Continuing our saga of stupid shit people say to justify their hate.

And my reply to that garbage,

First mistake is telling me to calm down, you see Mr. Jeremey, "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry".  As I stated, I know how this game is played, I was part of the wheel for many years.  While it disgust me now to realize the part I may have played in fomenting this atmosphere, I take solace in that I will fight it with every last breath.

You Jeremey, like many others need a reminder that an individual believer is only but one cog.  While you claim you, Mr Trump, and those that voted for him are not racist,  tells me you need to look in the fucking mirror.  I take it history was not your strong suit.

And again I will ask, WTF does race have to do with the subject at hand?  The article speaks to Mr Blackwell's support for the use of reparative therapy and his appointment to the transition team.

As I stated earlier today in another posting, I will reiterate here.  I am against ideologies not individuals. What one believes in private I have no issue with. BUT bring those beliefs into the public sphere (ie legislating discrimination), I have issue. Organize those beliefs into an agenda, ie. the GOP party platform, I have a bigger problem.

I would strongly suggest you read the platform and go so far as to read various commentary concerning such.  I would also read the various articles concerning the men (and women) behind the discussions concerning said platform.  If you are as much of a "believer" as you say you are, you will be appalled at what you have voted for.  (I am assuming you voted for Trump and the ensuing GOP platform.)  You see when one votes for a candidate, you're not just voting for them, you are voting for the party and what they endorse.  The GOP is a party of extreme socio-religious nuts who only care for themselves; the rest of us peons be damned.

Since you tucked tail and ran, you never did justify a few points mentioned. 

1] How do you justify the repeal of the ACA knowing that millions will lose their healthcare;  some with pre-existing conditions that will no longer be covered?  Why is a complete repeal so important and not fixing the issue(s), leaving the base intact?  Why won't the GOP consider maintaining coverage for those with pre-existing conditions or means for the working poor to afford standard coverage?

I am going to assume you have private insurance and these issues are of no concern to you.  How else should I think, or are you voting against your own best interest out of misinformation? Please enlighten me as to what you will gain from a GOP victory as I have a fuck-ton too lose.  (Not that I can afford to lose much more.)

I will add this qualification,

After reiterating his promise to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, President-elect Donald Trump has indicated that he may keep two of the law’s most popular provisions. One is straightforward enough — children up to age 26 being allowed to stay on their parents’ plan. The other — preventing insurance companies from denying coverage because of preexisting conditions — offers a perfect illustration of why Trump and most of the other Republicans critics of Obamacare don’t understand the health insurance market.

While I may not respect the man, I do respect the office he will soon hold.  IF this article is accurate, this is the type of discussion that needs to take place.  At issue is whether the GOP controlled House and Senate will allow for such.

I have no qualms admitting there may be or are flaws in the ACA (not something I personally experience).  I have friends who have stated as much in regards to cost and to some degree what coverage they require.  What many are not aware though is the cost is not completely controlled by the ACA, that issue is your insurance company.

2] What is your justification for curtailing a program such as SNAP?  You do realize that over 50% that receive such are children, seniors, disabled and military? 

The Reich in their stupidity has tried to use 2 Thessalonians 3: 10 as justification; please don't make the same mistake as y'all have a tendency to argue out both sides.  You can't argue that Christ, in Matthew 25 is not speaking to the government, then turn around and say Paul is speaking to the government, in 2 Thessalonians; it's the same fucking book, kinda kills the consistency of message theme y'all tout.  To allow 14% of our citizens to be food-insecure is as Neolithic as your religion.

And I forewarn you, fraud is less than 3% and the notion of the welfare-queen is fallacious.  And as an FYI, I fully support the work requirement for single, non-disabled, childless adults to gain SNAP benefits.  The caveat, there has to be gainful employment available.  Under a GOP system, if history is our evidence, we know that is not possible.

Without going into much detail, the attacks on the system are just plain wrong. Food stamps fraud is rare and predominantly white-collar crime.  The system serves many and is under-enrolled.

Fact, the Reich wants to eliminate minimum wage, women's right to vote, and civil rights advances since 1964.  What I did not mention, a "reformed" interpretation of the Free Exercise Clause or outright repeal of the First Amendment.  Much of what we see today was embolden by Hobby Lobby decision.

The Hobby Lobby case, of course, deals in part with the question whether the federal [Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA)] was or is intended to benefit the owners of large, for-profit, nonreligious corporations. Hobby Lobby's interpretation that it does would open the floodgates to exempt every business owner in the United States from the anti-discrimination laws, because there is no real middle ground. The forces behind Hobby Lobby have tried to argue that the Court should hold for Hobby Lobby because it is "closely held," but that would not limit the holding to a few instances, because over 90% of corporations are "closely held." If the Court sides with Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood, it will open the Pandora's box of corporate law.

Sad thing, none of this is new.  These attacks on our most basic rights have been occurring since the 30s.   Interest was renewed in the 60s and 70s.  With implementation of the Reich plan beginning in the 80s.

As I stated, Trump is not a theocrat; he is a conman.  IMO he has conned the Reich to get what he wanted, now he doesn't know what to do with the role he has acquired.  While he does hold ultimate veto power, the theocrats have that now firmly in their hands although not filibuster proof.  It will be individuals like Pence, Palin, Carson, etc. who will do the most damage; damage we will feel for generations.

The distressed teen had nowhere to turn at home either. His Christian parents decided to perform a ritual exorcism on him with the hope of “curing” him of his orientation. When that failed, they kicked him out of the house.

I like how Jeremey assumes, my disdain for Blackwell and reparative not therapy, automatically qualifies as hate just because I find it repulsive and disagree.  His ignorance shines bright as he lacks understanding of what reparative therapy is and what it is based on.   Maybe you think the work of Paul Cameron, Mark Regnarus, or Donald Paul Sullins has some validity; you would be very wrong.

You see Jeremey, reparative therapy is revolting.  Besides being premised on flawed data as noted above, its methods are uncivilized if not barbaric. It has no place in our society and an individual such as Blackwell should not be promoting it.  There is no evidence of its efficacy and boatloads concerning the harm it causes.

The notion of separating a person from an ideology or belief (reparative therapy) is foreign to you, isn't it Jeremey?  I would not be surprised to find your contempt for HRC is based off of her support for abortion; an idea or point the Reich distorts.

And what exactly does HILLIARY have to do with this anyways?  I may have voted for Stein or Johnson.  Maybe even Darrell Lane Castle (Constitution Party), Rocky De La Fuente (Reform Party), Evan McMullin (Independent), or Gloria Estela La Riva (Party for Socialism and Liberation).  You don't know me very well, you don't understand why I would vote for HRC.

And since your silence throughout our discussion spoke volumes, I fear for your LGBTQI friends.  Why?  Because fucktards like you blindly follow those that actively preach hatred, condone the mis-treatment, and death  of said friends.

This is your religion, this is what you believe and tacitly support by claiming membership in the cult of Christianity; whether you like it or not.

According to Bachmann, the September 11 attacks represented God’s judgment on America; President Obama and gay rights advocates are bringing about the End Times; homosexuality is “personal enslavement” and “part of Satan”; gay people want to change laws “so that adults will be able to freely prey on little children sexually”; and Obamacare death panels will literally kill people any day now.

Texas-based televangelist Kenneth Copeland is also on the advisory board even though God told him that Ted Cruz would be the next president. Like Trump, Copeland has been implicated in financial scandals and preaches against vaccines, which may have been a reason that one of his churches suffered a measles outbreak.

Dobson, who once said that he could not support Trump, has a long history with the anti-LGBT Right, warning that gay marriage will lead to a second civil war and pastors going to prison, as well as ushering in the destruction of religious freedom, God’s judgment on America and the transformation of the U.S. into Nazi Germany. He even linked same-sex marriage to the Sandy Hook shooting.

It's like a Whose Who list of anti gay hate.  Only ones missing are Scott Lively, Rick Warren, and Peter LaBarbera.

Newly appointed state Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley wrote in a student newspaper 24 years ago that she had no sympathy for AIDS patients because they had effectively chosen to kill themselves, called gays "queers" and said Americans were "either totally stupid or entirely evil" for electing President Bill Clinton. 

In one piece, she wrote people would be better off getting AIDS than cancer under Clinton because it would get more funding.

"How sad that the lives of degenerate drug addicts and queers are valued more than the innocent victims of more prevalent ailments," wrote Bradley, who then had the last name of Grassl.

Well, then Texas has a candidate for you—and she won big on Super Tuesday.

Texas State Board of Education candidate Mary Lou Bruner’s website features a prayer that begins, “Lord, We ask You to show us where we as Christians and as a nation have fallen short of the mark allowing our government leaders to pass evil and ungodly laws which displease God.”

It seems the Lord has been listening to Bruner, for she took a commanding 48.45 percent of the vote in a three-way race for the Republican nomination for one of the state board’s 15 seats. She will face a run-off—in Texas, you have to hit the 50 percent threshold to make it official—against the second-place candidate in what promises to be a very-tiny-turnout election in late May. Because Texas heavily influences textbook content for schools all over the country, Bruner’s probable ascent is a very big—and very disturbing—deal.

A Southern Baptist Convention seminary president has been named to a Religious Liberty Advisory Council created by Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

Paige Patterson, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, is part of a 19-member group announced Feb. 29 to guide policies to reverse what the Cruz campaign termed “unprecedented attacks on freedom both at home and abroad.”

“Religious liberty is the first freedom guaranteed to Americans under the Constitution, and ensuring the protection of that right has been a priority my entire adult life,” Cruz said in a campaign press release.

“Increasingly, renegade government officials seek to coerce people of faith either to act in a manner that violates their faith or forfeit their career. When I am elected president that will change. It is time for our liberties to be respected in Washington. The right to religious liberty built America, and denying that right is both un-American and morally wrong.”

In reality, it probably will grow with Mike Murdock. From there it just might end up as a seven-figure gift to a fellow sex-scandal-embroiled Nigerian pastor. But that hasn’t stopped people from giving Murdock their last $100, because God doesn’t care about need. “God has never responded to pain,” Murdock says. “He only responds to faith.”

The prosperity preacher became the latest evangelical leader to endorse Donald Trump this month, calling the upstart presidential frontrunner damn near a “genius.”

But the true genius lies in the tax-exempt business model Murdock has built for himself in the name of God—no tax disclosures, a sprawling Texas megachurch, and a fabulously tacky home that he put on the market for $3.5 million.

Far more recently, Murdock found the cash to give his friend Biodun Fatoyinbo, a Nigerian pastor, $1 million and a Rolls-Royce during a January 2014 visit to his COZA church in Abuja.

“This 68 year old Wealthy Prominent and Adept Preacher released a Million-dollar Gift to the Senior Pastor of COZA,” a gospel blogger who reportedly witnessed the exchange wrote. “The Gift of a Rolls-Royce threw the Church into Shouts of Celebration and moved the Pastor and his wife to tears.”

(Reports don’t indicate whether the gift was in U.S. or Nigerian currency.)

Fatoyinbo has been accused of infidelity for years, before the pricey gift from Murdock. A Nigerian X Factor contestant publicly accused Fatoyinbo of engaging in extramarital sex with her in 2013, while another woman accused Fatoyinbo of taking her to his hotel room and then trying to bribe her to delete the evidence. The first woman, Ese Walter, claimed the pastor had singled her out for a leadership role in the church, and then propositioned her while on a trip to London, where she was enrolled in graduate school.

City prosecutors allege sex crimes mishandled

When politics come to play, it is never pretty,,,

The man looking to unseat Fairfield County Prosecutor Gregg Marx said his candidacy was spurred in part by four recent cases where men admitted to molesting a child but were not charged with felonies.

The child victims ranged from a 3-year-old girl to a 13-year-old developmentally-delayed boy. In each of the cases, the suspect was either a caregiver, relative, a daycare provider or a church youth mentor/pastor.

The crimes occurred as far back as the early 2000s, but were denied felony prosecution in the last two years by Marx and his office. Marx's office has full discretion when it comes to seeking felony indictments from a grand jury, but the Lancaster Law Director and city prosecutor's office, which deals only in misdemeanor offenses, believes too many serious cases are being rejected for felony charges.

Kyle Witt, an assistant prosecutor in the city prosecutor's office, said the lack of prosecution in certain cases is one of the main reasons he is running against Marx in the upcoming March 15 Republican primary election. Witt and Senior City Prosecutor Stephanie Hall pointed to the four child molestation cases as some of the most serious acts that received no felony prosecutorial action.

Oregon woman fights Idaho faith healing laws

A former church member, Linda Martin, is trying to convince lawmakers in Idaho to do what Oregon did.

“These are not things children die of in our time, this is what children died of back in the 1800s, not in the 2000s,” says Martin. Martin grew up in Idaho as a member of the Followers of Christ. Now, she lives in Oregon, but often travels to Boise to lobby lawmakers to remove faith healing protections that prevent parents from being prosecuted for the death of a child.

This is her third attempt to reach lawmakers like Lee Heider. The Republican is chair of the Idaho Senate Health and Welfare Committee.

“If someone approaches me wanting to carry that legislation, then yes, I’ll hold a hearing. I can’t guarantee the outcome of the hearing. I can’t tell you what the other members of my committee would choose to do with that legislation but if someone chooses to do that I would be the first to stand up and give them the right to bring that legislation forward,” Heider says.

Dairy farmers are paid more money for milk that has a low SCC, if our cell count raises above normal levels they will dock the amount we get paid for our milk, if it raises even higher they stop taking our milk and we can’t sell it. So not only do we not want our cows to be sick, it would cost us a lot of money and could cost us our farms if we were to ignore a high SCC. Recently the dairy industry lowered the acceptable SCC level from 750 to 400. Most dairy farms aim for a SCC under 200. So does this mean that we are allowing some pus into your milk? No. All milk is going to have some white blood cells in it, that’s the nature of a product that comes from an animal, cells happen. It does’t matter if it’s organic milk or regular milk. The presence of some white blood cells in milk certainly doesn’t mean that the animal is sick or the milk is of poor quality. Again, white blood cells are normal. Additionally when you buy milk from the store it has been pasteurized which kills off any white blood cells or bacteria that are present in the raw milk.

So the anti milk folks want to you to be grossed out by milk, but think about this… A steak has white blood cells in it, because it has blood and white blood cells are a part of that. The anti milk people aren’t going around saying that your steak has pus in it because we can see with our own eyes that it doesn’t. However, since we can’t see into our milk like we can see a steak, anti milk activists use bad science to scare you into believing their view point and that’s just not right!

Instead of using facts to persuade people to not drink milk they are literally trying to make you terrified to eat or drink anything beyond what they feel you should be eating and drinking. It’s time to take back our food from the activists and let them know that it is not ok to use false information to slander a food they don’t agree with. My cows are mad and so am I!

The Flint disaster is Rick Snyder’s fault

Bush was attempting to muddy the proverbial water by portraying the Flint debacle as a failure of government at all levels. Snyder attempted the same diffusion of responsibility last week, saying that “government failed you — federal, state and local leaders — by breaking the trust you placed in us.”

But the Flint disaster, three years in the making, is not a failure of government generally. It’s the failure of a specific governing philosophy: Snyder’s belief that government works better if run more like a business. 

No doubt, the federal Environmental Protection Agency deserves blame for failing to sound warnings more loudly and publicly, and for being too deferential to state authorities, once it learned last year that high lead levels in Flint were poisoning children.

But EPA had no role in the decisions that caused the problem, nor was it supposed to. That was entirely the responsibility of Snyder’s administration and his appointees.

Wife accuses Hawkins presidential hopeful of trespassing, harassment

A Hawkins County man who announced two years ago he would run for president of the United States in 2016 will first have to answer a criminal complaint filed by his ex-wife accusing him of criminal trespassing and telephone harassment.

Richard “Darrell” Trigg, 56, of Rogersville, is scheduled to appear in Hawkins County Sessions Court Jan. 27 on a private prosecution warrant filed by his ex-wife, Lori Jones.

Among Darrell Trigg’s goals if elected president is to change the U.S. Constitution, eliminating “separation of church and state” and replacing that with “union of church and state.”

During his public appearance May 1, 2014 Trigg mentioned several changes planned for this country if elected, not the least of which is making Christianity the official religion of the United States.

Under Trigg’s presidency the Bible will be a mandatory subject for K-12 students in public schools.

Marriage will be re-established as “Holy Matrimony” between a man and woman, gay marriage will be banned, and homosexuality “will not be recognized legally, or any other way.”

Adultery will be punishable by jail time and large fines.

Nudity will be banned from the Internet and television, as well as excessive violence, foul language, blasphemy, or any form of homosexuality.

Marijuana will not be legal except for medicinal purposes.

You’d hope that a senator, even if he were distracted by what a woman was wearing, would just get over it and focus on what the guest is saying. Is he going to refuse to listen to a woman speak if she happens to have a bigger chest? Is he going to make her put on a robe before she speaks about ethics violations? What about men who aren’t in suits? Are they a distraction, too?

This isn’t high school. This definitely isn’t Catholic school.

Here’s a better idea that doesn’t require a new policy: If people testify to the subcommittee and Holmes doesn’t like what they’re wearing, he can turn his damn chair around and face the wall. Then the adults in the room can then get back to work.

This year’s first batch of anti-science education bills surface in Oklahoma

The Senate version of the bill is by State Senator Josh Brecheen, a Republican. It is the fifth year in a row he's introduced a science education bill after announcing he wanted "every publicly funded Oklahoma school to teach the debate of creation vs. evolution." This year's version omits any mention of specific areas of science that could be controversial. Instead, it simply prohibits any educational official from blocking a teacher who wanted to discuss the "strengths and weaknesses" of scientific theories.

The one introduced in the Oklahoma House is more traditional. Billed as a "Scientific Education and Academic Freedom Act" (because freedom!), it spells out a whole host of areas of science its author doesn't like:

Gary Johnson, 2012 Libertarian presidential candidate, will run in 2016

Gary Johnson, a two-term Republican governor of New Mexico who became the Libertarian Party's 2012 presidential nominee, will officially announce his 2016 campaign on Fox News on Wednesday.

"It was kind of a commitment from the last go-round that I made to a lot of people," said Johnson in an interview with the Washington Post. "The idea was, if I do well enough, I'll run again. I’ll be the first one to say that I don’t think I did very well at all! But everyone else has said otherwise, that it was a very successful, very significant campaign for the party."

In 2012, Johnson won 1,275,923 votes for president, the highest overall vote total in the party's 40-year history. Yet while Johnson had long been a dream candidate for Libertarians, dating back to his early embrace of decriminalized marijuana, he only made the run after a marginalized and disappointing GOP primary campaign. Johnson was kept out of most televised debates, and "liberty movement" voters largely swung behind the campaign of then-Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

Why Bible-Believing Christians May Want to Drop Allstate Right Now

The Allstate promotion does not share the reality that this child will grow up without the nurture that only a mother can provide. Nor does Allstate recognize the emotional trauma and questions this child will endure growing up in a home with two men.

Studies predominantly show that children raised in homosexual environments tend to struggle emotionally more than their peers, are highly more susceptible to drug and alcohol abuse and often suffer severe depression as young adults.

Until recently, the legal institution of marriage was defined in terms of gender roles. Another theocratic clown to add to the ever crowded passenger list, although running as an Independent candidate.  As noted, this is the same cretin who claimed his imprecatory prayers were answered in the deaths of George Tiller and Congressman John Murtha.  How quaint!

Wiley Drake – the often outspoken, sometimes controversial Buena Park pastor, who once filed a lawsuit challenging the veracity of President Obama’s birth certificate – is running for president.

Drake, 71, said he entered the race because of the ineffectiveness of both major parties on Capitol Hill. He is running as an independent.

“The parties have ruined this country,” Drake said in an interview. “The Republicans are as bad as the Democrats. All they do is play games with our money.”

The nation needs to return to the Judeo-Christian principles on which it was founded, said Drake, who serves as pastor for the First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park.

“We need to get a pastor back in charge,” he said. “Politicians used to be right men. Now they are wrong men.”

One of his goals would be to do away with the U.S. welfare system and instead institute “Church-fare” – churches, not the taxpayers, should be helping the less fortunate.

Katie Couric recently interviewed Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, and the subject of climate change came up. They discussed it for over four minutes, likely marking the longest any national GOP political figure has spent talking about climate change in the past five years.

Conservatives are delighted with Fiorina's performance. Thrilled. Pumped. They think she crushed Couric and showed how to outwit liberals on climate change.

In fact, Fiorina's comments are a farrago of falsehoods and red herrings, a derp different in character from science-denial derp, but no less derpy.

The key to a "moderate" Republican position on climate change is that it has to neutralize the science debate, which party leaders have concluded is not favorable terrain. The Tea Party base remains staunchly wedded to science denialism, but everywhere else on the political spectrum (including among other Republicans), majorities now agree that climate change is a problem that warrants serious solutions. Denialism, concentrated in conservative white men, has become a liability among young people, Hispanics, and other demographics Republicans badly need to court.
So the trick for the aspiring Republican moderate is to acknowledge the scientific consensus on climate change while maintaining opposition to any policy that might penalize fossil fuels or advantage renewable energy.
Jeb Bush has tried to do this, with little success. But Fiorina seems to have pulled it off, at least in the eyes of conservatives.
