The board of directors say they knew nothing about the situation before this past May, which would mean one missionary and two leaders knew about Mast’s rampant child abuse yet that information never made it back to the higher-ups… which suggests a complete lack of oversight in this place.

Ex-Toledo pastor Anthony Haynes was sentenced to life in prison in court on Thursday.
Haynes was found guilty of child sex-trafficking, sexually exploiting a child, engaging in a child sex trafficking conspiracy and obstructing a sex trafficking investigation.
After he was initially found guilty, his lawyers filed a motion for a new trial asking that the jury's verdict be vacated.
"Ultimately we got the sentence that I thought justice required, and so no matter how we get there, he's going to be off the streets forever and the victim was heard and the sentence reflects that," said Michael Freeman, Assistant U.S. Attorney.

A second of three Ohio ministers accused of enticing teenage girls to have sex with them has pleaded guilty.
Cordell Jenkins agreed to plead guilty Tuesday to federal charges that include child sex trafficking.
Federal authorities say he was among three Toledo-area pastors who paid teenage girls for sex over the past few years and shared photos and videos of the girls.
A second defendant pleaded guilty last year. A third minister charged in the case is due to go on trial next week.

The wife and stepdaughter of a Toledo pastor accused of child sex-trafficking are facing federal charges after law enforcement officials say they tried to influence one of the victims involved in the case to get her to not testify in an upcoming trial.
Alisa Haynes, 43 — the wife of Anthony Haynes, who is facing federal charges of child sex trafficking and child pornography — and his stepdaughter, Alexis Fortune, 24, are accused of kidnapping one of the teen victims Saturday, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court Toledo.
During that time, they’re accused of pointing a gun at her and choking her with a black computer cord to convince her not to go through with testifying at Mr. Haynes’ trial.
The women are charged with tampering with a witness, victim, or informant just weeks before Mr. Haynes’ trial is scheduled in U.S. District Court, where the victim is slated to testify.

One of three Toledo area pastors caught up in an alleged child sex trafficking scheme admitted in court Monday that he had sex with two minor girls, even at times at his friend's church office.
Kenneth Butler, 38, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to sex traffic children, obstruction of a sex trafficking investigation, and two counts of sex trafficking of children.
Although three of the charges carry maximum possible sentences of life in prison, Butler is to be sentenced to 17½ years in prison as part of a plea agreement. Judge Jack Zouhary scheduled sentencing for Sept. 12.
,,,Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Haynes are being held in jail awaiting trial, which has been tentatively set for Sept. 4. A pretrial hearing and change-of-plea deadline for Mr. Jenkins, Mr. Haynes, and Mr. Jenkins' wife and former Lucas County Administrator Laura Lloyd-Jenkins is scheduled for July 19.

The wife of one of three Ohio pastors accused of child sex trafficking has been indicted on federal charges accusing her of interfering in her husband’s investigation.
U.S. District Court records show 43-year-old Laura Lloyd-Jenkins was arrested Friday in Toledo on such charges as obstructing a sex trafficking investigation and making a false statement.
Court records show she pleaded not guilty and was ordered held pending a detention hearing. Her attorney declined to comment after the arraignment.

Shackled and dressed in different colored jumpsuits, three Toledo pastors appeared Tuesday in U.S. District Court to answer accusations they acted together to entice underage girls to engage in sex for money.
The Rev. Cordell Jenkins, 47, the Rev. Anthony Haynes, 38, and the Rev. Kenneth Butler, 37, were named in an 11-count superseding indictment handed up Tuesday by a federal grand jury charging them with conspiracy to sex traffic children. All three of them pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Michael Freeman, an assistant U.S. Attorney, told the court that if the men are convicted, prosecutors would recommend sentences of life in prison.
“These three men violated the trust of these children and the communities they purported to serve,” U.S. Attorney Justin E. Herdman said in a news release. “We are grateful for the courage of the victims and the dedication of our law enforcement personnel in bringing these men to justice.”

A former pastor facing sex charges involving children was released from the Erie County jail on bond.
Richard Mick, 57, posted an $80,000 bond March 21 to be released from the jail, according to Erie County common pleas court records. Jail records state he was jailed for 181 days.

Rudduck set sentencing for April 19. Dunn could get three to 10 years after both sides agreed to combine sentencing under the kidnapping count.

John Schouten, who founded VGF Church (formerly known as Vineyard Grace Fellowship) in Heath, has admitted to having an inappropriate years-long relationship with a teenage student when he was a newlywed teacher at Liberty Christian Academy over 30 years ago.
The relationship, which occurred before Schouten was a Christian, resulted in the girl becoming pregnant at the age of 19 after she graduated from the school.
Although Schouten officially parted ways with VGF in October, only a few details were reported in the media at the time out of privacy concerns. It was noted that Schouten committed "wrong, evil and illegal" acts that only involved one accuser and took place before his spiritual conversion in the 1980s.
UPDATE:: Priest sentenced to 12 years in prison for three counts of sexual batteryFather Henry Christopher Foxhoven, 45, of Glouster, was charged with eight counts of sexual battery in Athens County Municipal Court Tuesday for alleged sexual conduct with a 17-year-old minor, who was a member of his parish in Glouster.
Henry Christopher Foxhoven was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in the State Penal System for three counts of sexual battery and will be registered as a sex offender for life.
Foxhoven, 45, of Glouster, was a priest at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Glouster, a part of the Diocese of Steubenville. He pleaded guilty to three charges for engaging in sexual conduct with a minor, a parishioner of the church, in the church rectory where he lived.
Each count was four years in prison, totaling a sentence of 12 years. That was a part of an agreement that other charges, such as child pornography or criminal tools, would not be brought against him. If another victim, however, comes forward, he could be charged again.
A Maronite Catholic priest serving as administrator for the Sacred Heart Church in Italian Village was removed from the position by the Diocese of Columbus because of an investigation of an abuse allegation in California.Columbus priest accused of abuse in Los Angeles
Parishioners at Sacred Heart were told at the 4 p.m. Saturday Mass that Father Pierre Albalaa had been ordered to leave the position he had started in March.
The diocese was informed last Monday by the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles that Albalaa was being investigated for a credible allegation of abuse of a minor in 2004 in California. Eparchy is the term for diocese used by Eastern rite Orthodox and Catholic churches.
The Los Angeles-based hierarchy of the Maronite rite of the Catholic Church had ordered that Albalaa be removed from active ministry while the case was being resolved, according to a release from the Diocese of Columbus.
Columbus Bishop Frederick F. Campbell on Monday immediately revoked Albalaa’s privileges in the diocese and directed him to vacate the premises at Sacred Heart. Albalaa complied with the order.
