UPDATED::Utah priest charged with patronizing a prostitute - The Salt Lake Tribune
UPDATE:: Utah priest busted in prostitution sting could receive 'new pastoral assignment'A Utah priest has been charged with patronizing a prostitute after he was arrested by Salt Lake City police in August during a sting operation.
A Utah Catholic priest arrested for soliciting a prostitute back in September may be reassigned, according to a letter sent to his parishioners from the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City.
Father Andrzej Pawel Skrzypiec, 63, was arrested in September after Salt Lake City Police said he agreed to pay $30 to an undercover police officer for a sex act. The arrest occurred during an undercover prostitution sting at 200 N. 900 W.
According to court documents, Skrzypiec pleaded no contest to the charge in November, and the case was dismissed after he underwent a health test.
Andrzej Skrzypiec, 63, who was then leading Salt Lake City’s St.
Ambrose Parish and was chaplain over J.E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic
School, approached an undercover officer downtown near 200 N. 900 West
on Aug. 24, according to a probable cause statement. He allegedly agreed
to pay her $30 for oral sex, the statement said, and she told him to
meet her at a nearby hotel.
Another officer waiting down the street pulled over Skrzypiec when he
left the area and arrested him. He was charged a month later with a
class A misdemeanor count for making a sex deal. He has denied the
allegation and told police he was there to get food from a taco stand.

Gretna pastor vows to fight charges he pulled gun on transgender sex worker | Crime/Police | theadvocate.com
A Pentecostal pastor from Gretna said he plans to vigorously defend himself against allegations he illegally pointed a pistol to take back cash from a transgender sex worker following a botched tryst last month.
Wilfred Brown, who is 67 and describes himself as the pastor of Evariste Temple Church of God in Christ, faces counts of aggravated assault and soliciting prostitution in the Nov. 20 incident, while Brandon Smalls, 29 — who goes by the first name Kourtney — is accused of simple robbery.
Authorities investigating the case believe Brown was driving his car in New Orleans and picked up Smalls about 10:30 p.m. Brown stopped near Decatur Street and Esplanade Avenue “in an apparent attempt to solicit Smalls to engage (in) performing sexual acts,” according to a state trooper's report on the arrests.

Former Priest Teaches at LCC After Sex Solicitation Conviction – Eugene Weekly
Former priest Daniel Mackay was convicted on three counts of
prostitution last year, specifically for soliciting a 17-year-old girl
for sex, but he’ll still be teaching at Lane Community College this fall
term, even though his conviction may fall under “potentially
disqualifying crimes” for employment, according to the school’s
background check policy.
Mackay taught at LCC for about a decade before his conviction as well as at Northwest Christian University. He was suspended from teaching at NCU after his arrest in 2016, says Patrick Walsh, the college’s senior director of marketing and communications.
“After he was arrested, he did not teach here,” Walsh says. “He was placed on administrative suspension pending the outcome of those charges.” Walsh says all faculty members are on a one-year contract at the school and Mackay did not make an attempt to renew his contract.
Mackay is now suspended from his duties as a priest, but worked at St. John the Wonderworker Orthodox Church in the Whiteaker neighborhood.

Indiana Mayor Gay Sex Scandal: Assault, Bribery, HIV, and Felony Charges | HIVPlusMag.com
A small town Indiana mayor was recently arrested for paying another man for sex while the alleged sex worker was charged with intimidation, prostitution, and "failure to disclose dangerous communicable disease status," despite the latter man's protestations that the sex was coerced not consensual and that he has an undetectable viral load with little chance of transmitting the virus.
,,,
According to the Indiana State Police, during the investigation conducted by Detective Roger Drew, “it was determined that in June of this year Fledderman paid Wigle-Stevens for sex acts. It was also determined that Wigle-Stevens failed to disclose his HIV status to Fledderman prior to engaging in the sex acts. The investigation also revealed that Wigle-Stevens threatened to go public with the encounter unless Fledderman paid him additional money.”
,,,
Local media reports say that the townsfolk seem supportive of the popular three-term mayor, and whether this is assault or bribery gone awry, the HIV charges are a conundrum for advocates in Indiana and elsewhere. Unfortunately, the recent cases of HIV-criminalization suggest that prosecutors and juries often reject the science in favor of their mistaken beliefs both about how HIV is transmitted and whether the virus itself is a death sentence.
