Former Prattville youth minister faces child sex charges

A former Prattville youth minister has been indicted on child sex charges.

John Edgar Harris, 41, of Cooper Avenue was arrested in October on charges of sexual assault and facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sex act, courthouse records show. The recently completed session of the Autauga County Grand Jury indicted Harris on the original charges, and also indicted him on an additional charge of enticing a child for immoral purposes.

Harris is a former student minister at Glynwood Baptist Church, church officials confirmed after his arrest in October. Harris had resigned from the post on Sept. 3, 2017, the church confirmed.
