Gay people are on a mission to put all men in tight pants, a Jehovah's Witness leader has claimed.

Anthony Morris III, a member of the ruling council for Jehovah's Witnesses and appears to prefer a loose slack, warned gay fashion designers could be 'recruiting' people into wearing indecent clothing.

'What’s happened now is that it’s really caught on more, the tight suit jacket and the tight pants,' he said in an audio clip posted recently.

'Better known as tight pants. They are tight all the way down to the ankles. It’s not appropriate. It’s not sound of mind.'

GOPer Who Wrote 'Parasite' Muslims Should Be 'Fragged' Loses Day Job

The chairman of the Big Stone County GOP in Minnesota just lost his day job, after his Facebook posts about Muslim Americans received a larger audience than he intended.

GOP official Jack Whitley was fired from his post at Hardware Hank for publishing screeds that called American Muslims "parasites" that should convert to Christianity or be killed, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.

"They are muslims, they are terrorist (sic), we know where they are from, we know where their buddies are, we know where thier mosque’s (sic) are, we know millions of these parasites travel to Mecca every year and when…FRAG ‘EM!" he wrote in one post.

The state GOP condemned his remarks as "outrageous," and on Monday it was his employer's turn. Bob and Sue Kulbeik, owners of Hardware Hank, fired Whitley from their store after confronting him over his remarks, according to the Tribune.

Televangelist and Religious Right activist Gordon Klingenschmitt will soon be starting a new job as a Republican member of the Colorado House of Representatives. This is a big promotion for Klingenschmitt, who has until now been laboring away as the host of a TV program called “Pray In Jesus Name,” where he offers his own special brand of unhinged comments on issues ranging from gay rights to Obamacare and the animal kingdom.

Klingenschmitt, an exorcist who goes by the nickname “Dr. Chaps,” has promised to “tone down” his rhetoric now that he’s an elected official, but it will take a whole lot of toning down for him to sound even like a run-of-the-mill extreme anti-gay activist.

In the description of the 30 minute video she uploaded to YouTube to document the visit, Fox wrote, “In November 2014, Megan Fox toured the Field Museum’s ‘Evolving Earth’ exhibit to audit it for bias. She found many examples of inconsistencies and the Field Museum’s insistence that people support opinion as fact without proof. The Field Museum pushes certain theories as if they are absolute proven law when that is not how the scientific method works.”

At one point, Fox argues levelly into the camera that evidence of the existence of dragons exists, but that liberals and scientists are covering it up because “it would throw off their whole time line of what they want you to believe.”

Glenn Beck’s diagnosis and treatment are quackery, say medical experts

The illness, Beck said, baffled doctors all over the world, but has now been diagnosed as “adrenal fatigue” by maverick “chiropractic neurologist” Dr. Ted Carrick.

Beck said that the mysterious ailment came on gradually over the course of the last few years, causing him to lose his memory and to suffer seizures, intense pain in his hands and feet and fits of vocal paralysis. He had long bouts of insomnia, mental “fogginess” and a spate of emotional outbursts that he said “quite honestly has made me look crazy.”

“Chiropractic neurology” is a controversial branch of medicine that Yale University neurologist Dr. Steven Novella dismissed outright as “pure pseudoscience” in a column from November of 2011.

“Chiropractic neurology does not appear to be based on any body of research, or any accumulated scientific knowledge,” Novella wrote. “I am not aware of any research that establishes their core claims. A search on PubMed for ‘Carrick T’ yielded nothing, and searching on ‘chiropractic neurology’ yielded mostly studies about neurological complications from chiropractic treatment.”

In a conversation with Raw Story, Novella said, “If you’re going to use your personal medical history as a public figure in order to make a point, then I think you’re obligated to make your medical record public.”

The doctor is skeptical of Beck’s desire to “have it both ways, saying, ‘I’m going to use this publicly to make a point, but nobody else should look at this information because it’s privileged and it’s private. Well, you’ve just made it no longer private.”

“I care about this because I’m a physician,” Novella explained, “and he’s promoting a dubious diagnosis and a dubious practitioner and we have absolutely no way of knowing if anything he’s saying about his own medical history is accurate.”

UPDATE::  For some odd reason this story re-appeared in my news feed.  BUT,,, so also did this, Stop Spreading the Story About the Pastor Who Drowned After Attempting to Walk on Water, also from 2014.  January of 2014, seven months prior.

This story initially went viral in 2006 after WND, the Christian tabloid that cares little about the truth, posted about it. It’s been repeated in several sources ever since. Needless to say, WND is not a credible source for anything.

Furthermore, I dare you to find evidence of what church Kabele led. Or pictures or video of the water-walking attempt (it was 2006; it’s not like that technology wasn’t available). Or, frankly, anything about the pastor outside of stories about how he supposedly died.

A search for the pastor’s name on the Daily Record‘s website also comes up empty.

Yes, it’s amusing to believe someone would be so foolish as to actually try walking on water… at least water that hasn’t turned into ice. But we skeptics of all people shouldn’t be so gullible as to believe this without more evidence.

Nigerian Pastor Tries to Walk on Water Like Jesus, Then Drowns in Front of His Congregation

Walking on water is not easy. Not too many people have the ability. Let’s see, there’s Jesus, and well, that’s about it. Unfortunately for one pastor on the West Coast of Africa, his attempt to become the second man to make this impossible feat a reality cost him his life.

Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation that he was capable of reenacting the very miracles of Jesus Christ. He decided to make it clear through way of demonstration on Gabon’s beach in the capital city of Libreville.
Referencing Matthew 14:22-33, Kabele said that he received a revelation which told him that with enough faith he could achieve what Jesus was able to.

According to an eyewitness, Kabele took his congregation out to the beach. He told them that he would cross the Kombo estuary by foot, which is normally a 20 minute boat ride.

Sadly by the second step into the water Kabele found himself completely submerged. He never returned.

Some Idiots Flew to Liberia to 'Cure' Ebola Patients with Homeopathy

Dr Richard Hiltner is a really nice guy. He's in his sixties (but seems younger, in that way that Californians often do) and has a very West Coast way of making everything sound super positive all the time, up to and including the fact that, a few weeks ago, he and three other practitioners flew to Liberia to try and treat Ebola patients using homeopathy.

Hiltner says, "We landed in Monrovia on the 17th of October, then had to spend three days training to use the PPEs – the personal protective equipment, those big suits you see everyone wearing – before heading up to the hospital in Ganta."

It was only when they got to Ganta, a province hit hard by the Ebola epidemic, that problems arose.

The team suited up, broke out their homeopathic treatments and tried to get to work on some patients. At which point the medical staff and administrators at the Ganta Hospital realised what it was they were attempting, before completely banning them from the ETU (Ebola Treatment Unit).

Why would Obama suddenly bring the hammer down on homosexual prostitution?

Maybe, in the wake of the Ashley Madison hack, he wants to get all the client information from this website in federal custody to protect the identities of his political and social friends who may be customers.

Or Obama believes, with homosexuality being the flavor of the year in the world of sexual abnormality, this is the moment to haul homosexual prostitutes into court and get some federal judge somewhere to rule that prostitution cannot be made illegal under the United States Constitution.

With no prayer of getting a bill legalizing prostitution through Congress, his best hope is the court system.

And his best chance to get the favorable ruling he wants, given the current cultural zeitgeist, is if the defendants in courts are homosexual prostitutes rather than heterosexual ones. What politically correct judge today would dare to rule against the sin of sodomy anywhere at anytime?

In other words, Obama is pursuing this action not because he wants to punish homosexual prostitutes but because he wants the Supreme Court to exonerate them.

Obama knows that this action will be challenged in court, and that when the appeal makes it to the Supreme Court, he can count on the Court’s five homosexual activists to rule that laws against money for sex are antiquated, outmoded, and so 18th century.

Jim Bakker, the televangelist who served time in jail for fraud in the 1990s, declared on his program earlier this week that he may very soon wind up in jail again … this time as a victim of the made-up Jade Helm 15 federal takeover of Texas.

Bakker discussed Jade Helm 15 with Rick Wiles during a series of programs in which the two floated a variety of unhinged conspiracy theories. The two pastors agreed that the military exercise is meant to foment civil strife and, according to Wiles, target Texas because the state is trying to subvert the Federal Reserve system through its gold depository.

Prosperity gospel preacher: People who don’t understand why I need a jet don’t understand God’s word

Atlanta “prosperity gospel” minister and megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar briefly addressed his desire for a multimillion-dollar Gulfstream G650 jet over the weekend, saying people who criticized him didn’t have a godly worldview.

“See, don’t get upset when the world says stuff and talks about stuff, and all that. They’re just looking through the wrong lens, they don’t understand,” Creflo said in a sermon uploaded to his ministry’s website.

“‘What does a preacher need with an airplane?’ They don’t know,” the preacher added. “They’ll never know because they’re not looking through the Word. They will never know, never never know.”

David Barton: The Declaration Of Independence And Bill Of Rights Came Directly Out Of The Bible | Right Wing Watch

Glenn Beck brought right-wing pseudo-historian David Barton onto his television program last week so that he could deliver another one of his "history" lessons to Beck's audience about how the Founding Fathers took all of the rights guaranteed in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights straight out of the Bible, specifically Genesis 1-8.

As Barton explained, the purpose of the Declaration was to declare that there was a God, that God created inalienable rights, and that government exists to protect these rights. As such, there were some two dozen rights listed in the Declaration, which eventually were codified into the Bill of Rights, and all of which were taken directly from the Bible.

"They held that all of those came out of Genesis 1-8," Barton said. "That's what they looked to. Genesis 1-8, they went through and said, 'Here's the two dozen rights we see and that's why governments exist.' So this is the God factor and that's what made of different from the beginning."

Barton went on to declare that there is no such thing as separation of church and state or government neutrality toward religion because the Declaration declares unanimously, on behalf of every level of government, that God exists.

WTF did I just read?

As one comment notes (from the Throckmorton response to follow), and it is a point I have made in the past, ",,,Barton, Beck and many others seem to conflate the Declaration of Independence with the Constitution. The former is in no way a legal document and it differs substantially from the latter. Both were written with entirely different goals and in entirely different circumstances."

As usual Barton isn’t specific about which founders said what. I have pointed out several times on this blog that Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration, did not point to the Bible as a source for the document.  Below is a segment from a previous post which cites Jefferson’s description of the influences on him as he wrote the Declaration:

When Jefferson wrote about the Declaration, he did not credit the Bible or Christianity.

First, to Henry Lee on May 8, 1825, Jefferson wrote:

But with respect to our rights, and the acts of the British government contravening those rights, there was but one opinion on this side of the water. All American whigs thought alike on these subjects. When forced, therefore, to resort to arms for redress an appeal to the tribunal of the world was deemed proper for our justification. This was the object of the Declaration of Independence. Not to find out new principles or new arguments never before thought of, not merely to say things which had never been said before: but to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves in the independent stand we are compelled to take. Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind, and to give to that expression the proper tone and spirit called for by the occasion. All its authority rests then on the harmonizing sentiments of the day, whether expressed in conversation, in letters, printed essays, or in the elementary books of public right as Aristotle, Cicero, Locke, Sidney, &c. The historical documents which you mention as in your possession ought all to be found, and I am persuaded you will find to be corroborative of the facts and principles advanced in that Declaration.

Who wrote the “elementary books of public right?” Moses? The Apostle Paul? No, Aristotle, Cicero, Locke, Sidney contributed to the “harmonizing sentiments of the day.” A case could be made that some of that harmonizing sentiment derived from religious sources with religious references, but Jefferson did not mention them or appeal to them as primary influences.

In 1823, Jefferson told James Madison (referring to Lee’s theories about the source of the Declaration):

Richard Henry Lee charged it as copied from Locke’s treatise on government. Otis’s pamphlet I never saw, and whether I had gathered my ideas from reading or reflection, I do not know. I know only that I turned to neither book nor pamphlet while writing it. I did not consider it as any part of my charge to invent new ideas altogether, and to offer no sentiment which had ever been expressed before.

According to Jefferson (and in contrast to what the authors of the Founders’ Bible want you to believe), he did not turn to the Bible when writing the Declaration of Independence. Christian historians Mark Noll, Nathan Hatch, and George Marsden got it right when they wrote in 1989:

Here then is the “historical error”: It is historically inaccurate and anachronistic to confuse, and virtually to equate, the thinking of the Declaration of Independence with a biblical world view, or with Reformation thinking, or with the idea of a Christian nation. (p. 130).

I will add that I can’t see how the Bill of Rights can be found in Genesis 1-8.

Poor Piyush! Think he is a bit butt-hurt because IBM actually carried through with their "warning" of consequences in regards to Louisiana’s “Marriage and Conscience Act” (HB 707).  Although the bill failed, Piyush instead issued an executive order,

"We are disappointed by the committee’s action to return the Louisiana Marriage and Conscience Act to the calendar.  We will be issuing an Executive Order shortly that will accomplish the intent of HB 707 to prevent the state from discriminating against persons or entities with deeply held religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.
 
“This Executive Order will prohibit the state from denying or revoking a tax exemption, tax deduction, contract, cooperative agreement, loan, professional license, certification, accreditation, or employment on the basis the person acts in accordance with a religious belief that marriage is between one man and one woman.”

To which IBM responded:

Beck: Gay Activists 'Are Making Exactly The Same Demands As Were Happening In Sodom And Gomorrah' | Right Wing Watch

Let's just say for the sake of argument that Beck is correct in his twisted understanding of the Sodom story, "two angels arrived at Lot's house when the men of Sodom and Gomorrah demanded they be sent outside so they could have sex with them, which Lot rejected, offering his own daughter as a substitute."  According to Beck, "to know" means they want sex so from his perspective the story is about an attempted gang rape.  That's bad, right? And, what does that have to do with homosexuality?

Ignoring Ezekiel 16:49-50 for now (ya know the verses that kind of tell you what the Sodom story was all about), here is what Beck ignores; as do most fundies simply explained by John Corvino   "Lot is the so-called hero of the story,,, so when faced with a mob of angry rapists, what does he do? Why, he does what any upstanding man would do. He offers them his virgin daughters. If you ever want an example of the Bible portraying women as expendable property, you need look no further than the Sodom and Gomorrah story."

What is intriguing about Corvino's take on the matter, and it is something I never thought about in all my years of study, the same plot occurs again in Judges 19, "This time, however, the guest tosses his concubine outside and closes the door. (Again, he’s supposed to be one of the good guys.) The mob violently rapes her until morning, when she finally collapses dead."

Congratulations Glenn, you taught your daughter that she was an expendable piece of property.

The reason he opposes gay marriage, he explained to her, is because gay activists only want it so that they can use it to force Christians to violate their faith, just like during the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Scott Walker Is Toast—The Crazy Move that Cost Him the Kochs and Probably the Nomination | Alternet

Good pbservations, but the question remains, is it all just smoke and mirror?s. Walker is their puppet, but the Kochs don't want it to be so obvious.  They don't want to appear as dictating his policy.

So what, exactly, did Scott Walker say that appears to have made the Kochs do such an about-face in record time? Well, it’s a doozy. Walker, you see, was once a “pro-immigration reform” Republican, which is likely one of the reasons the Koch brothers back him. Like most of the more libertarian-minded Big Business Republicans, they tend toward a more moderate stance on immigration. It’s good for business in a number of ways (for both good and bad reasons). Walker, being a proven anti-union, pro-immigration governor, was naturally at the top of their list of nominees. He had recently “moderated” his stance on illegal immigration but it was widely assumed to be a mild feint to the right for the purposes of winning the nomination. It brought him into line with all the other candidates like Rubio and Bush who had once also been pro-reform, so it was no harm-no foul as far as the primary was concerned.

It’s hard not to fall down laughing (or lose your lunch) over the most notorious union buster in America waxing on about protecting American jobs, but he’s the last person to understand the irony of his comments. But by taking a position against legal immigration, he’s just placed himself to the right of Ted Cruz on this issue. He’s out in Ben Carson land. Not to mention that he’s obliterated the last tattered shreds of a conservative argument to appeal to Hispanic and other ethnic groups: the idea that illegal immigration is unfair to legal immigrants who’ve been “waiting in line” to come to this country. Walker wants to close down the line altogether. Only the most hardcore neo-Confederates like Sessions want to go that far.

David Barton Assures Glenn Beck That The Government Can Outlaw Homosexuality | Right Wing Watch

What Barton said,

...the government has always taken stands on behavior that undermine the government itself. And that’s where morality has always …see, consanguinity, the government’s always gotten involved; you can’t marry your brother and sister, you can’t marry your first cousin. So, there’s always been things that protect the moral climate of the society … You always had standards on behavior.

What Barton means, the government can outlaw anything, so long as long as it is something he agrees with in his assbackward Christian ethic.  In other words,  the government intruding on "my" morally righteous behavior bigotry is always wrong; government criminilizing the behavior of others I deem immoral is always right.

What I heard Barton saying:  without God Barton will go out and rape and pillage the neighbor folk and their animals.  Barton will want to fuck his brother(s), sister(s), and cousin(s). Only fear of the Sky Daddy and the threat of Hell keeps him from committing all those horrible acts.

I would not want to be around if he has a crisis of faith!

"I'm interested in moving to common sense. I'm interested in moving in the direction of freedom," Beck said. "And so when it comes to these measles vaccinations, we have a lot in common with the left ... and we have to reach out to allies."

Common sense dictates one follows the evidence as presented by science - vaccines work.  Freedom has a price as a citizen of this country; that is following the mandates and laws of our country.  Vaccines are not a rallying point for partisan politics.

"We don't know what is going on with autism.  We dont know what is happening to our children and our families."

We may not know what causes Autism, but science is working damn hard figuring it out.  Researchers have identified a number of genes associated with the disorder and studies of people with Autism have found irregularities in several regions of the brain.

Other studies suggest that people with Autism have abnormal levels of serotonin or other neurotransmitters in the brain.  Leading researchers to explore disruption of normal brain development early in fetal development.
While these findings are intriguing, they are preliminary and require further study.   

Although science has not given us a "specific" answer as to the cause, it has given us therapies and behavioral interventions that have improved the outcomes for those affect and their families.  Science has also given us a means to properly diagnose and begin the above therapies at a much earlier age.

What the numbers were for Autism 25 years ago,,, 1 in 300 now have autism, it used to be 1 in 5000,,,if this trend continues, by 2025 1 in every 2 will have autism.

Actually Glenn it is 1 in 68 that have been diagnosed with Autism.  Or put correctly 1 in 68 have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. 

What you fail to qualify in your statement is that most individuals now diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder would never have qualified under the 1980 classification, a classification that did not separate out schizophrenia prior to that time. So it’s not surprising that numbers have increased in the U.S.

Rates of autism have not changed significantly over the past couple of decades, and a 2013 study found that identified autistic children “clustered” where resources for diagnosis and treatment were greater. In other words, where there’s more access to diagnostic services, the autism rate is higher.

And Glenn, citing a paper by Stephanie Seneff, not a smart move if you want to be taken seriously.

Seneff is a researcher, at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.  She is not a biologist; she is not a chemist. And she likes to make up fancy words - exogenous semiotic entropy - it exist no where but her paper.  [A point I should have made in regards to her academic standing, "That does not mean she is wrong – it just means it is misleading to cite her as a researcher and authority. She has published only speculations and gives many presentations, but has not created any new data,,, The dramatic claim she is currently making, the one prompting many scary headlines, is that “Half of All Children Will Be Autistic by 2025.” This is not based on any new research. It is simply a naïve extrapolation of current trends indefinitely into the future – which is always dubious. Seneff is also naively equating correlation with causation.]

As Derek Lowe, a real live organic chemist writing for Corante, so aptly summarizes: "But the evidence given for these assertions, and their connection with disease, while it might look alarming and convincing to someone who has never done research or read a scientific paper, is a spiderweb of “might”, “could”, “is possibly”, “associated with”, and so on. The minute you look at the actual evidence, things disappear."

“If you happen to be a parent and you say, you know, ‘I’m sorry. God gave me a brain, God gave me personal choice and responsibility for those choices, I’m going to say no to those vaccines because I’ve done my homework. Nobody that hasn’t done their homework says no to vaccines.”

“Here’s another group of people that are now being rounded-up and pointed at and called morons and idiots and crackpots and crazies,” he said. “Just totally discredited … Where is anybody saying ‘my gosh, we’re living in the days of Galileo’? The church has become the state and if you don’t practice their religion exactly the way they tell you to practice it, you’re done.”

So, if I understand Beck correctly, these brave individual who cling to a thoroughly discredited study claiming a link between vaccines and autism are actually the modern equivalent of Galileo?

There’s only one tiny problem with the analogy, (besides the fact it didn't work last year with the creationist that Beck assigned the Galileo stature too) Galileo was a scientist.  His findings (that the Earth revolves around the Sun) were based on scientific observation and demonstrable, repeatable proof,,, the Wakefield study of 1998 was not.

So these "morons and idiots and crackpots and crazies" are being discredited with scientific facts.  Then again, perhaps anti-vaxxers should be persecuted as well.

Remember that personal responsibility you spoke of, here is what I have to say:  When your choices result in the deaths of others, you do deserve persecution.   So when you choose not to protect your child and others from preventable diseases, you should be held accountable as well.

So now, naturally, Perkins is comparing U.S. conservatives to the victims of the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris.

Mike Huckabee: Support The Fair Tax Because 'Giving Proportionately Is Biblical'

After lamenting that America is no longer a place where women who use profanity are considered to be "trash," Huckabee made his case for the "fair tax," which is a proposal to scrap all federal taxes and replace them with a 30% tax on consumption, because that is what is biblical.

Glenn Beck received an advance copy of "The Imitation Game," the new film about Alan Turing's effort to crack the Nazi Enigma code during World War II and his eventual suicide after he was prosecuted for being gay, which was a crime at the time.

On his radio program today, Beck raved about the film, seizing upon the legend that Turing had taken his life by eating an apple laced with cyanide which, Beck claimed, has been secretly immortalized in the logo for Apple, which consists of an apple with a bite taken out of it.

"That's a salute to Alan Turning," Beck said. "Nobody knows that. Nobody knows that ... Isn't that amazing?"

Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, also known as the Ten Commandments Judge, is reprimanding the city of Huntsville for its prayer policy at city council meetings, which allows for atheists and Wiccans to lead the invocation.

“We’re having prayers [by] atheists? We’re having Wiccans say prayers? How foolish can we be?” he stated before the Madison County Republican Men’s Club this past week, according to AL.com.

RNC Teams Up With Anti-Gay Extremist And Hate Group

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus insists that the GOP’s opposition to marriage equality must be “draped in the concepts of grace, love and respect” … and what better way to show it than partnering with two radical anti-gay groups to send 168 RNC members to Israel.

Priebus is working with David Lane, founder of the American Renewal Project, and the American Family Association to organize a week-long trip to Israel for committee members, paid for by Lane’s group and the AFA. Judge Allows Glenn Beck Boston Marathon Defamation Lawsuit To Move Forward

Following the Boston Marathon bombing last year, Glenn Beck set out on a mission to prove that the government was engaged in a massive conspiracy to cover up the truth, during which he repeatedly asserted that one of the victims who was injured in the attack was really an al Qaeda operative responsible for the bombing.

In the weeks following the bombing, Beck repeatedly insisted that Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, a spectator who was briefly considered to be a "person of interest" by investigators though quickly exonerated, was really an al Qaeda "control agent" and the "money man" who had financed the entire operation and had recruited the Tsarnaev brothers to carry it out.

In response to these unfounded claims, Alharbi eventually sued Beck for defamation and slander, and Beck's lawyers responded by trying to get the lawsuit thrown out on the grounds that Alharbi was "involuntary public figure" which would require Alharbi to prove not simply that Beck made false accusations against him, but that he did so with "actual malice."

Of course, it was Beck himself who continued to focus attention on Alharbi, meaning that Beck's legal team was essentially arguing that Alharbi became a public figure as a result of Beck's attacks ... which they said means that Alharbi cannot now sue Beck for those very same attacks because he was a public figure.

Needless to say, this novel legal argument did not get very far with the federal judge hearing the case:

Dr. Albert Mohler is a prominent Southern Baptist, serving as the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has always, in my experience, been an uncompromising advocate for the authority of Scripture on matters great and small, including human sexuality.

However, he seems to have been drawn into the gravitational pull of Russell Moore, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), who has already admitted defeat in the culture war over the definition of marriage, and seems to believe the best we can hope for is to be left with some vestiges of religious liberty which we can exercise furtively inside the four walls of our churches.

The first 29 minutes of the speech was an unflinching affirmation of biblical truth on human sexuality. But then he began to make statements that are somewhat confusing and call for clarification.

Pornography, even man-woman porn is homosexual in nature, because it takes sex and degrades it to be about self pleasure for the viewer. Homosexuality is about an attraction towards “sameness.” And since pornography directs pleasure towards self-arousal, and does so initially even when watched with a partner, it has the same narcissistic element to it. This is difficult to explain and hard for the average person to understand at first, but as you continue your walk towards being more Christ-like, it will begin to make sense.

Tony Perkins Likens Condemning Gays To Warning People Their Houses Are Fire

One of the strangest things about anti-gay hate groups and their constituents is that they are so convinced that they are right (without any evidence for that), and that their horror stories about LGBT people are true (without any evidence for that either), that they justify going to any lengths to hurt LGBT families, somehow thinking that if only they fight hard enough, they can eradicate us. Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council hate group provided a window into this sort of thinking recently with this quote:

You go beating on the windows of the bedroom and you awaken them, now you’ve disturbed their sleep, you’ve wakened them up, you’ve disturbed them, you’ve made them uncomfortable because you’ve awakened them in the middle of the night and you’ve told them their house is on fire. Do you hate them because you’re doing that? I would say that you’re actually expressing love, profound love, by awakening them to something that is very destructive and liable to take their lives.

Is it possible that these "people" actually believe what they are saying?
