I am an atheist and anti-theist who believes religious mythos must be die and a strong supporter of SOCAS.
