 Joe Lombardo, the former Clark County sheriff who rebranded in the primary as a hardline right-winger, is projected by the Associated Press to defeat Gilbert, a COVID truther and voter fraud conspiracy theorist who marched on the Capitol on Jan. 6. Lombardo led Gilbert 38.4% to 27.6% with 82% of precincts reporting Wednesday morning.

Gilbert immediately declared that he would not concede the race and may even file a lawsuit contesting the race.

"Maybe the establishment and swamp rats forgot who they're dealing with," he wrote on Facebook, adding a rat emoji. "I smell a lawsuit because this STINKS! I will concede nothing. No one likes No Show Joe and he absolutely is not beating me, and will not beat me in a fair fight/race. There's a reason a real fighter with real legal teams is in this fight."

We have new details on a case we’ve been following for weeks. An Auburn man gained national attention after being arrested for leaving flowers on his fiancée’s grave.

The arrest warrant for Winston Hagans had a charge for littering after he left a flower box on his fiancée’s grave. Earlier today, the judge heard both sides on if a flower box should be considered litter or not.

In court during Thursday’s bench trial, Judge Jim McLaughlin found Hagans guilty of criminal littering after leaving flowers on his fiancée’s grave with a $50 charge for littering and a court fine of $250.

The defense plans to appeal the decision. However, the city prosecutor said there would be no jail time if Hagans agreed not to place any more boxes on the grave.

Prosecutors say a doorbell security camera captured Lucey pouring lighter fluid on the porch of The Satanic Temple headquarters, lighting a fire and walking away Friday night.

Lucey, who was wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the word “God,” also left a backpack containing a copy of the U.S. Constitution and a Bible.

I know of no one, who made a similar life “decision.” I have known since I was 5 that I was different. While I am a wee bit behind in my reading (due to health), I am fairly certain in saying biological factors drive homosexuality.

2] You seem to be conflating sexual orientation with gender identity.

During an appearance on The Stew Peters Show, Pastor Mark Burns was asked by host Jane Ruby to commit to voting for transphobic laws that target LGBTQ+ children and their parents and ending what she called “this war on children.” Burns went much further than committing to voting for legislation.

Timmons won more than 50 percent of the GOP vote, staving off a runoff election and advancing to the general against Democrat Ken Hill.

Despite being a longtime supporter of Trump, Burns did not earn a coveted endorsement from the former president. Trump instead backed Timmons, who voted against certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election.

A Few More for Week Ending 6/5/22

In a subsequent interview, Campbell presents as evidence, the graphic novel Gender Queer, a book that isn’t part of any known public school curriculum in MA.

She is so divorced from reality, Campbell states, parent's voices are being suppressed for asking what their children are being taught. The reality, families, have the option to review what’s in the curriculum. They have the option to opt out, and that’s true for all of public schools in Massachusetts.

With choosing the shock jock approach, with focusing on what many consider vile language, Campbell's overall message is lost. IMO she has hurt her chances as well as the GQPs.

Chaos has erupted in an election for Utah County Attorney after incumbent David Leavitt was forced to deny QAnon-style claims that he and his wife engaged in cannibalism and ritual sex abuse of children.

Local news station KUTV reports that Leavitt held a press conference this week in which he lashed out at the Utah County Sheriff’s Office for announcing an investigation into "a child sex abuse ring that operated in Utah, Juab, and Sanpete counties between 1990 and 2010."

Leavitt told reporters that he and his wife had both been investigated for being part of the alleged abuse ring, but had been cleared of any wrongdoing. He then accused Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith of making the announcement as a way to hurt him politically ahead of an upcoming election.

Authorities have arrested a man from Palm Beach County, Florida, on charges of threatening Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert.

Matthew Lee Comiskey is accused of tweeting out violent messages directed at the Western Slope Republican, including messages that read “I got my 2 amendment tool all ready to destroy Lauren’s face. Hopefully in front of her kids” and “If I ever saw Lauren I’d be glad to take her out and go to prison. Would be a job well done.” 

Several of the tweets mentioned the Second Amendment; Boebert is a vocal supporter of gun rights.

According to the indictment, the threats came in five tweets posted in August and September of last year. Comiskey is charged with five counts of making interstate threats, one for each message. The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years each.

In the recently filed lawsuit, patient Thomas D’Alessandro has sued Derges for alleged medical negligence. D’Alessandro alleges that Derges was using “a fake stem-cell treatment to alleviate lower back pain.”

The new suit includes Derges’ husband Daniel Derges as a defendant too as well as their clinic Ozark Valley Medical Clinic. From the St. Louis Post Dispatch:

“…in his lawsuit, D’Alessandro says she held herself out as a doctor during a presentation to potential patients about stem-cell treatments.

“At the presentation, defendant Patricia Derges gave the impression to participants that she was a licensed physician and that her clinic provided ‘stem cell’ injections capable of treating, among other things, chronic pain,” the lawsuit notes.

After two rounds of injections costing more than $6,000, D’Alessandro said there was no improvement in his back pain.”
