Confirmation bias at its finest

So let's take a look, as this sounds a wee bit scary,,, and is filled with many science-y words.
Scientists in China have discovered more than 30 mutations of the new coronavirus, which they say may partly explain why it has been more deadly in certain parts of the world.

"This article is a preprint and has not been certified by peer review [what does this mean?]. It reports new medical research that has yet to be evaluated and so should not be used to guide clinical practice.

Researchers from Zhejiang University said they have "direct evidence" that the virus "has acquired mutations capable of substantially changing its pathogenicity".

Pathogenicity refers to the ability of an organism to cause disease (ie harm the host).

Using "ultra-deep sequencing", researchers identified 33 mutations of the coronavirus - known as SARS-CoV-2 - of which 19 were new.

As noted above, this study has not been peer reviewed. While the findings may have further ramifications, the sample size is small and the findings have yet to be confirmed.  Remember, this is a week after the announcement of only 8  strains and slow mutation rate.
While researchers caution they're only seeing the tip of the iceberg, the tiny differences between the virus strains suggest shelter-in-place orders are working in some areas and that no one strain of the virus is more deadly than another. They also say it does not appear the strains will grow more lethal as they evolve.

“The virus mutates so slowly that the virus strains are fundamentally very similar to each other,” said Charles Chiu, a professor of medicine and infectious disease at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.
But,,, what Jillian glosses over by not reading the actual paper, “Drug and vaccine development, while urgent, need to take the impact of these accumulating mutations into account to avoid potential pitfalls. “ (353-355)

IOWs it's not just about mutations. But how that direction impacts vaccine development.

Stated another way, the ability of the new coronavirus to mutate may account for different impacts of the disease in various parts of the world.
This finding could shed light on differences in regional mortality. The pandemic’s infection and death rates vary from one country to another, and many explanations have been proposed.
,,,
In hospitals, Covid-19 has been treated as one disease and patients have received the same treatment regardless of the strain they have. Li and her colleagues suggested that defining mutations in a region might determine actions to fight the virus.
Just because a paper appears to align with your personal agenda or narrative, does not mean the conclusions made by Jillian or the paper are valid.

They have all since recovered from the virus, according to the research which has been published by medRxiv.

A point ignored or discounted by Jillian. You would think she would like to offer her minions some hope. But no, the only thing that matters in Jillian's mind, only Jilly Juice works. There can be nothing but JJ. So of course she is going to ignore this little tidbit.

The findings, which have not been peer-reviewed, were approved by Zhejiang University, the study said.

Jillian didn't offer any commentary besides, “[i]nevitable. “ So comforting. You would think such a world renowned Goggle scientist would offer her thoughts beyond one word.

While the information is valid as far as reporting is concerned – ie no hyperbole. It would have been appropriate if Jillian offered more than just a link to an article.

Reading for comprehension is beyond Jillian's ability. She has selective reading. She only focuses on what confirms her bias, the rest of the information be damned.
