And this is being responsible how??

I thought it was our responsibility to care for our own future needs/events? By relying on "Jesus" and not focusing on future needs, how is this responsible? Maybe I am reading too much into this, but it is the first thought that came to mind when I saw all three of these signs within a week of each other. It's as if they are saying "no matter how irresponsible I am, I don't care. My imaginary friend will save my ass."

How is racking up thousands of dollar in credit card debt or spending to keep-up with-the-Jones responsible? I'm not being critical of those that have lost their jobs due to the economy or have medical bills that have out stripped their insurance coverage. I'm talking to those who spend to acquire their wants whilst ignoring their needs, present and future.

We all know that the economy is struggling and may possibly get worse, wouldn't we be wise to plan for that? Isn't that what personal responsibility is? You can not care for others if you do not first know how to care for yourself. Further, when you truly learn to be responsible for yourself you learn it is in your best interest to be a good steward of others and the world around you.

Without personal responsibility you can never truly appreciate the rewards of accomplishment and you only experience life as a victim. Entitlement is the end result.
