UPDATED::The Parents Who Give Their Children Bleach Enemas to 'Cure' Them of Autism (Pt 1)

This breakthrough can save your life, or the life of a loved one.  The answer to AIDS, hepatitis A,B and C, malaria, herpes, TB, most cancer and many more of mankind’s worse diseases has been found. Many diseases are now easily controlled. More than 75,000 disease victims have been included in the field tests in Africa. Scientific clinical trials have been conducted in a prison in the country of Malawi, East Africa.

That is according to Jim Humble,,,

My original introduction to MMS or Miracle Mineral Solution came last year when I was sent this article Genesis II Church of Health and Healing’s ‘Miracle Mineral Solution’ slammed by AMA as ’snake oil’.  (FYI - this is out of Australia)

The gist of that article,
The cult recommends MMS “sacrament protocols” [yes - you heard that right, “sacrament protocols”] to treat diseases including cancer, HIV/AIDS, asthma and autism, even suggesting it is a “promising” treatment for Ebola.

The product, also known as “Master Miracle Solution”, is a sodium chlorite solution mixed with acid in water but critics say it is a poisonous bleach that should be used for cleaning.

AMA Victoria president Dr Tony Bartone slammed “snake oil salesmen” for preying upon
vulnerable sick people with “magic potions."
Now being that I have family and friends, who either fall within the ASD criteria themselves, or has a child that does, my interest was piqued.  So I wrote a little blurb looking into this shit; just enough to satisfy my brain that this crap was crank,,, of the worst sort. It is the basis of this rant which was brought about by the attached article a friend posted the other day.

Thanks Stephanie, you sent me back down the gopher hole.

Actually I was planning on doing a segment for “Havoc & Chaos Live” concerning MMS (also called CD - chlorine dioxide - Protocol) as it popped into my news feed a few weeks back; I lost the article.  But as I dug more deeply into this poison, the information became too unwieldy as you will see.  I have to hand it to VICE they went much further and their article is worth the read.

So first what exactly is MMS and where the fuck did it come from?

In my original posting, I kept it simple.  Just focusing on the MMS and avoiding the "religious" crackpottery not realizing that it is actually central to this whole shebang.  So we will start there,,,

Very simply, MMS is 28% sodium chlorite in distilled water.  As per instructions, it is the to be diluted with a food acid such as lemon juice, which results in the formation of chlorine dioxide a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and industrial water treatment.  According to the FDA and other world regulatory agencies, MMS claims to treat multiple unrelated diseases, including HIV, hepatitis, the H1N1 flu virus, common colds, acne, cancer, and other conditions.  When taken as directed, this “medical treatment” can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration. The improper consumption of said "medical treatment" can cause damage to the upper and lower GI tract and red blood cells leading to respiratory failure.

Sodium chlorite can lead to renal failure and methemoglobinemia, a condition in which red blood cells do not bind with oxygen. Both can be fatal.

Consider this from a 2011 write-up concerning Sylvia Fink’s death due to consumption of MMS:
After ruling out all other possible causes for Fink's death, according to Skane, methemoglobin found in the blood was at a “significantly high” level (45%) according to Ms. Fink's autopsy report.

Skane reported that Australian Federal Police wrote in a memo to Vanuatu Police:

“Methemoglobin basically results in the inability of blood to carry oxygen within the body causing cyanosis (lack of oxygen to the system). The [autopsy] report states that if the 45% saturation reading was accurate and existed at the time of death, then the symptoms could be consistent with being caused by methemoglobinemia and therefore a possible cause of death. Most cases of methemoglobinemia are caused by exposure to drugs or toxic substances including chlorate and chlorite.”
(Emphasis added in the original)
From WCNC's report concerning the death of Sylvia Fink:
I [referring to expert Kathy Matera, an Elon Chemistry Professor] would never put that in me. I might clean my shower out with it. But … (pause)… I don't even know what to say, I'm so flabbergasted," she said.

She says the problem is MMS also reacts with the healthy parts of your body. And the chemical only works once. So MMS kills the first good cells it hits in your mouth and throat – not the bad bacteria or tumors further inside.

"You could get lesions. You could get internal bleeding," Matera said.
In other words, since human tissue is made up of the same organic molecules of parasites, viruses, and bacteria, our tissue and cells will meet the same fate as those we wish to eliminate.

The following is from Lenntech, a water treatment company based out of the Netherlands.  This is what they have to say about CD:
Chlorine dioxide has many applications. It is used in the electronics industry to clean circuit boards, in the oil industry to treat sulfides and to bleach textile and candles. In World War II, chlorine became scarce and chlorine dioxide was used as a bleach.

Nowadays chlorine dioxide is used most often to bleach paper. It produces a clearer and stronger fiber than chlorine does. Chlorine dioxide has the advantage that it produces less harmful byproducts than chlorine.

Chlorine dioxide gas is used to sterilize medical and laboratory equipment, surfaces, rooms and tools.

Chlorine dioxide can be used as oxidizer or disinfectant. It is a very strong oxidizer and it effectively kills pathogenic microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses. It also prevents and removes bio film. As a disinfectant and pesticide it is mainly used in liquid form. Chlorine dioxide can also be used against anthrax, because it is effective against spore-forming bacteria.
,,,
Substances of organic nature in bacterial cells react with chlorine dioxide, causing several cellular processes to be interrupted. Chlorine dioxide reacts directly with amino acids and the RNA in the cell. It is not clear whether chlorine dioxide attacks the cell structure or the acids inside the cell. The production of proteins is prevented. Chlorine dioxide affects the cell membrane by changing membrane proteins and fats and by prevention of inhalation.
Notice Lenntech say absolutely nothing about drinking it or sticking up your kids ass!!

Note: One of the oft cited counter-points used by proponents of MMS is “Chlorine dioxide is promoted by government agencies for use in treating municipal drinking water.” [paraphrased]  As pointed out by Matt Carey of LBRB:
You and everyone else leave out an important point in that argument: it is used to treat drinking water, but it does not remain in the drinking water.
Chlorine dioxide is a water additive used to control microbes and can be used to control tastes and odors. It rapidly disappears from stored water.
Emphasis added. One can use ClO2 to treat water, but by the time it gets to the tap it is no longer present.

If it is present it does cause problems.

Some infants, young children, and fetuses of pregnant women who drink water containing chlorine dioxide in excess of the maximum residual disinfectant level could experience nervous system effects. Some people who drink water containing chlorine dioxide well in excess of the MRDL for many years may experience anemia.
Chlorine dioxide for water treatment is a very different animal than producing chlorine dioxide for immediate consumption.
According to the EPA, even at small doses, chronic exposure could cause reproductive and neurodevelopmental damage.
Animal studies have shown effects of chlorine dioxide and chlorite that are similar to those seen in people exposed to very high amounts of these chemicals. In addition, exposure to high levels of chlorine dioxide and chlorite in animals both before birth and during early development after birth may cause delays in brain development. The levels to which the animals were exposed were much higher than levels that would likely be found in drinking water that has been disinfected with chlorine dioxide.
OSHA restricts occupational exposure through inhalation of chlorine dioxide:

To drive the point home a bit further,

After 9 months treatment the osmotic fragility of the red blood cells was decreased in all treatment groups, while a decreased blood glutathione was only observed in the metabolite groups. At 2, 4, and 6 months no significant hematologic changes were noted in treated rats compared to control. However, after 9 months RBC counts, hematocrit, and hemoglobin were decreased in all treatment groups. CIO2, CIO- 2, and CIO- 3 administered chronically in drinking water for 3 months inhibited the incorporation of 3H-thymidine into nuclei of rat testes. This inhibition was observed in the liver of CIO- 2 groups and in the kidney of 100 mg/L CIO2 treatment. The incorporation in small intestinal nuclei was increased in both 10 and 100 mg/L CIO2 and in 10 mg/L CIO- 2. The treatment with CI compounds decreased rat body weight in all groups after 10 and 11 months treatment.

Now considering all that I have cited above, this is what Jim Humble is stating in his book, The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century.  It is the last bit that blows my mind:
Amazing as it might seem, when used correctly, the immune system can use this killer to only attack those germs, bacteria, viruses, molds, and other microorganisms that are harmful to the body. It does not affect friendly bacteria, including the intestinal flora, nor healthy any of the healthy cells. (Introduction, 1-3)
,,,
[C]hlorine dioxide have been used to purify water and kill pathogens in hospitals and for many other antiseptic uses for more than 100 years. Lately chlorine dioxide has been used more and more frequently, especially to purify water. It is also authorized by the FDA to be used to clean chicken, beef and other foods,,,.  Simple chemistry tells us that without doubt the same situation exists in the body,,,. The American Society of Analytical Chemists stated in 1999 that chlorine dioxide was the most powerful pathogen killer known to man. (1-37)
,,,
If you notice diarrhea or even vomiting that is not a bad sign. The body is simply throwing off poisons and cleaning itself out. Everyone says that they feel much better after the diarrhea,,,.  It is not real diarrhea as the body is just cleaning out,,, (2-36)
UPDATED 5/4/2016:: While working on another piece it came to my attention that the link above was dead.  Included here is a "new" link to a PDF version (4th Edition) of Humble's book.

While CD does kill the bad stuff on surfaces (like animal guts at a slaughter house) or purify water (as in a treatment plant), there is a catch.  CD CAN NOT distinguish between your cells and the bad shit (eg. the parasites "they" so desperately want to get rid of.)  It kills what ever it hits first by grabbing electrons (oxidation) whether it be in the mouth, throat, stomach or intestines.
Think of a candle, the flame illustrates oxidation in which the electrons of the candle wax are ripped off by oxygen in the atmosphere resulting in the release of light and heat. So it is with CD, as the oxygen is released it becomes chemically unstable and highly reactive, these unstable metabolic by-products of energy production in cells strive to stabilize by "grabbing" a replacement electron from any neighboring molecule, leaving even more damaged molecules in their wake.
This causes irritation, the nausea, vomiting and diarrhea is the bodies way of trying rid itself of the poison ingested.  Not - it means your body is expelling the toxins that have accumulated.
Note:  In Kerry Rivera's book, Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism, she makes this bizarre claim:
In order to maximize the benefits from this protocol consider removing any antioxidants, (they kill CD),,, [3-44]
,,,
Although antioxidants have their place in personal health and are common in many foods and supplements, they cannot be taken at the same time with chlorine dioxide—they negate each other. This is why vitamin C, juices, and other antioxidant containing foods are prohibited in The Diet. [5-88]
BUT,,,

CD is a chemical oxidizer - a free radical - which intensifies the depletion of vitamin C and causes oxidative stress.  So in Rivera’s effort to “heal the symptoms known as autism,” she is causing more harm by damaging one of the foundations of our immune system.

Remember the candle analogy?  What antioxidants like vitamin C do is provide electrons for the oxidizer. They, in effect, sacrifice themselves to be the candle that is burned, instead of other important compounds in your body.  The buildup of free radicals over time is largely responsible for the aging process.  Free radicals may play a role in cancer, heart disease, and conditions like arthritis.” This should be a red flag that MMS is a toxic chemical and should be avoided.

UPDATED::Arizona Trans Man Shot and Killed By Police in His Own Home | Advocate.com

UPDATE::   Demonstrators take to the streets in protest for transgender man killed by police
On Thursday night, demonstrators took to the Tucson streets in protest against police and police brutality in the wake of the killing of a transgender man at the hands of Mesa, Arizona police.

Last week, Kayden Clarke, 24, was shot and killed by police officers in his home when they were called in response to a possible suicidal woman, according to CNN. Clarke was in the process of transitioning from female to male and was also diagnosed with Asperger's and was believed to possibly have other mental health issues.

The night of his death, Clarke was shot and killed after lunging within 10 ft. of police. Both officers fired their weapons and killed Clarke, according to CNN reports.

Tonight, protesters took to the Ronstadt Transit Center on Congress Street to voice disapproval of the killing and police brutality. Many at the demonstration had hopes to send a message of acceptance of the transgender community and a society without law enforcement.
_
You may remember Clarke for, "headlines last year when he was featured on Huffington Post in a viral video with his service dog Samson. Clarke trained Samson to help him when he was suffering from the symptoms of Asperger syndrome. Clarke called these symptoms “melt-downs” and they involved attempts to harm himself by, for example, banging his head on walls or hitting himself."

I am quite sure more will be added to this saga as time goes on.
Two as yet unnamed Arizona police officers shot to death a 24-year-old transgender man in his own home on Thursday, according to a report from ABC 15 Arizona.

Kayden Clarke of Mesa, Arizona, is now the second trans person to have been killed this year. Monica Loera was the first.

Even after discovering that Clarke is a trans man, local news accounts still repeatedly misgender Clarke, identifying him as a “woman,” using his former female name, and referring to him with female pronouns.

Clarke suffered from Asperger syndrome, a form of autism in which otherwise intelligent people may lack social skills and suffer from a range of atypical behavior. According to videos on YouTube and posts on Facebook from friends that have since been deleted or marked private, Clarke also allegedly suffered a history of physical and sexual abuse as a child that left him with post-traumatic stress disorder and suicidal ideation.

The Parents Who Give Their Children Bleach Enemas to 'Cure' Them of Autism (Pt 4)

As a childless outsider I have gained a tinsy weensy, virtual glimpse into the world of what being a parent of an autistic child entails; the joys and the hardship. One of the difficulties and concerns I have with Rivera’s approach is echoed in many comments to various narratives I have read concerning MMS.  It is expressed quite well by Dr Michael Fitzpatrick, author of Defeating Autism in a 2009 interview:
‘Parents are fighting the wrong battles against the wrong people at the wrong time', Dr Fitzpatrick told me when we met in a café in Hackney, London, near his GP surgery. He believes parents are held back from doing what is best for their own children by the false promises of biomedical campaigners, whose ‘rage' is ‘a divisive and destructive force'.
,,,
,,,the continual drive to ‘defeat autism' prevents parents from coming to terms with their children's condition, and can cause them to have a rather negative view of their own children.

‘The unresolved grief of parents of children with autism is a particular problem', writes Fitzpatrick in his book, ‘because they still have a child though perhaps not the child they anticipated'.
,,,
Facing up to the fact that your child may never develop normally or lead an independent life is very hard for any parent, and will inevitably take time. But at some stage acceptance is necessary, not just for the parents' own peace of mind, but also for the good of their children. Otherwise, as Fitzpatrick asks, ‘what happens to the child, the human being, who is seen only as a "burden"?' Of course, raising a child with severe learning difficulties is difficult, but it is a lot more difficult in the absence of acceptance.

Parents of children with autism who are bombarded with all kinds of promises of wonder treatments are prevented from working through their grief and reaching the stage of acceptance. All of the emphasis on ‘windows of opportunity' and the importance of ‘early intervention' puts an immense amount of pressure on parents of children with autism and other learning difficulties, who often end up running around desperately seeking a ‘cure'.

The Parents Who Give Their Children Bleach Enemas to 'Cure' Them of Autism (Pt 3)

One point I need to clarify in regards to pathogens and causality.  Without jumping too far ahead, these are the specific pathogens I am referring too (see No More Bleach if you want some sick pictures):
It is thought that they also feed on blood, because some come out with their heads covered with blood. (How do they know it’s a head? And if they feed on fecal matter by osmosis in those long channels, how and why do they penetrate the intestinal wall and get at the blood?) Volinsky and Gubarev tell us that people with alkaline blood (pH 8-10) are the most susceptible. They helpfully tell us that blood pH can be determined by examining the color of the conjunctiva of the eye: bright pink signifies normal blood pH, bright red means alkaline, and pale means acidic blood. (In case you don’t realize how colossally ridiculous this is, people with a blood pH of 8-10 would not be “susceptible” to anything because they would be dead, and the color of the conjunctiva has nothing whatsoever to do with pH; it becomes redder with infection or inflammation and becomes paler with anemia.)
They are call “ropeworms” and the reason I point this out is they are non-existent prior to 2009.  These are the specific “pathogens” I am referring to and as you will see, the use of MMS would be counter-intuitive based on size alone.  Their very existence defy science as Hall points out. I will have a more thorough take down on this issue in a future posting.

That aside, there is legitimate research and studies being done concerning GI issues and they do appear contradictory if one does not understand how the science or how the peer review process work.  (Some take the conservative language used by the writers as evidence of a cover-up forgetting that correlation does not mean causation; it just means there may be a link) :
A [2010] multidisciplinary panel reviewed the medical literature with the aim of generating evidence-based recommendations for diagnostic evaluation and management of gastrointestinal problems in this patient population. The panel concluded that evidence-based recommendations are not yet available.  The consensus expert opinion of the panel was that individuals with ASDs deserve the same thoroughness and standard of care in the diagnostic workup and treatment of gastrointestinal concerns as should occur for patients without ASDs.
In other words, as Steven Novella notes, "They do not require any special workup, but neither should their GI symptoms be ignored. They further recommend that special intervention may be necessary for the behavioral consequences of GI symptoms when they do occur. When a child with ASD does have a GI disorder, the pain and other symptoms may trigger problem behavior, and therefore special care may need to be taken not only to treat the GI symptoms but to mitigate the negative effect on behavior.

“For professionals and for parents the panel concludes that there are no special diets that have been shown to be of benefit in children with ASD, despite anecdotal reports. Further, children on special diets may be at risk for malnutrition, and therefore nutritional status needs to be assessed.”

In a 2014 study, these same results are mirrored.  GI symptoms are present at a higher rate but science doesn’t know why.  Science doesn’t know how these GI disturbances may be related to brain function; hence, calling for more research.
Results indicate greater prevalence of GI symptoms among children with ASD compared with control children,,,. Future research must address critical questions about the causes and long-term impact of GI symptoms in ASD. Such analyses will require more systematic research and clinical activities, including improved diagnostic screening, standardized assessment, and exploration of potential moderators (eg, dietary restrictions).
That is why research such as this 2013 study are important, as it explores the link between mom’s stress, baby’s gut bacteria and brain development.
,,,Current evidence points to a likely influence of maternal stress experience on the maternal vaginal microbiome,,,.  As the neonate’s gut is initially populated by the maternal vaginal microbiome following passage through the birth canal, changes in the vaginal microbiome produced by maternal stress experience would then alter this initial microbe population,,,.  From these findings we hypothesize that the vaginal microbiome is modulated by stress through changes in the mucosal immunity, and that these changes in the vaginal microbiome alter the initial population of the offspring’s gut microbiome impacting neurodevelopment.
Or this study that also examines the diversity of gut microbiome:
,,,Increasing evidence from recent high-throughput sequencing analyses indicates that disturbances in composition and diversity of gut microbiome are associated with various disease conditions. However, microbiome-level studies on autism are limited and mostly focused on pathogenic bacteria. Therefore, here we aimed to define systemic changes in gut microbiome associated with autism and autism-related GI problems,,,. Unexpectedly, the presence of autistic symptoms, rather than the severity of GI symptoms, was associated with less diverse gut microbiomes,,,.  However, multivariate analyses showed that autism-related changes in both overall diversity and individual genus abundances were correlated with the presence of autistic symptoms but not with their diet patterns. Taken together, autism and accompanying GI symptoms were characterized by distinct and less diverse gut microbial compositions with lower levels of Prevotella, Coprococcus, and unclassified Veillonellaceae.
What is important to take away from all of the above, none of these studies are saying the subject matter under discussion is the 'cause' of autism; none of the studies suggest that a “cure” has been found.  All that was found was GI issues are correlated with autism.  A correlation that may have been studied sooner if not for the baggage of the 1998 Wakefield study were he concluded that a persistent measles infection “caused” by the use of MMR led to a “leaky” gut which, in turn, led to autism.
__________
Note:  There appears to be a big kafuffle surrounding the 2014 Pediatrics review by McElhanon et al. that I cited above.  Not with the study itself but how their findings are being interpreted (by those in the pro and anti vaccine crowds) and the implications.

My purpose in pointing out the Wakefield study is twofold.  First, the perceived set back that the ensuing debacle may have caused.  Second, as Willingham points out in a subsequent comment, the “cures” (MMS being one example) offered to parents of autistic children can be traced back to the flawed Wakefield study:
And the GI connection in the “autism world” *has* been linked very strongly with DAN quackery and antivax lobbies for precisely the reason that they adhere to Wakefield’s claims and try to blame the gut issues on vaccines–and then have the loudest voices peddling their “cures” to parents. No one “needs” someone to blame for that. There is someone to blame, and it’s not hypocrisy to point that out–it’s called “tracing a path.” A simple google on “autism” and “gut” will make that abundantly clear.
Overall, it is an issue that is way beyond what I want to present (the crackpottery surrounding MMS specifically) but an issue that does warrant consideration.  Even if Wakefield was right, and there did exist a causal association of ASD and GI issues following MMR, his professional misconduct when performing this study would still warrant the punishment he received.

I may come back and explore this “controversy” as an interesting point has been made or implied in Willingham’s piece and the ensuing comments:
It seems that GI issues are frequently comorbid with neurodevelopmental disorders—not just with ASD–but without any apparent association with MMR:  “That in spite of the fact that anxiety is a key feature of autism and that research suggests that autism and anxiety are indeed linked.  And that gut conditions like diarrhea and constipation and gut pain are often related to anxiety.
Anxiety is a key component in my battle with bipolar and my ensuing agoraphobia.

The Parents Who Give Their Children Bleach Enemas to 'Cure' Them of Autism (Pt 2)

See Part 1 here,,,

Also of interest, Humble likes to state that the industrial use of CD is raved about because of its so-called "selectivity" (it only kills the bad stuff).  So I took a look at a few of his citations and what I found, "selective ignorance."  If one where to take a look at his notes and compare his statements to the actual source material, you would find that 2 + 2 = 5.  In other words, Humble leaves out the important stuff, "the whole biomed movement is based on mangling language and taking research findings to bizarre and absurd conclusions in a battle to rid their child of autism. It doesn’t even matter whether those findings are substantiated or just ones made up by the likes of Andrew Wakefield."

Here is one such example from a 2010 email interview which I chose as it hits both Humble's and Rivera's main talking points of "how" CD "works" (it doesn't).  I have also interjected some of the hogwash from Rivera‘s CD Autism site as well.

[Although Jim Humble is he main purveyor of MMS, it is Kerry Rivera who pushes its use for “recovering autism.”  There is a very fine dividing line between the two, Humble is the “pope” (Archbishop) while Rivera is a bishop in Humble’s Genesis II church.  Since Rivera’s protocol is based on Humble’s shitty work, I find her the more dangerous of the two.  There are others, but for this discussion I am focusing just on Humble and Rivera.]

Humble: WE'LL THE FACT IS THAT CELL WALLS IN THE THROAT AND STOMACH ARE NOT THE SAME AS CELL WALLS IN PATHOGENS.

Excuse me,,, Jim,,, mammals don't have "cell walls" - ya know, basic biology, "Animal cells are typical of the eukaryotic cell, enclosed by a plasma membrane and containing a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles. Unlike the eukaryotic cells of plants and fungi, animal cells do not have a cell wall,,,."

Since Humble used the term "pathogen" it is helpful to know exactly what it is.  The term is used to describe an infectious agent that causes disease in its host, such as:
  • a virus - does not have a cell wall
  • bacterium - does have a cell wall
  • prion - (responsible for mad cow disease and Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease) - does not have a cell wall and not considered living organisms because they are misfolded protein molecules. (In fact MMS would be a pointless treatment as they "are resistant to denaturation by chemical and physical agents.")
  • fungus - member of a large group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and molds,,, as well as the more familiar mushrooms; fungal cells have cell walls that contain chitin,,,
  • or parasite - a complex set of little beasties with differing classifications based on their interactions with their hosts and on their life cycles.  Too many variables to highlight individually, but it is important to note, "Should the organism pass the mouth, the stomach is the next line of defense. The stomach contains hydrochloric acid and gastric acids, which makes its pH level around 2. In this environment, the acidity of the stomach helps kill most microorganisms that try to invade the body through the gastric intestinal tract."  (This would make using MMS as prescribed by Humble redundant.)
So basically, there are different types of pathogens, it is not an all encompassing term nor is it one specific little beastie as Humble implies.  Rivera pushes idea to the breaking point as Autismum notes, "You got icky germs and yucky parasites but are careful to cover your bases to include fungi and heavy metals. I call that widening your market."

If the CLO2 is strong enough to kill or rid the body of these pathogens (as claimed by Humble/Rivera) imagine what it does to the cells in our bodies.  I will repeat what I stated in Part 1, human tissue is made up of the same organic molecules of parasites, viruses, and bacteria; our tissue and cells will meet the same fate as those we wish to eliminate.  That makes the following all the more dangerous!

PUNCHING A HOLE IN A CELL WALL IN THE BODY IS MUCH DIFFERENT HAVING TO DO WITH THE OXIDATION POTENTIAL OF SUCH CELL WALLS. IN CASE YOU WANT TO LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET, CHLORINE DIOXIDE HAS AN OXIDATION POTENTIAL OF .95 VOLTS, MUCH LESS THAT WHAT IS REQURED TO OXIDIZE BODY CELLS.

So I had to do some serious digging (and a lot of mental gymnastics) to try and figure out exactly what Humble was driving at with this point.  I believe, that the answer actually lays with Rivera. The main premise (CD works because of "selectivity") and why (it only kills the bad stuff), to quote Matt Carey (in response to a comment I made over at LBRB) "the argument Kerri Rivera makes just comes across as “sciencey” terminology that is in the end gibberish or just flat out wrong."

It boils down to this,,, The belief that autism is "made up of" or caused by ("caused" being the key word):  virus, bacteria, parasites, yeast, heavy metals, inflammation, food allergies.

Rivera specifically, ignores that autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that has to do with how the brain develops during early life. It has nothing to do with worms, toxins, or pathogens.  It is a developmental delay not necessarily developmental stasis.

Without proper scientific evidence (of which there can be none due to the nature of MMS - think of the vaxx v. un-vaxx studies so clamored for by the GoV brigade led by Jenny McCarthy) to back up any of the claims made by Rivera - A total of 174 children have so far been recovered,,, - there is no way to determine whether the so-called improvements are a result of her protocol or normal developmental progression.  Without science to back such claims, all that is left is anecdotes.   We all know anecdotes are not data.

In other words, the entire protocol is based on a flawed belief making any discussion of this "oxidation potential of .95 volts" a moot point; there are no "pathogens" (at least not the kind Rivera speaks of).  If anything the only outcome would be the destruction of normal gut-flora and the tissue of the GI tract.  This alone should tell you that what Rivera presents is garbage and I could stop there and be satisfied but I really want to understand where this delusion belief is coming from.  (I will give you a bit of foreshadowing Pathogens = Body Thetans.)

Show Notes - Hyperbole gets you no where

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/beck-anti-vaxxers-are-being-persecuted-just-galileo

"I'm interested in moving to common sense. I'm interested in moving in the direction of freedom," Beck said. "And so when it comes to these measles vaccinations, we have a lot in common with the left ... and we have to reach out to allies."
Common sense dictates one follows the evidence as presented by science - vaccines work.  Freedom has a price as a citizen of this country; that is following the mandates and laws of our country.  Vaccines are not a rallying point for partisan politics.
"We don't know what is going on with autism.  We dont know what is happening to our children and our families."
We may not know what causes Autism, but science is working damn hard figuring it out.  Researchers have identified a number of genes associated with the disorder and studies of people with Autism have found irregularities in several regions of the brain.

Other studies suggest that people with Autism have abnormal levels of serotonin or other neurotransmitters in the brain.  Leading researchers to explore disruption of normal brain development early in fetal development.
While these findings are intriguing, they are preliminary and require further study.

Although science has not given us a "specific" answer as to the cause, it has given us therapies and behavioral interventions that have improved the outcomes for those affect and their families.  Science has also given us a means to properly diagnose and begin the above therapies at a much earlier age.
What the numbers were for Autism 25 years ago,,, 1 in 300 now have autism, it used to be 1 in 5000,,,if this trend continues, by 2025 1 in every 2 will have autism.
Actually Glenn it is 1 in 68 that have been diagnosed with Autism.  Or put correctly 1 in 68 have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

What you fail to qualify in your statement is that most individuals now diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder would never have qualified under the 1980 classification, a classification that did not separate out schizophrenia prior to that time. So it’s not surprising that numbers have increased in the U.S.

Rates of autism have not changed significantly over the past couple of decades, and a 2013 study found that identified autistic children “clustered” where resources for diagnosis and treatment were greater. In other words, where there’s more access to diagnostic services, the autism rate is higher.

And Glenn, citing a paper by Stephanie Seneff, not a smart move if you want to be taken seriously.

Seneff is a researcher, at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.  She is not a biologist; she is not a chemist. And she likes to make up fancy words - exogenous semiotic entropy - it exist no where but her paper.  [A point I should have made in regards to her academic standing, "That does not mean she is wrong – it just means it is misleading to cite her as a researcher and authority. She has published only speculations and gives many presentations, but has not created any new data,,, The dramatic claim she is currently making, the one prompting many scary headlines, is that “Half of All Children Will Be Autistic by 2025.” This is not based on any new research. It is simply a naïve extrapolation of current trends indefinitely into the future – which is always dubious. Seneff is also naively equating correlation with causation.]

As Derek Lowe, a real live organic chemist writing for Corante, so aptly summarizes: "But the evidence given for these assertions, and their connection with disease, while it might look alarming and convincing to someone who has never done research or read a scientific paper, is a spiderweb of “might”, “could”, “is possibly”, “associated with”, and so on. The minute you look at the actual evidence, things disappear."
“If you happen to be a parent and you say, you know, ‘I’m sorry. God gave me a brain, God gave me personal choice and responsibility for those choices, I’m going to say no to those vaccines because I’ve done my homework. Nobody that hasn’t done their homework says no to vaccines.”
“Here’s another group of people that are now being rounded-up and pointed at and called morons and idiots and crackpots and crazies,” he said. “Just totally discredited … Where is anybody saying ‘my gosh, we’re living in the days of Galileo’? The church has become the state and if you don’t practice their religion exactly the way they tell you to practice it, you’re done.”
So, if I understand Beck correctly, these brave individual who cling to a thoroughly discredited study claiming a link between vaccines and autism are actually the modern equivalent of Galileo?

There’s only one tiny problem with the analogy, (besides the fact it didn't work last year with the creationist that Beck assigned the Galileo stature too) Galileo was a scientist.  His findings (that the Earth revolves around the Sun) were based on scientific observation and demonstrable, repeatable proof,,, the Wakefield study of 1998 was not.

So these "morons and idiots and crackpots and crazies" are being discredited with scientific facts.  Then again, perhaps anti-vaxxers should be persecuted as well.

Remember that personal responsibility you spoke of, here is what I have to say:  When your choices result in the deaths of others, you do deserve persecution.   So when you choose not to protect your child and others from preventable diseases, you should be held accountable as well.
