Religious Right Pundit: Marriage Equality Paves The Way For Adult-Child Marriages

Anti-gay activist Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action appeared on Voice of Christian Youth America’s “In Focus” talk show with host Jim Schneider several weeks ago to discuss the implications of recent same-sex marriage rulings across the country, including one in Wisconsin, warning viewers that a “redefinition” of marriage would erode America’s moral compass and lead to the sanctioning and acceptance of other “sexual sins.”

“The nature of sexual sin is, it kind of wraps its cords around you until you become completely identified by it,” she explained. “That’s when the giving up happens, because you become sort of ensnared by it, and it defines the people. And that’s when people are ripe to have their conscience seared, and they are no longer able to distinguish between right and wrong and good and bad.”

Schneider later chimed in with the well-worn slippery slope argument, claiming that same-sex marriage sets a precedent for legalizing pedophilia and polygamy.

Robertson and his father will both be participating in the FRC pre-election event “I Stand Sunday” later this week in Houston.

Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation Leader: Church-State Separation 'The Death Knell For Our Nation'

In a radio interview this week, Lea Carawan, director of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation, warned that the separation of church and state is part of a liberal plan to “ruin America” and will be “the death knell for our nation.”

Carawan, whose group’s advisory board includes several members of Congress, told Arizona-based host Josh Bernstein this week that the American people and many churches have “bought into a very insidious lie, which is the misapplication, misinformation regarding that phrase, ‘the separation of church and state.’”

“That is the death knell for our nation,” she said. “If the church of God, if the Christians do not engage in the public square and do not see that as their responsibility, their right and responsibility, then those that do not believe like us will absolutely fill the void. And what people don’t understand is that every nation will reflect somebody’s values. And up until now, it’s reflected Judeo-Christian values because the Christians have held to it and they’ve protected it every single generation. But if we do not protect it in our generation, if we buy this lie and we back out of the public square like we have for a decade or several decades now, we will find that we no longer have a free Republic. The threat is very real.”

Root: Obama Is Either 'Incompetent Or Mentally Ill' And America Won't Survive Unless He Is Removed From Office

Today we discovered that right-wing pundit, activist, crackpot, and conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn Root has been producing weekly video commentaries for several years now through which he spreads his reasonable beliefs that President Obama is the "greatest scam artist in history" and declares that "we have a sociopath in the White House."

Last month, Root decided to take on the pressing issue of whether America could have defeated the Nazis during World War II if President Obama had been in charge, concluding, not surprisingly, that we would have lost the war and "we would all be speaking German right about now."

This question is extremely relevant today, Root explained, because "World War III may have already started with Russia or ISIS or China or all of the above plotting to destroy America" and we don't even realize it.  As such, Republicans must immediately remove Obama from office because otherwise this nation simply will not survive the remainder of his term.

Santorum: Christians Must Fight 'Persecution' In America To Stop Us From Turning Into Nazi Germany

Rick Santorum recently stopped by the Christian Post for an interview about his latest film, "One Generation Away," which is about the supposed persecution of Christians in America.

While admitting that "persecution" in America today is nothing like what Christians in the Middle East are facing, Santorum warned that Christians in the U.S. must nevertheless remain vigilant because the sort of deadly persecution faced by Christians around the world does not just happen overnight.

The slide toward wholesale persecution is a process, Santorum said, pointing to Nazi Germany to argue that just as the Jews in that country found it "unfathomable" that anything like the Holocaust could ever happen, so too does it seem unfathomable that anything like that could ever happen in America.

Tony Perkins: Gay Rights Part Of Population Control Agenda

On yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch,” Tony Perkins returned to one of his favorite talking points about how gay rights are part of a population control conspiracy to extinguish the human race.

A listener called in to tell the Family Research Council president that he thinks the reason homosexuality is “promoted is because it doesn’t lead to reproduction and that’s why it’s promoted. There’s this anti-life agenda, there’s a total anti-human, anti-life, human beings are a virus, type of mentality.”

Perkins responded that the caller was “absolutely correct,” saying that he once wrote about how “climate change alarmists and those who are pushing population control” actually “promote homosexuality” because “there’s no procreation there.”

AFA: 'Mandatory Gay Brain-Washing' Will Destroy America

An action alert from American Family Association President Tim Wildmon today warns of a plague of “mandatory gay brain-washing” sweeping the nation. Such brainwashing, he reports, is being done by people like a gay public official in Kentucky whose Twitter account is “flaming with pro-gay hype” — such as news of his engagement. The only thing to do, Wildmon says, is to watch AFA’s new movie about anti-Christian persecution and "pray for America" because “I am convinced that the survival of America as the greatest nation in history rests on whether the nation turns away from its slide into secularism and once again seeks the true God.”

Rep. Frank Wolf Says Christians May Need To Go To Jail In Order To Wake Up America

Rep. Frank Wolf also appeared in a prerecorded interview, telling Perkins that religious liberty is under attack in America because the church has been intimidated and fallen into silence.

In order to combat this, the Virginia Republican said, Americans need to imitate people like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dietrich Bonhoeffer and prepare to go to prison in the face of government oppression.

"Frankly," Wolf said, "some people in the church may have to go to jail and that would wake up America. That would literally wake up America if they arrested a cardinal, if they arrested a bishop, if they arrested a prominent pastor":

Pastor On Marriage Equality Court Victories: 'The Republic Is Officially Dead'

Right-wing pastor Paul Blair of Reclaiming America for Christ is not happy that same-sex marriage is now legal in his home state of Oklahoma, and took to BarbWire today to call on state government officials to defy federal court rulings on issues like marriage.

Blair warns that “the republic is officially dead” as a result of overreaching government officials and judges, charging that the courts “have no authority” to strike down Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage.

He writes if the states don’t push back against the judiciary, then people like Judge Terence Kern, who ruled in favor of two lesbian couples challenging the ban, might as well run all state affairs: “Let’s dissolve the state legislature, send the governor home and everyone else saving us at least half of our state’s annual budget. Apparently Federal Judge Kern already rules the state, so let him have an office in downtown OKC and we can be ruled by our masters and quit kidding ourselves.

“So the book of the Revelation is about End Times events and what happens when this world is destroyed by fire, when the stars and the universe and the sun and the moon, like untimely figs cast from a tree, are just completely done away with and annihilated,” he said, telling his congregation to focus on what the Bible said would happen before that.

Michael Savage: Ebola Could Be A 'Blessing' That Prompts Obama's Removal From Office

In an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones last week, conservative radio host Michael Savage said President Obama plans to “use Ebola as a pretext” to exercise authoritarian control over the United States.

 “He wants an insurrection,” Savage said of Obama. “He wants his Kristallnacht. He wants to take the guns, he wants to arrest people, he wants to detain people for their own safety.” Rather than getting impeached, Savage continued, Obama “is liable to use [Ebola] to gain even more power.”

GOP Congressman: Obama Wants Ebola To Spread So He Can 'Take Control' Of Everything

Rep. Steve Stockman yesterday chatted with End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles, telling the “Trunews” host that President Obama may be delaying the government response to the Ebola epidemic because he wants the virus to spread. Once it spreads, Stockman argued, Obama will use the Ebola outbreak as a justification to declare emergency powers.

The Texas Republican lawmaker insisted that was simply just asking the question: “It’s just bizarre there’s not enough action up front and I’m wondering if that’s — I’m not saying this — but I’m wondering if that’s intentional in order to create a greater crisis to use it as a blunt force to say, well in order to solve this crisis we’re going to have to take control of the economy and individuals and so forth.”

WND Columnist: Obama Might Bring Ebola To America To Cancel 2016 Election

WorldNetDaily columnist Mychal Massie writes today that Ben Carson is right to be worried that the 2016 election may not even take place, warning that President Obama wants to “destroy America” and see to it that “we are being placed in eminent peril by disease-carrying illegal aliens flooding our shores.”

Massie contends that undocumented immigrants may bring Ebola and other diseases into the U.S., arguing that Obama will give “a free pass for illegals who are invading our borders” and offer “safe harbor for those he has to know are infected disease carriers” in order to create chaos in America.

Then, Obama might use the resulting chaos as a pretext to cancel the election, declare “martial law to prevent a run on banks and to allow government-controlled media blackouts.”

Klayman: Obama Must Be 'Taken Alive' For Bringing Ebola To America To Afflict White People

Conservative legal activist Larry Klayman has filed a lawsuit against President Obama for “providing material support and aid to international terrorism and facilitating terrorism” by not implementing a travel ban on people from countries facing an Ebola outbreak.

Health experts have advised against enacting a travel ban, explaining that such a move might actually increase the risk of an outbreak, but Klayman has his own idea as to why the Obama administration hasn’t enacted a ban: anti-white racism.

Klayman writes in his weekly column that “Obama has favored his African brothers over the rest of us by allowing them free entry into this country” and “relegating whites and others who are not black or Muslim to the back of the bus has become an invidious form of reverse discrimination. This was not right when blacks were subjected to this treatment, and it is not right now – particularly given its deadly implications.”

“I do not advocate violence, and I want Obama to be taken alive to be deported and pay for his inadequacies under the rule of law,” Klayman writes. “But he must be forced from office as soon as possible, before all is lost.”

Ex-gay activist Anne Paulk chatted today with Tim Wildmon and Ed Vitagliano of the American Family Association about her work promoting ex-gay therapy. Of course, neither Wildmon nor Vitagliano asked Paulk a single question about her ex-husband John Paulk, the one-time ex-gay leader and movement poster boy who recently recanted and said that he is still gay.

However, Paulk did hint at her former spouse’s announcement in the interview: “You’ve got an entire culture telling you that it’s not only okay to be gay, it’s okay to leave your opposite-gendered spouse and family and embrace a homosexual relationship, in fact we’ll celebrate you if you do that, you’ll be our hero. You’ve got an entire media system with Hollywood and everything else going, ‘Oh, gay people are the best.’”

AFA Warns 'Homosexual Aggression' Has Banned Christians From '7 Common Careers' | Right Wing Watch

In a fundraising email today, American Family Association president Tim Wildmon warns that the list of careers that Christians can hold in America “is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.”

The email lists “7 common careers Christians may no longer hold in America,” which it says includes photography, broadcasting and teaching. Wildmon cites a few cases in which business owners have been sued for refusing to provide services to gay people and have sought broad exemptions from anti-discrimination laws that apply to businesses operating in the public square. He also cites the case of Craig James, who was hired by a regional Fox Sports network before being fired by the national network, which he claimed was because of his “personal religious beliefs.” Wildmon claims that James, who has since been hired by the Family Research Council , is a martyr who has been banned from broadcasting thanks to “homosexual aggression.”

I have posted about some of the instances of perceived persecutions mentioned by Wildmon before but Friendly Atheist, Hemant Mehta highlights and sums up the faulty reasoning behind Wildmon's claims quite well:

In each of those cases, the issue wasn’t that Christians were being too devout. It’s that they were either unable to follow the law or unable to fulfill the obligations of the profession.

When you have a public business like a bakery, you can’t say “I’m not making this for you because it’s for a Bar Mitzvah” any more than you can say you won’t make a cake because it’s for a gay wedding. In those cases, what the Christian business owners are doing is just illegal. Same with photographers and florists and innkeepers. Do your job and treat your customers equally or get out of the business. If you can’t handle customer requests, you’re in the wrong line of work,,,

So Christians are welcome to hold all of those professions in America. The list of opportunities isn’t shrinking for them just because they’re very religious. The only people losing their jobs are the people who refuse to do those jobs properly. Just as it should be.

What Hemant touches on here is what is referred to as "offering a limited menu" based on preference. In other words if you open a business ALL services must be available to ALL consumers. It falls under the general purview of the public accommodation section of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
