My initial reaction was "another example of harm caused by religion" but after reading this story, something about this incident isn't sitting well with me. Yes this young mother is responsible for the child's death, no dispute there. But I get the feeling that this incident is more about being clueless in regards to how to raise a child as a "single" parent; babies raising babies.
By the sounds of it her "negligence" is more in line with being uneducated in basic first aid and CPR. Little information is provided in regards to time frame and other essential details. I will be curious as to how this is handled, as her statement "Jesus came down and took Astrid to heaven" is troubling.

A Clarksville woman charged with killing her 7-month-old daughter Friday told police “Jesus came down” and took her daughter to heaven while she was bathing her, according to an arrest warrant.
Stefany Paige Johnson, 24, was charged with criminal homicide after Clarksville police responded to her 1311 Sonja Drive home at 3:40 a.m. Friday after receiving reports of a woman yelling and screaming, as well as being naked in the road, according to the warrant.
Johnson was uncooperative and belligerent when police arrived, and officers found 7-month-old Astrid Johnson’s body on the couch upon entering the home. Additionally, police found no evidence of attempts to provide medical care to the baby.

Welcome to H&C,,, where I aggregate news of interest. Primary topics include abuse with "the church", LGBTQI+ issues, cults - including anti-vaxxers, and the Dominionist and Theocratic movements. Also of concern is the anti-science movement with interest in those that promote garbage like homeopathy, chiropractic and the like. I am an atheist and anti-theist who believes religious mythos must be die and a strong supporter of SOCAS.
