The Stories Keep Coming,,, More for 5/8/22

(Oops forgot to add video,,, sorry!!)

A couple few stories I needed to do a bit more digging on to hopefully understand.

So Louisiana has become impatient. https://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/2022/05/from-the-moment-of-fertilization-louisiana-advances-bill-criminalizing-abortion-as-homicide-women-doctors-could-be-jailed/ As one of sponsors of the bill states, “No compromises; no more waiting,” Gunter said. “The bloodshed in our land is so great we have a duty … to protect the least of these among us.” (Note:: Rev. Brian Gunter of First Baptist Church in Livingston.)

A Louisiana House committee by a vote of 7-2 advanced a bill that decrees human life begins at the moment of fertilization, abortion is felony murder, and the state has the right to ignore any federal law or court ruling – even the Supreme Court – that is in opposition to those claims. Any pregnant person who obtains an abortion, and anyone assisting them could be charged with homicide, prosecuted, and sent to prison if convicted. Louisiana has a death penalty statute on the books.

While I believe there may be some fatal flaws concerning said bill, this comment raises an interesting point. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10166589313910615&id=358168880614&comment_id=1001588927140385

You will live in a state where the "religious beliefs" of a subgroup of "Christians" are the law, much like in Iran. And if you resist, you will be arrested. How long till they give the death penalty for those violating the new "religious" laws?

I have said for years that EVERY point the Reich argues is planned and has been for many years. https://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/janet-porter-hopes-to-apply-the-strategy-behind-texas-heartbeat-bill-to-lgbtq-issues-in-public-schools/

While this is currently happening in Oklahoma, I can guarantee it is happening elsewhere. And just because the majority of people likely share Cook’s views doesn’t give her the right to push her ridiculous beliefs on kids when she’s literally being paid to educate them instead.

https://ffrf.org/news/news-releases/item/40950-tulsa-public-schools-must-fire-proselytizing-teacher-ffrf-insists

A concerned Tulsa Public Schools student has informed the state/church watchdog that Amy Cook, a biology teacher at Memorial High School, has been abusing her position and proselytizing her students. Cook reportedly set up a prayer room in the back of her classroom, which had a wall covered in prayers and bible verses where she encouraged her students to pray. A few weeks after our complainant placed a non-Christian prayer in the prayer room, Cook reportedly pulled the person out of class and told our complainant of the need to repent or the consequence would be to “burn in hell,” saying that she was required to intervene as a “good Christian.”

Cook describes on a website why her personal religious beliefs trump her secular duties as a teacher and how she views her position as a teacher to be political,,,

So this commercial has garnered much attention. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju3Jm7pvI-o Kandiss Taylor, a Republican candidate for governor in Georgia, released a campaign ad claiming that a Satanic "New World Order" has taken over the world. Taylor's ad touted her candidacy to "stand up to the Luciferian Cabal" and "bring the Satanic Regime to its knees."

As David Pakman noted, “Kandiss Taylor releases one of the most bizarre and disturbing campaign ads in history .” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEdbuJcKGFI In less than 2 minutes she lays it all on the line, informing us what she holds dear:: anti-vaxx, demons, anti-semitism, anti-abortion, dominionism, and defeating the NWO.

Remember, this is the woman whose platform she proudly displays on the side of her campaign bus:: Jesus, guns, babies. https://twitter.com/KandissTaylor/status/1494312728332283908

A final note to this debacle, Stew Peters revealed that his film crew and executive producer—white nationalist Lauren Witzke—are responsible for producing Kandiss Taylor's Georgia Guidestones ad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdBvyN45dts

More TWATs for Week Ending 4/3/22

So I wasn't planning on a second video for this week, but shit hit the fan after I started to script. At that point I had one extra story, now I have 10. So again here some more twatwaffles for last week.

Full disclosure, I am diabetic and I also am on Medicaid. Prior to PA enrolling in expanded Medicaid, I fell through the cracks for many years. The following story could have been a major issue without expanded Medicaid; I still am not insulin dependent thankfully.

Without insurance, insulin can cost a shit tonne of money. Anywhere from $300-$1000. The current bill, which has passed the House, caps cost-sharing for a month's supply of insulin starting in 2023 at (whichever amount is lower) $35, or 25% of a plan's negotiated price. Twelve Republicans along with Democrats voted yes to the bill, while the remainder said fuck you. https://www.alternet.org/2022/04/how-did-you-get-elected/

Why the dissension, case in point, this shit bucket has the gall to bitch “about Joe Biden not fixing the price of gas for months” in order to save some pennies to spend at Starbucks. https://twitter.com/ash_says_what/status/1509610768773398529 Versus saving hundreds if not thousands per month and avoiding another meal of mac-n-cheese. And FYI, the shit bucket highlighted is Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-R).

Janet Folger Porter Christian nationalist, anti-abortion zealot and anti-vaxxer who believes “that COVID-19 vaccines, not COVID-19, are the enemy. And Porter is saying that Christians who have been vaccinated for COVID-19 need to pray to God for forgiveness and not get any more booster shots.”

https://www.alternet.org/2022/03/this-gop-congressional-candidate-believes-christians-needed-forgiveness-for-getting-19-vaccines/

Did I say she is also running for a U.S. House seat in Ohio?

And to be clear, Covid vaccines have not been linked to any deaths according to a March 2022 study published in The Lancet. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(22)00054-8/fulltext

Safety data from more than 298 million doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine administered in the first 6 months of the US vaccination programme show that most reported adverse events were mild and short in duration.

This is Clay Clark again, from the ReAwaken America Tour. Same speech as his baseless Google screed. He's not toxic, he's a male body part that will remain nameless. https://www.alternet.org/2022/03/clay-clark-call-in-gay/

No Lauren, sexual identity and/or sexuality is not a choice.

https://www.alternet.org/2022/04/lauren-boebert-twisted-proposal-lgbtq/

Blackburn has stated https://twitter.com/MarshaBlackburn/status/1510379532360077313 what approximately 22% of ALL Americans are thinking. Both sides of the isle.

The issue as numerous comments note, “Critical Race Theory isn’t taught until law school. Teaching kids about racism and slavery is just called history.” https://twitter.com/m_clarkson78/status/1510661386573021186

So I hemmed and hawed at whether to add the audio clip. I decided against it as Jones' channel is banned by YT. Anywho this is about homophobe MTG. https://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/marjorie-taylor-greene-calls-lgbtq-movement-predatorial-promises-alex-jones-legislation/

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene joined radical conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his “InfoWars” show Wednesday, declaring that the LGBTQ movement is “predatorial,” while simultaneously insisting that she is not homophobic. By the end of the segment, she promised Jones that she would introduce federal legislation like Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill to eliminate federal funding for any school that is “indoctrinating children.”

,,,

Greene’s latest comments highlight how the right has revamped troubling false narratives about gay men being predators and pedophiles and applied them broadly to the LGBTQ movement. Both Jones and Greene also returned to another false narrative: that by exposing people to LGBTQ issues, kids could essentially “catch” being gay or trans.

So this episode ended up shorter than I thought as 2 stories didn't pass the smell test and the others weren't as thought provoking as originally thought. I apologize for the choppy verbalization as these stories didn't flow together in the manner I prefer. But I tried,,,,
