I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask if maybe, just maybe, this is being taken out of context?? But knowing Mr. Pat it's probably not. And he is the first to defend the sanctity of marriage from us gays and lesbian WTF. Me thinks dude needs to re-evaluate and read his Bile,,,I mean Bible. Or is he just cherry-picking the good stuff again?
And the viewer that called for advice concerning his friend, what's the point?? He's already screwing some other chick or at least thinking about it and needs the guilt taken away. Well ya better get down and pray to your imaginary friend you scumsucker.
And yes this is a sore spot for me. I just recently lost my best friend to cancer. Yes, her partner, her wife, and her had difficulties, but they stuck together till the end. No throwing in the towel because of her illness. So to read of some idiot bullshit minister/politician saying go ahead and throw your wife away is a bit unnerving.
My parents have been married 56 yrs, they have been through thick and thin together. A few years ago my mother became very ill, I sat and watched as my father spent everyday, all day by her side; only leaving to eat and sleep. I have no clue if my mom was aware he was there or not, I assuming she did as she was not comatose. Would Mr. go-ahead-and-cheat-on-your-ailing-wife tell my dad to go find another woman? Or better yet (as one commenter asked), what would he say to a woman in the same boat? I bet ya $10 he would say that "the marriage vows are sacred and must be upheld no matter what."
