In other MMS news,,,

While MMS has never gone away after Kerri Rivera's becoming silent here in the US, MMS has gained a foothold through the antics of Tom Merry (as mentioned in prior post) and Danny Glass.

So it seems that finally FB got the balls to pull Rivera from FB after 5-6 years of battling for such.  While I am not sure if I will personally delve into the foray, Kathrine Paulson of "Without a Crystal Ball" did post this report:

As to Glass, Kathrine has this to say

Sunfruit Dan & Jillian Epperly Send Their Friends After Katie

EDITED to add::  Damn reality,
While there is the truth that her page and group “Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism”  were removed by Facebook. Rivera’s profile and other business pages remain on Facebook.
,,,
Another critic of Rivera, Emma Dalmayne an author, CEO of Autistic Inclusive Meets, autistic adult, and mother of autistic children cautioned against the excitement of Rivera’s removal from Facebook. She said that while the groups and pages are down for now that Rivera will find new ways to get her message out.

Concerning my previous post of the gathering in Washington State, Barry Duke, of the FreeThinker, posted this report referencing the Guardian article concerning the same.

With all the goings on, I not sure if I will delve back in or not as I still knee-deep is shit with Jillian :)

UPDATED::Show Notes::They are kind related (Pt 5)

Please be advised there is developing news concerning Rivera; will update when more is known!!

A bit of a side note before we begin. One question I have been asked is, "why I don't concentrate on the (NOT) science of MMS and what is presented by Humble and Rivera?"

My answer is twofold,,,

One, although I love science and feel the science behind this shit is crank of the worse kind. Delving into the "chemistry" of it all is very long and tedious (for lack of a better). In other words, what Humble and Rivera state is so twisted, if not out right lies, it would take the patience of Job to unravel. I have picked at some but it's a 10x1 ratio; for every 1 page of garbage, it takes 10 pages to refute. Also, those much better than I have tackled this issue. I refuse to make my shit sound all sciencey just for the sake of word sounds. I am a lowly dishwasher with no college degree, I am going to speak the language I actually understand, NOT make shit up!!

Two, I am going to steal a page from Orac, "There is no currently known valid medical reason to give this chemical to anyone to treat anything. None of this is (or should be) in serious dispute from a strictly scientific, medical, or ethical standpoint."

To me that says it all!!

Humble and his minions whine and "complain" that there are no trials being done; that this drug isn't being studied or that autism isn't being studied. In order for a trial, besides the legal and ethical considerations, there has to be evidence of some benefit to the proposed treatment. As Orac notes there is none; there isn't even an inkling beyond its use as a biocide.

In that light, I am more interested in the mental or emotional aspect,,, why are people so deluded into shoving MMS up their kids ass.  I'm not talking fence sitters who are honestly "searching" in desperation for information and answers, I'm talking your "lalala finger in the ear" types, who are presented evidence that this shit harms the children they claim to love, but yet still do MMS ignoring the evidence.

To reinforce Orac's assertion Dr. Eric Fombonne, a prominent autism expert, is cited in a 2009 Chicago Trib article surrounding DAN! and the vaccine court, "There is no evidence for (the treatments') efficacy, no evidence for the reason for them to work. There (are) no published studies which would suggest that (they) would change the course of autism."

So last time we took a brief gander at Kerri Rivera, today we all going to delve a bit more into this sadist with no medical background. We are gonna take a look at this "mom" who knows better than all the doctors and autism researchers.
Letting a quack like Kerri Rivera give a talk about feeding autistic children bleach and giving them bleach enemas until they get a fever, all in an attempt to cure their autism, blows past that line at Indy racer-like speeds and continues on for the proverbial 500 laps past it. From my perspective, if anything, we skeptics went a little too easy on Ms. Rivera, but our commenters didn’t. They called this “treatment” what it really is: Child abuse. Even if the bleach in the solutions poured into these children’s anuses were nothing more than water or saline, it would still be child abuse because it’s a useless therapy that involves doing something that is likely to cause extreme distress to any child. Autistic children, however, given their frequent sensory issues, are far more likely to find such a treatment to be painful or disturbing in the extreme while many of them would be less likely to be cooperative for it. But, as we know, it’s worse than that, given that Rivera advocates upping the doses until children start having fevers, exulting about how she loves fever therapy.
When I first took an interest in this MMS shit, I was "lucky" enough to find not only Jim Humble's book but Kerri Rivera's as well. As neither cost me anything (legally obtained BTW) I was like WTH, at least the apologists can't say I didn't read em.  Needless to say the $0 I spent could have been used for better things. The time reading their drek I will never get back.

BUT, in all honesty, the only way to combat this shit is to jump right in,,, I did!!

Science Mom wrote this, in 2012 regarding a petition against MMS:
This needs to go farther in my not-so-humble opinion. MMS, chemical castration, stem cell injections, chelation, faecal "transplants" and the myriad of "cures" that autistic children are subjected to at the hands of their parents would not be tolerated if perpetrated against neurotypical children. Imagine the outrage if something like these "treatments" were featured at a paediatric conference. The treatment of autistic children as objects of gruesome experimentation has to stop. Public perceptions with regards to tolerance of this abuse need to change. Or, it needs to be brought to their attention. Merely banning an MMS peddler from AutismOne's roster is not enough and won't improve the quality of life of this segment of autistic children by much. That said, I appreciate what you are all doing here.
Although I do not have the visibility of many fine bloggers on the front lines, hopefully I can do my part by bitching to you all. The mind-set that is impetus for me,
See, this is exactly the theme you were obviously setting up:  those who take the position well founded in Science are not open minded (they consider others “whack jobs” and have opinions “set in stone”); but somehow taking a position not supported by science is not only” open minded”, for some,,,it is even equated with being open minded.
For shits and giggles, see also::  'Skeptics' article stirs up condemnation from skeptics, praise from holistic thinkers and Science bloggers, 'skeptics' exposed as group of online terrorists whose weapons include intimidation, censorship and threats

This is the type of mind think these jack-wads expect us to have, a belief not based in science but some pseudo-scientific woo, "Because plant-based medicine works through the synergistic effects of thousands of phytonutrients working together."  WTF?  I'll take my Invokana and Metformin; I'll take my Metoprolol, thank you very much!!

Think this denialism isn't a cult,

They consider themselves scientists but nothing could be farther from the truth. Why solely dwell on the scientific process when you also need integrity, humility and passion for truth to deliver the goods? Who would argue that Einstein was not the greatest scientist of all? Einstein single-handedly gave us the phenomenal, revolutionary ‘theory of relatively’ without the aid of one single scientific study. He did this solely through his thought experiments. He was successful because he was the ultimate embodiment of the scientific spirit — integrity, humility and passion for truth. You only need to look at the man and you can see these things. Contrast Einstein’s scientific spirit with theirs. We have an autism epidemic that is obliterating generations of children and what solutions do they have to offer? Where are their passion and motivation to provide answers to the suffering children and their families? Instead, all we hear are lame excuses; ‘we don”t know if there is really an epidemic…we can’t do an unvaxed/vaxed study because it’s too difficult…stop asking us to investigate vaccine components because that’s shifting the goalposts…and so on and so on’. What happened to their scientific ideals of seeking truth to the betterment of mankind? Poor, pathetic, sad sacks they all are. How low they have sunk. Despicable pharma shills, they do not hesitate to prostitute themselves for mere selfish gains. They are the ultimate sell-outs. Not only did they sell-out our kids but they also sold out their own profession. History will forever judge them as the most odious excuses for scientists.
We have all faced this in debating theists in some form or another.  We have faced it when debating those that embrace the paranormal.  That's what drives me, besides the abuse of children, it is being told I am not open-minded. Science does not choose sides, it either supports a contention or it does not,,,I err on the side of science.

The book
What makes Rivera so dangerous is her book. Her lectures are just as bad, but the audience is limited, at least directly at the venue; although the internet has changed that paradigm. What strikes me, her son Patrick, is nothing more than a guinea pig in a desperate struggle to rid him of this horrible demon(s).

According to (former ?) minion Adam Abraham:
Rivera is the mother of an autistic child, a growing boy who, in his second year of life, was healthy one day, and after receiving a required, “routine” inoculation, suddenly went away. His body is there, but his spirit, his proclivity toward normal human interaction, is not. He is distant in a way that saddens a mother’s heart.
UPDATE 6/1/2016::  When I put this piece together I could not find the blog-posting that "confirmed" my assertion of "former".  Here it is from the horses mouth; pay attention to what his new "miracle cure" is now:  Dawn of a ‘Peece’ Movement,  FEBRUARY 6, 2013.
Let it be known on this day, of my official withdrawal from the “Miracle Mineral Supplement/Solution” a.k.a. “MMS” conversation.

While I am grateful for what I have learned and the many amazing people I’ve met on this journey, in good conscience, I can no longer continue to address various ways to use the product when a more compelling solution—one that is unquestionably natural, benign, and not subject to the issues or laws of interstate or international commerce, or capricious, jingoistic “approvals” of “Man,”—presents itself, though it may initially be met with even greater skepticism, prejudicial distaste, or disbelief than MMS.

Nonetheless, that compelling solution is one’s own urine. You could say that it is from Earth, Mother Nature, or God, and all statements would be true. The Intelligence needed to bring together all the components that are found in urine that make Life and health blossom again, is clearly beyond the most “advanced” conventional scientific knowledge. Why it works is not beyond our understanding. What’s hard to understand is why we continue to believe our present methods might work, when the results they produce have been, and are so abysmal. Also hard to fathom is why the Powers that Were thought we’d never figure this out. Perhaps they planned another false flag event or two to keep us arguing at each other about guns.

Scientific evidence shows that urine is a proven, natural remedy of superior efficacy to anything that is produced outside the body, and is perfect for what ails you at the moment of intake. It is everything that little minds in big laboratories and ivory towers would love to create, protect, and control access to, while selling a little bit at a time back to you at very high prices.
Yes folks, he wants you to fucking drink your own pee!!

As described, these are the sub-human children mentioned in part 3.  The soulless children stolen away by vaccines only to be recovered by purging the toxins away.   As I mentioned, this is the shit that Jenny McCarthy spouts.
"Autism, as I see it, steals the soul from a child; then, if allowed, relentlessly sucks life's marrow out of the family members, one by one. It relegates every other "normal" think to utter insignificance." (p xvi)
That was in her 2008 book, Louder Than Words, penned by  Dr. Jerry Kartzinel who wrote the introductory material.  This is the same mind set of Rivera; Rivera's book further opens that doorway to multitudes.  While I have read it, due to other postings I have never written a review.  It is just that bad from a scientific POV but yet trusted by many.  Ban CD MMS has a decent review if you are so inclined, here is but one example.

Part 4: Chlorine Dioxide, Debunking Rivera: The Blood Brain Barrier
The people who sell these products prey on parents who are desperate to help their child. Because of the stigma surrounding autism, and the narrative which promotes autistic people as lacking potential which I talk about in this video), some parents see autism as so terrible that they would risk killing their child, making them sick, or giving them a disease like polio or whooping cough rather than have their child be autistic. As an autistic person, this is deeply troubling to me. The lack of education when it comes to autism, the lack of respect for autistic people, the lack of awareness, the negative views, all of these things contribute to the point of view which says that risking someone’s health and wellness for the small chance of getting rid of their autism is worthwhile.
There’s a common stereotype that autistic people are lacking in empathy. This is a misconception built on confusion between cognitive and emotional empathy. (a subject I explore in this video) It seems sadly ironic that non-autistic people levy these claims, when autistic people aren’t the ones giving children toxic “treatments” which are clearly harmful. It’s obvious just how desperate these parents are when they convince themselves that vomiting, fever, and diarrhea are normal and even desired outcomes of this “treatment”. There has been at least one case of M.M.S. sellers being prosecuted for their actions, hopefully with more coming.

I like, many others find this chapter (chpt 9) ironic, not only does she condemn supplements in her book she states in her AO2014 appearance,,,

So we should take that she is against supplements, they are a no-no BUT,,,

Ban CD MMS notes,
Yet in her book "after recommending the CD protocol which will deplete your child of essential vitamins and minerals, they now advise you to give your child all sorts of vitamin and mineral supplements. It is a little like recommending that people burn themselves without reason, and then advising them to use a burn cream."
In the same vane, another example, although not mentioned by Ban CD MMS, ingestion of vitamin C and antioxidants,
It’s important to carefully review your child’s supplements. In order to maximize the benefits from this protocol consider removing any antioxidants, (they kill CD—more on that in Chapter 5, page 88), calcium, magnesium (which feeds the biofilm), as well as iron and B12 (which are favorite foods of parasites). p9
Jump to page 88 we read,
Although antioxidants have their place in personal health and are common in many foods and supplements, they cannot be taken at the same time with chlorine dioxide—they negate each other. This is why vitamin C, juices, and other antioxidant containing foods are prohibited in The Diet. p88
So which is it, banned altogether, or don't take when consuming CD?  I hate contradictions.

I have in the past mentioned the problem with this suggestion, and it boils down to one thing,
CD is a chemical oxidizer - a free radical - which intensifies the depletion of vitamin C and causes oxidative stress.  So in Rivera’s effort to “heal the symptoms known as autism,” she is causing more harm by damaging one of the foundations of our immune system.

Remember the candle analogy?  What antioxidants like vitamin C do is provide electrons for the oxidizer. They, in effect, sacrifice themselves to be the candle that is burned, instead of other important compounds in your body.  The buildup of free radicals over time is largely responsible for the aging process.  Free radicals may play a role in cancer, heart disease, and conditions like arthritis.” This should be a red flag that MMS is a toxic chemical and should be avoided.
Keep in mind Rivera also states on page 133 to avoid carrot juice as it "feeds" the pathogen.  Yet on page 234 we read this:
Carrots
Carrots are another effective home remedy for eliminating intestinal parasites in children. The chemical constituents of carrots attack pests by preventing their development. It is one of the most effective natural treatments for children, when given a small cup of grated carrots each morning until the problem desists.
So which is it?  Are carrots good or bad?  The sugars she so wants to avoid in juice is still present in the whole vegetable.

I am going to highlight one more quick example of bad science and call it a day.

If you remember, in the past I have noted Emily Willingham's "experiment" that shows that MMS is bleach. In the same vane, Matt Carey of LBRB has "taken" that idea one step further.
I thought about taking this to the next step–putting some drops on raw meat to see how much tissue would be bleached. Then I thought, I wonder if there’s a study on this already?
What makes Matt's inquiry interesting as well as eye opening, there is a study, actually a couple of studies, to support his claims.  Something he notes in his subsequent posting, the study -  Comparison of Organic Tissue Dissolution Capacities of Sodium Hypochlorite and Chlorine Dioxide.

According to Matt, the first study looked at how well these solutions dissolve tissue.  Results and conclusion,
No statistically significant difference was found between the tissue-dissolving properties of 5.25% NaOCl and those of 13.8%ClO2 (P > .05). Saline did not dissolve the organic tissue. (p2)
,,,
Within the limitations of this in vitro study, it was concluded that [13.8%] ClO2 [solution] is efficient as well as NaOCl in dissolving organic tissue. (p3)
Foreseeing issues from the MMS apologists, Matt found another study - Effect of chlorine dioxide and sodium hypochlorite on the dissolution of human pulp tissue An in vitro study. Which concludes, “,,,5% Chlorine dioxide is capable of dissolving human pulp tissue but sodium hypochlorite was more effective.” (p358)

Remember, the Humble/Rivera solution is 28% CLO2!!

Whether one wants to argue semantics or hyperbole, CLO2 is a bleach.  What it is not is a household bleach like Chlorox (TM).  CLO2 is an industrial bleach used in various industrial capacities as well as a biocide. While "dose does make the poison" keep in mind that the FDA limit is 0.8 mg/l.  That is what is allowed by law in our everyday drinking water.  That is what science has deemed safe to ingest. If you do the math, "Humble is recommending about 60 times the FDA limit, and that this is to be taken every hour for 10 hours." [35]  Kerri Rivera goes to even further extremes in her "72-2 protocol".

As I said, I don't give a rat ass what an adult does to their own body, I do care that this is being forced upon the vulnerable.  Especially autistic children.  This is not "like" chemo where the treatment has a known efficacy in fighting the disease.  "It is promoted as a method to rid the body of parasites, with no testing before or after to demonstrate the need nor the efficacy of this parasite based approach. The bleach is given until kids are demonstrably sickened by it–the vomit or have other symptoms." Autism is not a disease that needs to be killed.

The apologists for this poison, also in conversation, delve into the whole acid/alkaline theory of disease which makes "talking science" around MMS even more convoluted.  Something I may explore as I have touched on the implications in dieting.

So much for avoiding the science, as you can see it can become very bulky, very quickly,,, But Rivera's book as well as Humble's is full of this shit.

If there was some actual science in with all the anecdotes, it would be bearable.  Regretfully the anecdotes offer no supporting data to the cause.  The parents are seeing what they are meant to see, what they are brainwashed to believe.

Like most religionists Rivera take advantage of the most vulnerable.  While Rivera seems to have toned down the religious aspect, it is still there.  Remember she is a Bishop in Humble's church and like most frauds is hiding out in a foreign country to avoid discipline.

And this JUST in,,,

Show Notes::They're kinda related (Pt 4)

There was no show this week but putting this out there anyways as part 5 is half way done.   Please note that my speech was being a butt hole so the audio is not as "good" as I would like.  The extended audio mentioned is included.

Let's recap a bit to understand where I am going with all this, as it is not your standard AV diatribe.

1] Kent Hovind and Mary Tocco catch my eye (with a little help); standard AV bullshit.  We learn about the Cutter Incident surrounding the polio vaccine.

2] Hovind and Tocco are both religious nutz which got me to thinking about SOCAS.

3] A stink was raised with the documentary Vaxxed being included then pulled by Tribeca. (Another AV celebrity comes to the fore in Robert Dinero.)

4]  Andrew Wakefield, the writer of said documentary,  cries persecution and censorship.  Although not religious in nature, it is related to the First Amendment.  That issue reminds me of G2C and MMS.

Last week I briefly (uhm,,, well sorta briefly) introduced Jim Humble, the creator of both MMS and G2C.  I hope in that time I was able to show that his intentions were not so humanitarian as he likes to make them out to be.

This week we are going to take a look at homeopath and one of the infamous bishops of Jim Humble’s church, Kerri Rivera.  Author of the book Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism, which touts dosing your child orally with this bleaching agent and anally as well, to "recover" your child from autism.  And if you remember some of the horror stories from last week, this is just ludicrous.

What do we know of Kerri Rivera?
What we do know of Rivera, comes from self reporting or what is stated by others; she has not denied such attributions.  Following is an example of the drek she was taught (as noted by David Gorski and many other science writers). [Currently this link is dead.  As it is a newsletter, I am searching for alternative URL.]
When people leave here they really know how to use MMS for all things, skin diseases of all kinds, colon problems, how to regenerate the liver, how to treat brain cancers, how to treat babies and pregnant women, and how to treat animals from mice to elephants. You will be personally taking MMS while here, spraying your skin with powerful solutions of MMS (but won’t hurt you), spraying others’ skin and hair. You will learn to use sprays, baths, IV solutions, MMS gas, soak the feet, and most importantly, the new protocols that in the country of Malawi have cured more than 800 people of HIV plus 40 cancer cases, 50 of feet and leg numbness, 3 heart disease cases, 13 diabetes cases, and many other diseases and problems.
Sounds very much like the 2010 newsletter mentioned last week.

That is what she was taught, it is what she is teaching others, through her book and lectures, that is scary.  In an polished, Project Camelot, interview from 2015 she talks of how autism was not initially on Humble's radar for MMS use, so this is all her.  Which is why my focus is on her and, as we shall see, co-hort Andreas Kalcker.

One point to note, as I suspected, Rivera has been distancing herself from Humble.
In an interview with NBC Chicago, Rivera distanced herself from Humble and said her only interest was in helping children.
As to some of what she teaches people,
"Autism is treatable, it's avoidable, and I believe that it's curable," she said. "As the symptoms go away, the diagnosis fades as well."
,,,
"If it were so toxic, people would be dropping like flies, and there are no deaths related to chlorine dioxide," Rivera said.
Although my focus has been the ingesting and enemas advocated by Rivera et al, another form of torture justified by Rivera is “fever therapy”.
What caught my eye (and horrified me to think about it) was that Kerri Rivera was advocating the use of MMS enemas to treat autism. Yes, Kerri Rivera advocated subjecting autistic children to bleach enemas and has made videos touting this as a biomedical treatment for autism. As I noted back then, even worse (if that were possible), Rivera advocated “fever therapy” and characterized fevers after bleach enemas to be a good thing, a sign that the treatment is “working,” much as Jim Humble gives MMS to treat adults in increasing doses until they start to feel ill. (Personally, as a physician, I would be very concerned at a child becoming febrile after having ingested bleach or had it shot up his rectum. Not Kerri Rivera, apparently.) Indeed, Rivera even exults about how much she loves “fever therapy” and how it “wakes up the immune system.” In addition to the bleach enemas, she recommends a “72-2″ protocol that involves making children drink dilute bleach every two hours for 72 hours.
To us normies it suks, to a biomed mom, it is the greatest thing since sliced bread
,,,possibly it’s attractive because the child is more compliant, but I think more significant is the sense of accomplishing something. A treatment is administered, a change is observed, therefore it’s working! So they keep doing it, and soon they start seeking the change that shows its working rather than worrying about the end point. It could be a little pavlovian — sort of like clicker training a dog, you train them to associate the click with a treat and praise, and fairly quickly you don’t need to do the treat and praise because the click is all it takes to make the dog feel rewarded. Even though the dog didn’t get the thing they’d actually been wanting; they come to substitute the signal for the reward.

Combine that with the “warrior mommy” thing and it all becomes disturbingly attractive. They want to be Doing Something to help their child, because that is what warrior mommies do. Anything less is a sign of failure. So they really want to see signs of progress. This “treatment” doesn’t work, but it *does* produce symptoms that the unwary can be deluded into thinking are signs of progress. So rather than these side-effects discouraging them, it actually encourages them instead.
She already had a bio-med clinic (2006) when introduced to MMS, so her mind-set to accept the stuff was already there.  Not knowing her child's status other than "he was a mess" or what the family's trials or tribulation may have been concerning a autism diagnoses, I can only guess it was one of desperation.  In another words clinging to anything that gave hope of a "normal" child.  I can rightly understand that BUT by she discounts science and all that it offers. She discounts what I noted last week, that these children are unique in their own ways.  It is us who need to understand.

Further along in the interview Rivera tells a bit of history and how she justifies the torture her child.  Notice the Jenny McCarthy trope of "refrigerator mamma".

I have spoken on this issue before so I won’t rehash it too much.  Your child is not damaged or injured.  By force feeding a poison and shoving it up the ass, you are guilty of abuse.  Using Pavlovian conditioning to avoid behaviors you do not understand is barbaric.

While Gorski goes into much more detail, we do learn this concerning Rivera,
,,, we learn that Kerri Rivera was trained as a DAN! (Defeat Autism Now!) practitioner (even though she is not a doctor) and charged by Bernie Rimland herself to translate DAN! protocols into Spanish and spread them throughout Latin America, like a preacher of woo. She’s also the director of a “clinic” even though she is apparently not a doctor or health care professional,,,
Although DAN! protocols and the subject of Bernie Rimland is beyond what I want to present, I may at some point dive into the subject.  I have a sneaky feeling that Rimland alone will be a deep rabbit hole.

As she states, she is "just a mom".  While she may be well read and "knows her child" her understanding of science as it relates to the use of MMS is pitiful. Like Humble, Rivera and her apologists blatantly ignore science that counters their wishful thinking (ie FDA warnings) or twist the science to fit their conclusions (ie the Lubber study or Natick).  Many of your MMS apologists do the same, they present these studies as evidence for its efficacy disregarding the protocols of said study.

Today was a brief overview of Rivera’s shit.  Honestly I could spend hours, not even delving into her flawed science.  The shit I have read confirms my belief that Rivera is a sadist; a sadist of the cruelest kind.
The latter video is utterly appalling. There really is no better way to describe it. In it, Rivera describes how, as you up the dose, you’ll see the autistic child do more stimming, which makes me wonder whether it’s because the child is feeling ill, leading him to show more autistic behaviors. Rivera, apparently believing in MMS< thinks this increase in stimming behaviors is a good thing, indicating that the treatment is working. She also discusses how the autistic children subjected to this therapy will develop diarrhea, but that that's OK as long as it's "detox diarrhea",,, [External URL left off.]
From one of the many online bio-med forums,,,
My 14YO son has autism. I've been treating him with a parasite cleanse system for 1.5 years (5 days on, 2 days off). He's made some remarkable improvements, but every time I try to wean him off the cleanse, the parasite symptoms flare up. He is nonverbal and fairly low-functioning, so I don't get any feedback from him as to how he is feeling. Last week, I started him on 1 drop of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement then upped the dose to 1 drop, 2x a day this week. After about 4 days at 2 drops/day, he vomited once and had diarrhea all day. I am assuming it is the Miracle-Mineral-Supplement . I decided to drop down to 1 drop/day again until he gets beyond this. He tends to have loose stools anyway, which I am guessing is related to this ongoing battle with the parasites. His gut tends to be very sensitive to anything I give him, so I have to go very carefully with anything new like the MMS. I am still giving him the other parasite cleanse (Systemic Formulas VRM 1-4). I would love to hear anyone's ideas or insight into this. I am working with a homeopath who has done extensive research into parasite cleanses, but she has not researched MMS. I'm looking to get my son beyond these parasites once and for all. My homeopath and her colleagues are autism experts and do consults with parents from around the world. They have found that the children with autism who are considered "tough nuts" tend to also be parasite kids. With their compromised immune systems, it is difficult to eradicate parasites.
Harsh maybe but in all likelihood honest.  Makes me wonder if the “rumor” is true.  Did her DH finally wise up?

Next time we'll go a little deeper into Kerri Rivera:  some contradictions in her book, her willful stupidity regarding science.  We will contemplate whether the use of MMS is another form of Scientology and if we have time, the dreaded "ropeworm".

Remember, this is just an overview.  As I was telling Deb the other day, the past 3 weeks has been a reaction, a refutation, of one "simple" meme.  AV drive me gonzo, even more so the theists and it is shit like this that reminds me the science denialism as a whole is a cult.

This is a letter that Autismum penned to Kerri Rivera after her 2012 AutismOne presentation. I'm not going to get too deep here, but Autismum did receive a reply.  You will understand why I say it is a cult, why I say it is a mind-set.
Ms Rivera’s reply was brief  to say the least and here it is in full.
You have your science all wrong. The websites that you site are incorrect. I wish you and your son all the best. Wonderful hearing your opinion. Everyone has one be it informed or misinformed.
Kerri
The mind-set is the same and no amount of legitimate science is going to change their minds.  Whether it be AV, Climate Change, GMO or Creationism.

A response in defense,,,
Anonymous, January 9, 2013 at 11:25 AM:

have any of you naysayers atually [sic] read the book on MMS?

IT IS NOT BLEACH. chlorine dioxide is not bleach. look it up.

The drug companies want you to think it is bad because it cures diseases, is easy to make, and would lose the trillions of dollars. Why would doctors support it? They are forever connected to the pharmecutical [sic] companies.

chlorine dioxide is negatively charged and is attracted to other negatively charged things... parasites, pathogens, viruses.

you're healthy cells are positively charged are therefor repel chlorine dioxide.

after a couple of hours in your system, chlorine dioxide turns to salt and oxygen.
This is just dogma, it is the drek that both Humble a Rivera repeat over and over again.  Part of their commandments must be "It's not Bleach", "drug companies want you to think it is bad", and "pathogens".
if you say crap about MMS when you have NO knowledge or understanding, you are just as evil as the drug companies. No one has died from mms. How many people have died from prescribed drugs?

If you don't believe the chemestry [sic], believe the people who have cured themselves of parasites and cancer, the people whose lyme [sic] disease and aids once had them bed-ridden and now live pain free.

Dont [sic] be a drone of the system you idiots.
And, one of her come backs (it does get worse):
Amanzo, mother of Liam (3)June 12, 2012 at 8:43 PM

FDA? You mean the buddies of Big Pharm who profit from society being and staying sick? Please. I bet you also naively eat factory-farm meat and don't have a clue about e. coli. Probably where our kids got the parasites that are now coming out on an MMS/parasite protocol. If you'd like to see worm pics, I know moms who will gladly send them! But it looks like your team has found its 'facts' to propagate and follow and are unwilling to consider another perspective. Well, my team consists of proactive, reputable moms who report their hundreds of children are getting better day by day. I'll take that over the FDA any day. By the way, for the record, I want to add that my son is PERFECT. I love everything about him. If his body is not well, which has been my motherly instinct considering his mineral deficiencies, food sensitivities, candida yeast, and sleep disturbances despite healthy diets, then I will look into what helps his body so that his perfection can shine forth. I'm done responding to these blogs. I'd rather just be with my kids.

Show Notes: They are kinda related,,, (Pt 2)

Stop Kerri Rivera, autism quacks and abusive "treatments" for autism

NICOL!!

If you remember from part 1, we discussed a general overview of the First Amendment and how it is ONLY speaking of and to governmental entities and their representatives (public vs private sector employment).  The First Amendment has no jurisdiction between private parties, such as the "cases" of Phil Robertson or Andrew Wakefield, although there are certain caveats (ie violations concerning anti-discrimination laws, or what I call faux religious liberty cases,  BUT you have to bear in mind those cases then are no longer 1st Amendment issues even when said violation may be religious in nature).

You may say whatever you want - again with some caveats (ie yelling fire in a crowded theater) - the gov't can not shut you down although they can place restrictions for public safety (such as safety zones at family planning clinics or a buffer zone at a political rally).

A private entity may disagree and they may criticize you BUT they do not have to provide a platform for your speech.  Ultimately that is what the Azucar Bakery case was about in Colorado.  Marjorie Silva, the defendant, maintained throughout, "[i]n the same manner we would not … make a discriminatory cake against Christians, we will not make one that discriminates against gays."
Where Phillips went wrong is that he out-right refused a service/product (providing a wedding cake) that he normally provides to any other customer. Where Silva went right, "[i]n the same manner we would not … make a discriminatory cake against Christians, we will not make one that discriminates against gays."

Where Jack went wrong, he assumed Silva would cow-tow to his wishes because he is a Christian and his beliefs are sacrosanct and should never be questioned. Where Silva went right, "[i]n the same manner we would not … make a discriminatory cake against Christians, we will not make one that discriminates against gays."
In a similar vane, it is also why Phil Robertson had no leg to stand on against A&E.  As a private company, A&E had certain standards for employees, in their determination Robertson didn’t meet said standards.  End of story.

In a nut shell that is the situation being faced by Andrew Wakefield; a lying con-man with no moral integrity.  Tribeca is a private entity who chose, after receiving horrible public backlash, not to screen the his film.  Contrary to opinion, the powerful elite had nothing to do with this.  There is no conspiracy.

Although this IS SATIRE,  this article sums up the general sentiment concerning our view of documentaries.

We also learned that the same tenet applies in regards to religion.  The gov't has to be hand off in endorsing a specific religion and that hands off approach has to be across the board.  It has to be equal to all religions.  In other words Christianity and its variants (what we here in the States are most familiar with) can not be given preferential treatment over any other religion.  What is good for the goose, is good for the gander.

That is one of the underlying arguments you will find concerning the SB277 issue in California.  Parents can no longer use religion to exempt a child from the required school vaccines.
If you remember SB277 eliminated non-medical exemptions for mandated vaccination in regards to schooling.  As I have mentioned, its passing has created a little cottage industry.  A point that Orac notes concerning Dr Bob Sears:  “SB 277 is generally a good law, but it’s definitely not perfect. Perhaps its most glaring weakness is that all that it requires for a child to obtain a medical exemption is a letter from the child’s doctor. In other words, any physician can provide a letter for parents to use to get a vaccine mandate.” [See also:  Now what? Will SB 277 enrich antivaccine doctors? and SB 277 advances, and antivaccine activists lose it (again)]

Remember my bit on MMS?  The MMS protocol is actually part of the Genesis II Church sacraments. Jim Humble made it as such to attempt to bypass the SOCAS issue by injecting religious bullshit.

For example, these are statements within a longer statement by Humble,
I also told him that we have given interviews to CNN, BBC, Sky News and others with none of them reporting what I said so why waste our time. He was persistent about finding out if we cure breast cancer. I finally told him that by the Sacraments of the Genesis II Church we have treated, cured and healed breast cancer. He was appalled that I would say those forbidden words “cure, heal or treat”. Forbidden by the FDA, U.S. Justice system maybe, but not a Church! Maybe the AMA can't say that because they are not set up to “cure” anything but only treat symptoms. I told him that he could see for himself testimonies of many diseases “cured” with the Genesis II Church sacraments. People from all over the world are being “restored to health” with the protocols of our Church. ABC released an article and a two - night coverage of a so-called “investigation” into the “unorthodox underworld” of the Genesis II Church. Here is what was aired.
,,,
As you can see we brought up a different side of the issue that they cannot and will not cover. The only places we have seen our story get out is the alternative media and even many of them are afraid to cover what we do as a Church. The time is now to make a stand against this evil that is destroying our world. This Bible verse sums it up for about who we are really fighting. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”, Ephesians 6:12 King James Bible. Whether you believe the Bible or not those that are well read in history and have their eyes open know this to be truth throughout history.
While Humble is still active in the debacle he created, a more recent news release is telling.  This one is dated December 4, 2015 from Archbishop Mark S. Grenon
We have prepared a Religious Exemption letter to be given to any government or private organization as a statement of our beliefs about vaccines and other issues regarding toxins entering our body, i.e. “our temple”. If anyone needs this letter please contact us at,,,

This statement, was in regards to a woman who wanted to volunteer as a hospice.

To Humble and his ilk, I have this to say, Why the FUCK would you volunteer at a hospice or such without being vaccinated - the elderly, the ill and immune compromised DIE from flu complications, EASILY. Fuck Jim Humble and his cult.

I get personally peeved at this becasue it is attitude such as this that caused my issue with staph/ MRSA.  Which BTW almost derailed my eye surgery 18 months after the fact.

Bishop Kerri Rivera (and Bishop Andreas Kalcker, a oft co-hort) takes it one step further, in her "curing" of autism, with the purging of parasites and intestinal lining (ropeworms) via the ingestion of CLO2 and CLO2 enemas.

https://www.facebook.com/therealcrediblehulk/photos/a.892787380752581.1073741828.892778157420170/1086814234683227/?type=3&theater

Sorry, but not sorry for the gross picture.  This is what the parents are sifting through their child's poop for.  This occurs daily if not more.

Another example, this 2-part tutorial from Kerri Rivera and in it she describes how to make a 3000ppm CLO2 solution:

A far cry from the recommended concentration for treating our water supply.

What I found interesting,,,

Although Rivera seems to have jumped ship for GcMAF, THIS still appears in relation to Humble and his Genesis II church.  My last foray into this wacky world, about a year ago, the number stood at 163.  So it would appear, though not vocal, Rivera is still considered part of the fold.

Into that mix we have the whole of the AV movement of which Wakefield is a part; a part he fully embraces.

All this got me too thinking in light of the recent Hovind/Tocco video(s) and the current debacle with Wakefield.  (And NO, Wakefield was not exonerated, "To try to argue that a legal ruling such as the one regarding Professor Walker-Smith exonerates Wakefield is an even worse folly than arguing that his being struck off necessarily proves he is a quack. He’s an antivaccine quack based on science; it matters not what the courts say.")  SOCAS hasn't been broached per se, but SOCAS is an issue in the broader context of the AV movement as is the idea of religious freedom in general.  I wonder how much they have learned from the Reich and their throw spaghetti on the wall approach.

You see, some aspects of the alt-med field fall prey to the conspiratorial mind set exemplified by Hovind and the religious batshittery presented by Genesis II.  In fact what scares me is that next on Hovind’s list will be MMS.  He already peddles B-17 as a miracle cancer cure, so MMS would not be to far of a leap.

I guess what is bothersome and why collecting my troubled thoughts so difficult is that I see no end in sight.  I look to people such as Kevin Folta, the SciBabe, Dr David Gorski among many, many others, who have spent years studying this stuff and wonder - what do they really think when a individual such as Hovind or Wakefield (or in Folta’s case Vandana Shiva) make such a mockery out of science.  A field they have spent a lifetime to learn.

In the end I am reminded of what the interesting points John Oliver makes about science and science reporting in the media.
"No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no! In science, you don't just get to cherry pick the parts that justify what you were going to do anyway! That's religion! You're thinking of religion!"

"This is really dangerous! If we start thinking that science is a la carte ... that is what leads people to think that man-made climate change isn't real, or that vaccines cause autism, both of which the scientific consensus is pretty clear on."

UPDATED::The Parents Who Give Their Children Bleach Enemas to 'Cure' Them of Autism (Pt 1)

This breakthrough can save your life, or the life of a loved one.  The answer to AIDS, hepatitis A,B and C, malaria, herpes, TB, most cancer and many more of mankind’s worse diseases has been found. Many diseases are now easily controlled. More than 75,000 disease victims have been included in the field tests in Africa. Scientific clinical trials have been conducted in a prison in the country of Malawi, East Africa.

That is according to Jim Humble,,,

My original introduction to MMS or Miracle Mineral Solution came last year when I was sent this article Genesis II Church of Health and Healing’s ‘Miracle Mineral Solution’ slammed by AMA as ’snake oil’.  (FYI - this is out of Australia)

The gist of that article,
The cult recommends MMS “sacrament protocols” [yes - you heard that right, “sacrament protocols”] to treat diseases including cancer, HIV/AIDS, asthma and autism, even suggesting it is a “promising” treatment for Ebola.

The product, also known as “Master Miracle Solution”, is a sodium chlorite solution mixed with acid in water but critics say it is a poisonous bleach that should be used for cleaning.

AMA Victoria president Dr Tony Bartone slammed “snake oil salesmen” for preying upon
vulnerable sick people with “magic potions."
Now being that I have family and friends, who either fall within the ASD criteria themselves, or has a child that does, my interest was piqued.  So I wrote a little blurb looking into this shit; just enough to satisfy my brain that this crap was crank,,, of the worst sort. It is the basis of this rant which was brought about by the attached article a friend posted the other day.

Thanks Stephanie, you sent me back down the gopher hole.

Actually I was planning on doing a segment for “Havoc & Chaos Live” concerning MMS (also called CD - chlorine dioxide - Protocol) as it popped into my news feed a few weeks back; I lost the article.  But as I dug more deeply into this poison, the information became too unwieldy as you will see.  I have to hand it to VICE they went much further and their article is worth the read.

So first what exactly is MMS and where the fuck did it come from?

In my original posting, I kept it simple.  Just focusing on the MMS and avoiding the "religious" crackpottery not realizing that it is actually central to this whole shebang.  So we will start there,,,

Very simply, MMS is 28% sodium chlorite in distilled water.  As per instructions, it is the to be diluted with a food acid such as lemon juice, which results in the formation of chlorine dioxide a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and industrial water treatment.  According to the FDA and other world regulatory agencies, MMS claims to treat multiple unrelated diseases, including HIV, hepatitis, the H1N1 flu virus, common colds, acne, cancer, and other conditions.  When taken as directed, this “medical treatment” can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration. The improper consumption of said "medical treatment" can cause damage to the upper and lower GI tract and red blood cells leading to respiratory failure.

Sodium chlorite can lead to renal failure and methemoglobinemia, a condition in which red blood cells do not bind with oxygen. Both can be fatal.

Consider this from a 2011 write-up concerning Sylvia Fink’s death due to consumption of MMS:
After ruling out all other possible causes for Fink's death, according to Skane, methemoglobin found in the blood was at a “significantly high” level (45%) according to Ms. Fink's autopsy report.

Skane reported that Australian Federal Police wrote in a memo to Vanuatu Police:

“Methemoglobin basically results in the inability of blood to carry oxygen within the body causing cyanosis (lack of oxygen to the system). The [autopsy] report states that if the 45% saturation reading was accurate and existed at the time of death, then the symptoms could be consistent with being caused by methemoglobinemia and therefore a possible cause of death. Most cases of methemoglobinemia are caused by exposure to drugs or toxic substances including chlorate and chlorite.”
(Emphasis added in the original)
From WCNC's report concerning the death of Sylvia Fink:
I [referring to expert Kathy Matera, an Elon Chemistry Professor] would never put that in me. I might clean my shower out with it. But … (pause)… I don't even know what to say, I'm so flabbergasted," she said.

She says the problem is MMS also reacts with the healthy parts of your body. And the chemical only works once. So MMS kills the first good cells it hits in your mouth and throat – not the bad bacteria or tumors further inside.

"You could get lesions. You could get internal bleeding," Matera said.
In other words, since human tissue is made up of the same organic molecules of parasites, viruses, and bacteria, our tissue and cells will meet the same fate as those we wish to eliminate.

The following is from Lenntech, a water treatment company based out of the Netherlands.  This is what they have to say about CD:
Chlorine dioxide has many applications. It is used in the electronics industry to clean circuit boards, in the oil industry to treat sulfides and to bleach textile and candles. In World War II, chlorine became scarce and chlorine dioxide was used as a bleach.

Nowadays chlorine dioxide is used most often to bleach paper. It produces a clearer and stronger fiber than chlorine does. Chlorine dioxide has the advantage that it produces less harmful byproducts than chlorine.

Chlorine dioxide gas is used to sterilize medical and laboratory equipment, surfaces, rooms and tools.

Chlorine dioxide can be used as oxidizer or disinfectant. It is a very strong oxidizer and it effectively kills pathogenic microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses. It also prevents and removes bio film. As a disinfectant and pesticide it is mainly used in liquid form. Chlorine dioxide can also be used against anthrax, because it is effective against spore-forming bacteria.
,,,
Substances of organic nature in bacterial cells react with chlorine dioxide, causing several cellular processes to be interrupted. Chlorine dioxide reacts directly with amino acids and the RNA in the cell. It is not clear whether chlorine dioxide attacks the cell structure or the acids inside the cell. The production of proteins is prevented. Chlorine dioxide affects the cell membrane by changing membrane proteins and fats and by prevention of inhalation.
Notice Lenntech say absolutely nothing about drinking it or sticking up your kids ass!!

Note: One of the oft cited counter-points used by proponents of MMS is “Chlorine dioxide is promoted by government agencies for use in treating municipal drinking water.” [paraphrased]  As pointed out by Matt Carey of LBRB:
You and everyone else leave out an important point in that argument: it is used to treat drinking water, but it does not remain in the drinking water.
Chlorine dioxide is a water additive used to control microbes and can be used to control tastes and odors. It rapidly disappears from stored water.
Emphasis added. One can use ClO2 to treat water, but by the time it gets to the tap it is no longer present.

If it is present it does cause problems.

Some infants, young children, and fetuses of pregnant women who drink water containing chlorine dioxide in excess of the maximum residual disinfectant level could experience nervous system effects. Some people who drink water containing chlorine dioxide well in excess of the MRDL for many years may experience anemia.
Chlorine dioxide for water treatment is a very different animal than producing chlorine dioxide for immediate consumption.
According to the EPA, even at small doses, chronic exposure could cause reproductive and neurodevelopmental damage.
Animal studies have shown effects of chlorine dioxide and chlorite that are similar to those seen in people exposed to very high amounts of these chemicals. In addition, exposure to high levels of chlorine dioxide and chlorite in animals both before birth and during early development after birth may cause delays in brain development. The levels to which the animals were exposed were much higher than levels that would likely be found in drinking water that has been disinfected with chlorine dioxide.
OSHA restricts occupational exposure through inhalation of chlorine dioxide:

To drive the point home a bit further,

After 9 months treatment the osmotic fragility of the red blood cells was decreased in all treatment groups, while a decreased blood glutathione was only observed in the metabolite groups. At 2, 4, and 6 months no significant hematologic changes were noted in treated rats compared to control. However, after 9 months RBC counts, hematocrit, and hemoglobin were decreased in all treatment groups. CIO2, CIO- 2, and CIO- 3 administered chronically in drinking water for 3 months inhibited the incorporation of 3H-thymidine into nuclei of rat testes. This inhibition was observed in the liver of CIO- 2 groups and in the kidney of 100 mg/L CIO2 treatment. The incorporation in small intestinal nuclei was increased in both 10 and 100 mg/L CIO2 and in 10 mg/L CIO- 2. The treatment with CI compounds decreased rat body weight in all groups after 10 and 11 months treatment.

Now considering all that I have cited above, this is what Jim Humble is stating in his book, The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century.  It is the last bit that blows my mind:
Amazing as it might seem, when used correctly, the immune system can use this killer to only attack those germs, bacteria, viruses, molds, and other microorganisms that are harmful to the body. It does not affect friendly bacteria, including the intestinal flora, nor healthy any of the healthy cells. (Introduction, 1-3)
,,,
[C]hlorine dioxide have been used to purify water and kill pathogens in hospitals and for many other antiseptic uses for more than 100 years. Lately chlorine dioxide has been used more and more frequently, especially to purify water. It is also authorized by the FDA to be used to clean chicken, beef and other foods,,,.  Simple chemistry tells us that without doubt the same situation exists in the body,,,. The American Society of Analytical Chemists stated in 1999 that chlorine dioxide was the most powerful pathogen killer known to man. (1-37)
,,,
If you notice diarrhea or even vomiting that is not a bad sign. The body is simply throwing off poisons and cleaning itself out. Everyone says that they feel much better after the diarrhea,,,.  It is not real diarrhea as the body is just cleaning out,,, (2-36)
UPDATED 5/4/2016:: While working on another piece it came to my attention that the link above was dead.  Included here is a "new" link to a PDF version (4th Edition) of Humble's book.

While CD does kill the bad stuff on surfaces (like animal guts at a slaughter house) or purify water (as in a treatment plant), there is a catch.  CD CAN NOT distinguish between your cells and the bad shit (eg. the parasites "they" so desperately want to get rid of.)  It kills what ever it hits first by grabbing electrons (oxidation) whether it be in the mouth, throat, stomach or intestines.
Think of a candle, the flame illustrates oxidation in which the electrons of the candle wax are ripped off by oxygen in the atmosphere resulting in the release of light and heat. So it is with CD, as the oxygen is released it becomes chemically unstable and highly reactive, these unstable metabolic by-products of energy production in cells strive to stabilize by "grabbing" a replacement electron from any neighboring molecule, leaving even more damaged molecules in their wake.
This causes irritation, the nausea, vomiting and diarrhea is the bodies way of trying rid itself of the poison ingested.  Not - it means your body is expelling the toxins that have accumulated.
Note:  In Kerry Rivera's book, Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism, she makes this bizarre claim:
In order to maximize the benefits from this protocol consider removing any antioxidants, (they kill CD),,, [3-44]
,,,
Although antioxidants have their place in personal health and are common in many foods and supplements, they cannot be taken at the same time with chlorine dioxide—they negate each other. This is why vitamin C, juices, and other antioxidant containing foods are prohibited in The Diet. [5-88]
BUT,,,

The dark side of alternative health treatments

"Part of the difficulty is, how do you regulate something that's so vague?"
--

Out of AU but some very salient points,,,

Sarah Mathieson* just wanted the best chance to fall pregnant. So, she did what so many of us do. She researched her options, then visited a naturopath, who prescribed five bottles of supplements. And then, having developed joint pain, she went back ... and the naturopath prescribed another 16 bottles.

Dr Kerryn Phelps, a supporter of evidence-based complementary therapies and a former president of both the Australian Medical Association and the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association, treated Mathieson. "She came to see me saying she was feeling worse, terrible, achy, unwell." It turned out that Mathieson had ingested "toxic levels" of certain micronutrients.

Mathieson was one of the luckier ones. After stopping all of the supplements and taking a standard pre-pregnancy multivitamin, she went on to have a healthy pregnancy. But she is an example of a disturbing trend that Phelps sees in her practice: educated people – mostly women – falling victim to unqualified alternative health practitioners, many of whom they find online.

"They're inquisitive, looking for answers, not happy with 'Take this and go away' as an answer," says Phelps, who was motivated to write a book, Ultimate Wellness, in part because of her experiences with such patients. "They're prepared to invest time and energy and intellectual capital into their healthcare. But the question is, where are they getting their information from? In some cases, they're getting it from good websites on the net. And [in] some cases, from rubbish websites and unqualified practitioners."
,,,
"It's not PC in our postmodernist society to get your simple answers from [medical] professionals, because that's paternalistic and 'giving in to the man'," says Ieraci. She says the online health gurus "make you feel empowered, because you're going against orthodoxy".
,,,
"If we spent more time explaining medicine – and medicine's not really a mystery, it's basically plumbing, you know – if you can explain disease process, explain what you need to worry about and what you don't need to worry about, and just spend a little bit of extra time with your patients, then I don't think they'll go looking for magic cures elsewhere with witchcraft."

Miracle cures come and go, but quacks are forever

Let’s put aside exactly what GcMAF is (you can read about it here and here) and discuss the type of person who would promote one miracle cure and then suddenly jump to the next. According to Kerri, as recently as 3 months ago, parasites caused autism and shoving bleach into a child’s rectum repeatedly and often removed those parasites and reversed the symptoms. But today, she says autism has a completely different biological mechanism and a completely different cure that has nothing to do with the previous “miracle cure”.

Perhaps this should tell you something about what what “cure” means to a person like a Kerri. It seems “cure” means “anything I can convince vulnerable parents to give me money for”.  In other words, she takes advantage of a vulnerable population, convinces them of something that is not true and makes money off of her lies. I think there’s a term for that.

The Parents Who Give Their Children Bleach Enemas to 'Cure' Them of Autism (Pt 5)

Please keep in mind as you read the following, I am NOT scientist.  My education in the biological sciences ended in my freshman year of college; chemistry ended my sophomore year.  That was in 1984.  The following is my attempt to understand the “science” in both Humble’s and Rivera’s books (both of which I have read) and numerous inter-web communications.

What follows are my opinions and information based on readings from peer reviewed materials, opinions of science bloggers and other very smart people. I welcome corrections but be forewarned if you are an MMS supporter I may heavily moderate or edit you comments.  In other words, no YouTube testimonials or links to more of Humble’s or Rivera’s crap.  I will not by proxy support this CULT in any way.

__
So, we know that Humble and Rivera have both skewed their understanding of basic biology and the chemistry behind MMS.  They have cherry-picked the science behind the actual use of sodium chloride and then high-jacked terms to make it sound like science but ignoring the dangers.  (Watch how they use the "language" of science, as neither Humble nor Rivera are specific in their terminology or claims - “pathogen” means all bad while “bacteria” only means some; “virus“ aren‘t like bacteria so they are destroyed differently that other pathogens.  It is difficult to follow)

In regards to Rivera and her protocol, the driving force behind the use of MMS is the flawed belief that some type of "pathogen(s)" (which need to be purged or exorcised) has infected the biome of the gut which in turn has caused toxins to infect brain development.  All the while ignoring the neurodevelopmental aspects of autism.  (Remember the issue here is the jump from correlation to causation.)

BUT,,,

Regarding Humble's statement, "CHLORINE DIOXIDE HAS AN OXIDATION POTENTIAL OF .95 VOLTS, MUCH LESS THAT WHAT IS REQUIRED TO OXIDIZE BODY CELLS," I am struggling to understand the significance of his reference to this point.  It doesn't help the Rivera makes a similar claim, "Chlorine dioxide is an oxidizer with a lower oxidation potential (.95 V) than any of the other oxidizers in the human body."

That aside for the moment, what is this "oxidation potential" they speak of?

In aqueous solutions - dissolved in water; ie.  NaCl (aq) - the reduction potential (redox potential, oxidation / reduction potential, ORP, pE, ε, or Eh) is a measure of the tendency of the solution to either gain or lose electrons when it is subject to change by introduction of a new [chemical] species. A solution with a higher (more positive) reduction potential than the new [chemical] species will have a tendency to gain electrons from the new [chemical] species (i.e. to be reduced by oxidizing the new [chemical] species) and a solution with a lower (more negative) reduction potential will have a tendency to lose electrons to the new [chemical] species (i.e. to be oxidized by reducing the new [chemical] species)Oxidizing and reducing agents occur as couples, with a strong reducing agent coupled with a weak oxidizing agent and vice versa.

The easiest way to think of it, the game tug-of-war; the larger reduction potential pulls the electrons over to its side.  Put a different way, "the greater the difference between the redox potentials of two substances, the greater the vigor with which electrons will flow spontaneously from the less positive to the more positive (more electronegative) substance."

Reduction potential is measured in volts (V), or millivolts (mV). Each [chemical] species has its own intrinsic reduction potential; the more positive the potential, the greater the species' affinity for electrons and tendency to be reduced. ORP is a common measurement for water quality (not just the stuff we drink), groundwater and soils.

It is important to note, "the standard hydrogen electrode (SHE) is the reference from which all standard redox potentials are determined and has been assigned an arbitrary half cell potential of 0.0 mV. However, it is fragile and impractical for routine laboratory use

In other words, measurements and comparisons are made under standard conditions; it is under these conditions that the voltage is measured:
  • the concentration of all soluble chemicals is 1 M,
  • the temperature is 25C, and
  • the pressure is 1 atm for any gaseous chemicals.
Like pH, the reduction potential represents how strongly electrons are transferred to or from species in solution. It does not characterize the amount of electrons available for oxidation or reduction, in much the same way that pH does not characterize the buffering capacity.

Both pH and redox potentials are properties of solutions, not of elements or chemical compounds per se, and depend on concentrations, temperature etc.

As you can see right from the out-set, there are a few problems.  First, Humble ignores that ORP is a property of a solution, not elements or chemical compounds.  Last I looked, I am not a "body" of water that needs disinfecting, nor am I a pool or hot tub. I may roll around in the dirt when I play with the kids but I am not soil.  Also, I am fairly certain the inner environment of my body does not constitute the "standard conditions" required of said measurement.  As for sticking this shit up a kids ass, I'm pretty certain that's a bad idea as well.

But yet something about my exploration is not setting well.  Any numbskull can see that Humble’s reference to ORP (oxidation potential) is misleading and/or out of context.  Yes, Lenntech’s material sheet does show the “oxidation potential” or more accurately “oxidation strength” of +.95 for CLO2 (other sources have it listed as +1.19; Humble has also referenced +1.28 for O2, when it is 1.229) but, that doesn’t yet explain why Humble thinks that chlorine dioxide does not harm the body. It wasn’t until a friend point blank asked, ",,,you know what oxidation is don't you?"

Being trapped in the sciencey sounding gobble-de-gook of Humble’s pseudo-realm, and not "KISS"ing it, I missed the obvious when my friend said "it's rust."  With that rolling in the back of my mind, I found this among the numerous items Humble has published.  It is a 2009 (PDF) brochure devised by Humble to try and stifle his critics.  In my quest to understand Humble’s thinking deception, I overlooked the rust:

Humble’s premise is flawed on this point as not all “pathogens“ (remember the definition of a pathogen) respire in the same manner.  In fact a virus, since he mentions it, is a interesting little bugger but is way beyond the scope of this post; but I will say this:
Unlike human cells or bacteria, viruses don't contain the chemical machinery (enzymes) needed to carry out the chemical reactions for life. Instead, viruses carry only one or two enzymes that decode their genetic instructions. So, a virus must have a host cell (bacteria, plant or animal) in which to live and make more viruses. Outside of a host cell, viruses cannot function. For this reason, viruses tread the fine line that separates living things from nonliving things. Most scientists agree that viruses are alive because of what happens when they infect a host cell.
But back to those pathogens that live in (and on our bodies),,,

Just like Vitamin O and other “oxygenation therapies” the underlying premise, oxygen only kills the bad stuff (anaerobes in this case), is seriously flawed.  “In this vast community of gut bacteria, anaerobes outnumber aerobes by estimates of 100–1000 anaerobes to one aerobe.”  In other words, a majority (a very large one at that) of the normal healthy bacteria that makes up human gut flora is anaerobic, NOT aerobic.

[Keep in mind that my true focus is Kerry Rivera and her use of Humble’s science in support of her MMS protocol in “treating” autism.  Although jumping ahead a bit, it is based on the false belief that pathogens in the gut cause autism and because CD effectively kills pathogenic microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses they believe they can simultaneously cure autism.   Hence my specific focus on gut flora and the effects the MMS would have on said flora.]

But yet,,,,

Consider Shigella flexneri, a bacteria commonly responsible for human dysentery, which relies on oxygen availability in your gut:
Shigella is primed for invasion and expresses extended T3SS needles while reducing Ipa (invasion plasmid antigen) effector secretion. This is mediated by FNR (fumarate and nitrate reduction), a regulator of anaerobic metabolism that represses transcription of spa32 and spa33, virulence genes that regulate secretion through the T3SS. We demonstrate there is a zone of relative oxygenation adjacent to the gastrointestinal tract mucosa, caused by diffusion from the capillary network at the tips of villi. This would reverse the anaerobic block of Ipa secretion, allowing T3SS activation at its precise site of action, enhancing invasion and virulence.
Or

Escherichia coli (E. coli) another facultative anaerobic (an organism that makes ATP by aerobic respiration if oxygen is present, but is capable of switching to fermentation or anaerobic respiration if oxygen is absent), which is a normal part of the human gut flora - producing vitamin K2 and preventing colonization of the intestine with pathogenic bacteria.  However, certain strains of the same bacteria are also one of the leading causes of food poisoning.

Do you see the problem?

Regardless of what Humble may think, bacteria is bacteria, whether it is good for you or not.  A chemical compound has no means to differentiate between the two (think of the effects of an antibiotic, it takes the good with the bad).  So does MMS kill it or not?

Although I may have gone down a “wrong” path in my initial thinking, the “rust analogy” (for lack of better) has made me realize that Humble really has no clue but his devotees are blind to the science.  Mindlessly propagandizing and parroting their leader.  He learned well,,,
