When a wingnut cries foul (pt 1)

So the other night my cohort in crime Deb and I got into an interesting discussion with a NWO proponent, anti refugee, and anti-transgender twatwaffle.  This here is the original thread minus some postings our adversary deleted after I mentioned she was spamming Deb's wall. Here is a collection of screenshots Deb took when she noticed TW deleting posts.  I'm going to refer to the original posting.

So why am I doing this besides the fact that I can?  Deb had this to say and I agree 100%,
I posted it because I'm sick of people blaming refugees and trans people for shit that never happened. I don't mind controversy one bit, but when people post bad ideas and then start deleting things I have a problem with that. It's cowardly and I won't abide it.
(I have decided to present this as a multi-part posting for consideration of length and various other reasons.)

So what started it all, Deb posted this internet meme with comment:
Two factually correct statements. And FYI:  Although there is no requirement that I edit names as this was a PUBLIC FB posting on Deb's wall, I will be nice.

First hyperbolic response, not from primary adversary but she did respond.  I will address that momentarily.
I came into the discussion later in the conversation, but one comment left this nice little rebuttal article by Snopes.
The claim, ",,,Germany created the leaflets; the leaflets were distributed in response to an incident in Cologne in 2015-2016; the leaflets were created after a wave of Syrian immigrants came to Europe in 2015; the complaints were entirely or primarily related to sexual assault or misconduct."

Snopes then explains how this claim came about via the Daily Mail.  Showing the entire leaflet, Snopes notes that "two or three of 13 frames pertained to co-ed swimming comportment. The rest addressed water safety, appropriate attire, and common hygienic practices for individuals unfamiliar with public pools."

Concluding, "While it’s true that the leaflets were created and distributed in Munich following “problems” in public bathing areas, the leaflets came long before any events in Cologne on New Year’s Eve in 2015 or 2016, as they were created in 2013. Additionally, the leaflets were produced in a variety of languages, and there was no evidence that their creation was prompted by any complaints about how immigrants or refugees behaved toward female swimmers.
So now TW enters the conversation and throws this comment concerning the "Swedish rape crisis".
For shits and giggles, I looked it up and TBH, a 45 minute perusal of the subject is NOT enough and should be studied thoroughly.  BUT, this is my take away:
1] Sexual assaults in Europe are concerning.
2] To borrow a phrase from Germany’s Justice Minister Heiko Maas, "there is no justification for blanket agitation against foreigners." There is allegation of a cover up in Sweden which is related to an earlier event in Cologne Germany.  These 2 incidents and other minutiae have led to the charge of immigrants to Sweden being responsible for the huge rise in reported rapes in recent years.  I am assuming this is what TW is referring to
3] As will become apparent in subsequent conversation, TW does not consider source nor does she consider that the subject is more nuanced than she believes.  It is straight line thinking that confirms her prejudice with no understanding of what she speaks.  Call it emotional thinking if you will.
4] I have no idea what this has to do with the original OP as it was two statements of fact.
So what did I find concerning Sweden's "rape crisis":

1] Julian Assange's legal battle has brought this subject to the fore.
2] Comparing crime rates across countries is fraught with difficulties something many journalists and commentators ignore
3] Yes Sweden does have the highest rape rate in Europe
4] Sweden's attempts to record EVERY case of sexual violence separately.  The example given to highlight this point, "when a woman comes to the police and she says my husband or my fiance raped me almost every day during the last year, the police have to record each of these events, which might be more than 300 events. In many other countries it would just be one record - one victim, one type of crime, one record."
5] the statistics don't represent a major crime epidemic, rather a shift in attitudes
6] In 2005 there had been reform in the sex crime legislation, which made the legal definition of rape much wider than before.

So the issue is much more broad than TW would have one believe,
"It is much more complicated than the way the media are normally presenting it," Jerzy Sarnecki, a professor of criminology at Stockholm University, told The Daily Beast. "According to studies which I have done on general crime, most of the differences in recorded crimes between immigrants and Swedes are explained by socioeconomic factors. It doesn't mean of course, that one, a few, or several other incidents of that kind [sexual assaults perpetuated by immigrants] didn't happen. "
,,,
"One of the ghosts of all kinds of racial prejudices is allegations of sexual crimes against women," Sarnecki said, noting that in the 19th and 20th centuries many African-American men were executed based on (often unproven) allegations of raping white women. "It's an old, very well-used argument against immigrants."
So, sorry TW, it is because of people like you that right-wing, anti-immigrant sentiment has spread making misinformation much easier to propagate.  Hell, even the Swedish PM doesnt agree with you.
“Sexual harassment is not automatically binding to migration and immigration,” Swedish prime minister Stefan Löfven told CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, explaining, “We have had sexual harassment in Sweden for many, many years, unfortunately.”

There are two reasons as to why the prime minister could make his bewildering statement without fear of being contradicted: Swedish law forbids registration based on people’s ancestry or religion; and the last time anyone ran a thorough study of rape rates in Sweden was 2005. So if you can’t refer to a rapist by his country of origin, and you don’t count which ethnic minority commits what percentage of the rape, you, too, would have to agree that there’s no proof it’s the Muslims doing the raping in Sweden.
So while the issue of sexual assault is concerning in any culture, TW has ignored the minutiae of the situation and shows ignorance of Swedish law.  What ever the point TW was attempting to make, it is in no way related to the original OP and she did a fine job of deflecting the conversation.

  2. Exactly what kind of help would you like me to get? You see everything posted above is as it happened. My counter arguments are factual and accurate with no hyperbole. And yes this is what I do with my time, I counter mis-information and lies. Especially that which could get someone hurt or killed.

If you would like to offer a counter argument, to what I posted supported by verifiable source material I would gladly publish it. Although it can not be done anonymously without good reason. Your response would also be subject to the same treatment as above.
