ADDENDUM::Bret Baier No Longer Fair and Balanced on Homosexuality - BarbWire.com

Well it didn't take long for the Reich to go ape-shit over Brett Baier's "defection" or Jeremy Hooper's so-called "intolerance" as highlighted by his piece showing what Legatus is all about.

As noted by Hooper (see previous posting), "Legatus is a very anti-gay organization of Catholics." He then demonstrates their religiously based anti-gay stance by pointing to exemplars from their own site.  There is no "call-to-arms" just a simple statement, "Not the choice I would make if I wanted gay people to drink my beer, wanted political people to see me as unbiased, or wanted my acting to take focus above my views."

As for Baier, the mouth of the Reich - Bryan Fischer - had this to say:

By pulling out of this event, Baier has clearly chosen sides in the culture war. He only pulled out under pressure from an extremist pro-homosexual advocacy group, which managed to bully him into submission.

Baier’s decision continues a string of worrying decisions by Fox News and Fox News personnel that raise questions about its ability to be even-handed and unbiased when the subject is non-normative sexual behavior. Fox News anchors have proudly shown up on the red carpet of radical pro-homosexual events, and Out Magazine has included Shepard Smith in its “Power List” of important and influential homosexuals, a listing which Smith to my knowledge has never denied.

Mr. Baier said last year, “I truly try not to lean.” Well, on this one he’s leaned so far he has fallen over.
Bottom line: it is impossible to remain neutral in the culture war on the issue of homosexuality. You are either with God on the matter or you are not.

You are entitled to your dissenting opinion Mr. Fischer just as much as Mr. Sinise, Mr. Baier and Mr. Coors are to theirs.

It started innocently enough. Of all people,Gary Sinise? But before I could finish my background search concerning Legatus or get too pissed off, Sinise had already withdrawn:

For me, faith has been a catalyst for my mission to honor the men and women who serve in our nation’s military. When I accepted the invitation to speak at the Legatus conference on Veterans issues and share my story, I was unaware of the controversy surrounding some of the participants, and their views on personal matters. I don’t want my mission—which is designed to be unifying—to be disrupted by these, or any controversies, and therefore have decided to withdraw.

Then yesterday, Brett Baier withdrew:

“Bret Baier has withdrawn his participation as a speaker at the upcoming Legatus Summit due to the controversy surrounding some editorial stances in the organization’s magazine,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement to TVNewser. “Bret accepted the invitation to speak about his book, his faith, and his son’s congenital heart disease. He was unaware of these articles or the controversy surrounding them.”

And now it seems, according to Joe.My.God., Peter Coors has dropped out as well.

Still planning on attending, Gov. Jindal of Louisianna, no shock there.
