 A Catholic priest was arrested Thursday on charges of possessing child pornography.

Investigators took St. Joseph Catholic Church Rev. Robert McWilliams into custody Thursday at the church. He is charged with four counts of possessing child pornography and one count of possessing criminal tools.

The criminal complaint was filed in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. McWilliams, 39, is being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.

Irish ex-priest arrested in Portugal

Former priest, Limerick-born Oliver O'Grady arrested on child pornography charges and will be returned to Ireland to face up to his crimes.

The former Catholic priest Oliver O'Grady has been arrested in the Algarve, in Portugal, under a European Arrest Warrant.

O'Grady, born in Limerick, was ordained as a priest in California in 1971. The pedophile was sentenced to 14 years in prison in the United States for the rape and sexual abuse of at least 25 children, including two young brothers.

In 2006, O'Grady was the subject of an award-winning documentary, Deliver Us from Evil. The movie detailed how he preyed on children and how the Catholic church moved him from parish to parish and knew that abuses were happening.

A former minister at a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-affiliated church in North Carolina has pleaded guilty to enticing and coercing a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.

Daniel Franklin Heath, who stepped down in May after 10 years on staff at First Baptist Church in Wilson, North Carolina, admitted to a federal court in Texas that he knew the unnamed minor was under 18 and living with her parents in Texas when he asked her to take photos and videos of herself engaging in sexually explicit conduct on her cellular phone and send the images to him.

Heath, 33, admitted his communications with the victim were romantic in nature, with both parties declaring themselves to be “in love.” Prosecutors said Heath required the girl to “submit” to him in matters including what to wear and to obtain his consent before touching her own body, but he did not agree with that part of a statement of stipulated facts.

Authorities allege a Wilson pastor enticed a 16-year-old girl to create child pornography for more than a year.

Wilson police charged 33-year-old Daniel Franklin Heath, an associate pastor at First Baptist Church in Wilson with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Heath, who has been the church’s associate pastor for three years, was the youth pastor there for seven years prior to his current role.

The FBI contacted the Wilson Police Department in April regarding Heath, who was the subject of an ongoing investigation, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud.

A Utah bishop for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was arrested after he was reported for distributing child pornography and told investigators he took pictures of children while on camping trips in his role as a Church leader.

Timothy Jame Hallows, 61, of Kaysville, Utah, is held without bail in Davis County after his arrest for eight counts that were amended to sexual exploitation of a minor. Probable cause documents state that he spoke with investigators after a tip led them to his IP address. In the documents, law enforcement asked for high bail or no bail because they believe Hallows could be a threat to the community, partly because of his position of trust as a bishop — the leader of a congregation, who typically meets alone with children.

A law enforcement official said additional charges are anticipated. Hallows was removed as bishop of his Kaysville ward.

A pastor who served at a Bergen County church for five years has been arrested on federal charges of having child pornography in a Massachusetts town where he had been working as a kindergarten teacher.

The Rev. Gregory C. Lisby, pastor at Christ Church in Ridgewood from June 2010 through May 2015, was arrested by the FBI on Thursday following a raid of the rectory of the Worcester Episcopal church where he lived with his husband, according to court documents. A criminal complaint states 

Lisby, 40, was hired for the 2019-2020 school year as a teacher for Holyoke Public Schools.

The federal warrant charges Lisby with possession of child pornography and states a Microsoft employee discovered the images and videos on a company server in December 2018 and reported them to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

A Kentucky vocational school principal is facing child porn charges — a decade after he banned books for “soft pornography” and homosexual content, according to a report.

Philip Todd Wilson, 54, was busted Tuesday after state troopers received a tip that he was in possession of explicit images involving a minor, and possibly distributing the revolting photos, Kentucky State Police announced.

Wilson, principal of the Clark County Area Technology Center in Winchester, was later hit with 15 counts each of distributing and possessing child porn, police said.
He is no longer employed by the school, a spokeswoman for the Kentucky Department of Education told the Louisville Courier-Journal.

A Liberty University adjunct faculty member has been indicted on six charges of filming and photographing minors in a state of undress.

David DeHaven, who lives in Fincastle, was arrested Aug. 7 after a Botetourt County grand jury indicted him. He is scheduled for trial Dec. 17.

 DeHaven, 49, taught for Liberty University Online as an adjunct instructor of business. Scott Lamb, senior vice president of communications at Liberty University, said DeHaven has been suspended pending the outcome of the charges. DeHaven also operates D3 Coaching, an executive coaching and strategy consulting business.

Kindergarten teacher at suburban Baptist school charged with sexual assault, child porn solicitation involving 2 students, police say - Chicago Tribune

A kindergarten teacher at a private religious school in suburban Burbank has been charged with sexual assault and solicitation of child pornography stemming from alleged encounters with two underage students, the Cook County sheriff’s office announced Tuesday.

Shannon Griffin, 49, of Oak Lawn, a teacher at Jordan Baptist School, was taken into custody Monday after a monthslong investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators allege that Griffin “engaged in sexual conduct” with a male underage student who was enrolled at the school, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Griffin is also charged with sending nude pictures and videos of herself to that minor and another juvenile at the school, both males, and asking the minors to send her images, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police believe there are more victims and possibly more suspects involved after an investigation into two men who have been accused of raping and taking pornographic pictures of children.

On Wednesday, William Bustillos III, 25, of Lockland confessed to police that he raped a 5-year-old boy and photographed the child for "sexual gratification," authorities said. During his confession, Bustillos indicated to police that he was sharing the pornography with others in the Cincinnati area, police said.

Bustillos' arrest stems from an investigation into Joseph Suder, 36, of Milford by the Milford Police Department. Police did not give additional details on the relationship between the two men.

A former Eugene church music ministry leader charged in a federal child pornography case last year now is wanted in relation to alleged sexual abuse of a child once in his care.

A warrant was issued last month for the arrest of Edward Samuel Thompson on charges filed July 30. He is in a federal correctional institution in Sheridan awaiting trial in the child pornography case. He will be brought to Lane County later this week and arraigned on two new charges — first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse — Thursday in Lane County Circuit Court.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the alleged abuse occurred between 2012 and 2018. During the 2018 investigation of the case, authorities learned Thompson, who worked at Christ Fellowship Church on River Road, had regularly babysat an elementary school-age child since the child was a toddler.

A Cass County church leader and former teacher was arrested on fifteen felony child pornography charges Friday.

Robert Dale Barkman, 66, of Atlanta, was arrested and his bond set for just over $1 million.

He was bailed out under special conditions, including no contact with children under 18 years of age. He will also have to wear a GPS leg monitor and is restricted to Cass and Bowie Counties in Texas.

The Cass County District Attorney’s Office says their investigation into Barkman began in June when suspicious images were found on his work computer at church, where he served as a youth leader and secretary.

Sarasota County Sheriff's officials tell news outlets that 66-year-old Charles Andrews was arrested Tuesday. He's charged with 500 felony counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of failing to meet sex offender requirements.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped authorities to two email accounts belonging to Andrews used to download child porn. They traced the accounts to his home IP address.

Kansas priest charged with possessing child pornography - SFGate

A Kansas priest has been charged with one count of possessing child pornography.

The Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas, said in a news release Thursday that it reported Christopher Rossman to authorities in September 2016 after learning he had accessed inappropriate content on his computer. Rossman was suspended from the ministry at that time.

The archdiocese said it received information that an FBI investigation resulted in the charge being filed.

During a joint investigation by the Durham County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, officials found 40-year-old Phillip Stephen Stallings downloaded media that involved minors engaging in sexual activities.

He was arrested on Wednesday and charged with 28 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 28 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

A Chambersburg-area pastor was jailed last week, accused of possessing sexually explicit images of bondage scenarios involving children that also had his face superimposed into them.

The Office of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force did the investigation into Stephen L. Dunn, 68, and filed charges on Thursday, according to court documents.

AG Josh Shapiro pointed out Dunn is a pastor in Franklin County.

Dunn’s personal website states that he has been a veteran pastor for more than 48 years, associated with four ministries including being the Director of Bridgebuilders Ministries, which he states is his “personal ministry” to help churches be healthy. He also lists himself as interim executive pastor for a Hanover church.

Dunn lists his main job as the director of the Eastern Regional Conference of the Churches of God Ministry Training Institute.

A Franklin County pastor is facing charges after authorities say that during a child-pornography investigation, they found superimposed images of his face and children in bondage scenarios.

Stephen Dunn, 68, of Chambersburg, is facing 10 child pornography charges and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, all third-degree felonies, court records indicate. 

“Pastors have a position of power and trust. Stephen Dunn of Franklin (County) broke the trust his community placed in him as their pastor when he was found with child pornography,” state Attorney General Josh Shapiro said in a statement on Twitter Saturday. “The full force of my office will come to bear on him and anyone threatening the safety of PA children.”

A woman was charged Friday with indecent liberties in a child pornography investigation while she was working at a Greensboro church's day school, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

Alyson Brooke Saunders, 23, who worked at Fellowship Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Day School in Greensboro, was arrested Friday morning and charged with six counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of sex offense on a child by an adult, four counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of crimes against nature.

She is being held under a $1 million bond.

Lothar Konrad Krauth of Great Falls intends to plead guilty to a receipt of child pornography charge.

Court documents filed on March 22 indicate Krauth, a retired Catholic priest, plans to change his plea to guilty at a hearing next week.

Court documents state Homeland Security agents received a cyber report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Oct. 10, 2018.

The report showed a user with an IP address in Great Falls had uploaded an image of a nude prepubescent male child.

A summons to the internet service provider identified the IP address as assigned to Krauth, according to court documents.

Lothar Konrad Krauth, a former priest at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Great Falls, will be formally charged with receipt of child pornography Tuesday in federal court.

Krauth, 80, appeared on a criminal complaint before U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston on Nov. 9 and was released from custody pending an indictment after a hearing Nov. 14.

The complaint alleged that Krauth's computer contained approximately 400 images of child pornography, including children engaging in sexual acts with both adults and other children.

Some of the children depicted were as young as 2 or 3 years old, according to the complaint.

A former pastor of a Montgomery County church is behind bars after he was charged with child abuse and child pornography.

Jerry Zweitzig was arrested in December after detectives were alerted by a tipster. Police searched through his home in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, where they found hundreds of images on a computer depicting a child engaging in sex acts, investigators said. The victim had been assaulted while sleeping and there was evidence of sexual abuse, according to court documents.

Zweitzig is charged with 200 counts of possessing child pornography as well as multiple counts of indecent assault. Investigators believe Zweitzig committed the crimes in both Montgomery and Lancaster counties and that his abuse began more than 10 years ago.
