I have heard of some bizarre rationalizations used to justify a particular court ruling. A Trump-appointed judge just blocked federal agencies from enforcing part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on the grounds that it would require doctors to perform gender-affirming care, including surgery, on babies. The wild claim is patently false.

,,,[T]he Christian Employers Alliance alleged that the implementation of section 1557 of the ACA was an affront to their religious freedom. Essentially, the suit said that being required to treat patients with gender dysphoria would “[prevent] them from maintaining views and facilities in accordance with their religious beliefs.”

The suit sought to bring an injunction barring the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC) from carrying out their job duties by ensuring transgender patients are not discriminated against. 

Judge Daniel Traynor, a Trump appointee, sided with the Christian Employers Alliance in saying that refusing care to transgender people was an expression of the plaintiff’s religious freedom. 

Traynor’s opinion seems to be founded upon the idea that the HHS will be prosecuting doctors for refusing to medically transition infants.

 So, based a the very false claim that babies are being transitioned, the judge has implied that the Christian Employers Alliance’s religious freedom outweighs transgender people’s right to be treated for their gender dysphoria.

What is despicable about Gosar's actions, the shooter was already identified BUT authorities “had shared no evidence about the shooter’s gender identity. Despite that lack of evidence, Rep. Paul Gosar and others claimed the gunman was transgender. U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, a far-right Republican and major supporter of Donald Trump, tweeted and then deleted a false allegation that “a transsexual leftist illegal alien” was responsible for the mass shooting Tuesday at a Texas elementary school.

Gosar’s tweet came in response to another Twitter user who wondered if the shooter was the type of “trash” who supported Gosar and his ideological allies, such as U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, The Arizona Republic reports.

Gosar responded, “We know already fool. It’s a transsexual leftist illegal alien. … It’s apparently your kind of trash.” The tweet was on his personal account, not his U.S. House feed. In the same vane as Gosar we have MTGs wise words. Given the horrific tragedy of this past week, one would think the truth would mean something to MTG. Apparently not!!

Point one, being transgender is not a mental illness.

This misidentification has been known for at least 24-hours. Long enough that MTG, or her team, to learn she had faulty information that needed correcting. MTG choose to lie instead. This POS should be removed from office.

And NO, I am not defending Ramos' actions. What I am attacking is the mischaracterization of transgender individuals as mentally ill and violent. What I am attacking is garbage like MTG attempting to score points by lying.

This reminds me of the Criminal Minds episode “Open Season” from 2007.

Ethan Schmidt, a 24-year-old right-wing extremist, has announced that he will be “hunting” LGBTQ allies around Phoenix, Arizona during June, Pride month.

In a video recorded by Schmidt and re-posted onto Twitter by the right-wing watchdog account PatriotTakes, Schmidt explained that, during June, he plans on “exposing” the “Satanic Pride shrines for children” and LGBTQ-supportive employees at Target retail stores.

This isn't Schmidt's first threat, Schmidt is a known anti-masker. Far-right favorite Kandiss Taylor received just 3.4 percent of the vote in Georgia’s GOP primary for governor on Tuesday, less than one-twentieth of current Gov. Brian Kemp’s 73.7 percent of the vote. But that isn’t stopping Taylor from refusing to concede and claiming the election was “rigged.”

Taylor, a Trump loyalist who campaigned with the slogan “Jesus Guns Babies” and promised to “stand up to the Luciferian Cabal,” simply believes it’s impossible that she lost this spectacularly.

“We have a national data team working on the 2022 primary election fraud. More will be forthcoming,” Taylor campaign spokesperson Christi Maude told The Daily Beast. “Dr. Kandiss Taylor does not concede.”

“Given that my vote total currently lags my number of volunteers by nearly 20,000, I do not trust these election results and neither should any supporter of either of my opponents or candidates in any other races,” Taylor further wrote in a press release. “It is my opinion that our elections in Georgia have become a travesty spearheaded by the corrupt, organized, willful assault that Governor Brian Kemp, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Attorney General Chris Carr, and gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams have inflicted on our election process.”

Regretfully, it does not sound like this is over. Hopefully it wont take 63 court cases.

The hotel owner who banned Native Americans from her property in South Dakota two months ago was arrested today for assaulting protesters at a demonstration organized by NDN Collective.

Connie Uhre, 75, the owner of the Grand Gateway Hotel in Rapid City, was charged with three counts of simple assault by the Rapid City Police Department for spraying what appeared to be a cleaning agent in the faces of several people outside the hotel.

India urged to ban FGM as women break silence on secret ritual

A group of Indian women who were subjected to female genital mutilation (FGM) as children are calling on the government to ban the ancient ritual, describing it as child abuse.

FGM, which can cause serious physical and psychological problems, is more commonly linked to African countries which have led international efforts to end the practice.

Little is known about FGM in India where the ritual is carried out in great secrecy by the close-knit Dawoodi Bohra community, a Shia Muslim sect thought to number over 1 million.

The campaign is led by Masooma Ranalvi, a 49-year-old publisher who has launched an online petition in which she describes how she was cut as a seven-year-old in Mumbai.

"The shock and trauma of that day are still with me. All of us feel scarred by it. It is there in our psyche," she told the Thomson Reuters Foundation by phone from New Delhi.

"What makes me really angry is that this continues today. What happened to me is history, but why are we doing this to young girls even now? Someone has to speak up and we have to stop this."

When It Comes to The Satanic Temple, Christians Seem to Love Bearing False Witness

CNS, like so many other Christian conspiracists, refused to consider an appeal to equality without coloring it as an assault meant to entirely eradicate traditional norms. In their willful ignorance, anything short of the criminalization of homosexuality is an assault on their cherished, archaic values. Annoying as this is, at least we had used the word “sacrament” in our statements related to marriage; it wasn’t exclusive to same-sex unions. When it comes to reproductive rights, though, we never used the word “sacrament” at all. Still, the word is now frequently attached to us, always in quotes, never with attribution.

For these zealous theocratic Christian “journalists,” it’s not enough to merely misrepresent The Satanic Temple in their own reporting. They must also feign affront and injury should any media outlet have the audacity to consider our actual words. Following any bit of responsible coverage of TST’s campaigns, there is inevitably a barrage of indignant commentary regarding the “liberal media’s” perceived alignment with the Satanic cause.

The Supreme Court Could Hear a Third License Plate Case

Now the Supreme Court has the opportunity to decide yet a third license plate case. In Cressman v. Thompson, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit rejected the claim of an Oklahoma man that he had a free speech right to tape over the image of a Native American shooting an arrow into the sky. Mr. Cressman objected to the compelled display of what he regards as the image’s pantheistic message. The “Sacred Rain Arrow,” based on a well-known sculpture by Allan Houser, depicts an Apache legend of a warrior who shot the arrow to the heavens to ask the gods for rain. However, the appeals court concluded that the image connotes only recognition of the Native American heritage of the state—and because Cressman does not object to that message, the court concluded that compelled display did not infringe his right to free speech.

Last November, Cressman filed a petition for a writ of certiorari from the Supreme Court. As the year ended, the libertarian Cato Institute filed an amicus brief urging the justices to accept Cressman’s case. Then, last week, the Court called for a response from the Oklahoma state defendants—often the first step before the Court grants review to hear a case on the merits.

The immediate issue in the Cressman case may seem quaint or peculiar, but it presents important questions with potentially far-reaching implications. As I shall explain, the appeals court appears to have erred in failing to protect Cressman’s right against compelled speech. Nonetheless, a Supreme Court decision to grant review and rule for Cressman could—depending on how the opinion is written—hold the potential to undermine anti-discrimination law.

According to a Creationist Video, 3 + 3 = 6 is Somehow Proof of God’s Existence

But just because something is abstract doesn’t mean God’s responsible for it. Quick: Think of a unicorn. It’s not really there. That’s not proof of God’s existence.

There is a longstanding philosophical debate about whether mathematics was invented or discovered — but none of that suggests anything about God.

And invoking famous mathematicians who believed in God, like Isaac Newton (who is references in that clip), is just silly. He lived in a time before we knew about genes, DNA, evolution, etc. When you have no answers available to you, God makes a lot of sense. When those gaps start getting filled, though, clinging to the God hypothesis is ridiculous.

No, sadly, the mask of the Sarah Palin so many of us were drawn in by has slipped. Rather than a warrior for conservative principle, we now see the oh-so shallow pool of her conservatism. She could have endorsed literally ANYBODY else running, but she threw her full-throated support behind a man who has said he identifies as a Democrat, has backed single payer healthcare, eminent domain, abortion, and a progressive tax on the wealthy. He has attacked real conservatives, shows a glaring lack of knowledge on most every important issue facing our nation, and covers it all with a gross layer of incivility and arrogance towards any who question him or hold him to task. He is all these things and will be the death of the GOP, or any chance of growing conservatism in this nation, again, if he is not stopped.

Make no mistake. Palin isn’t alone in this betrayal of the ideology she once rode to prominence. Talking heads from Hannity to Levin to Limbaugh have cut the throats of the entire conservative movement, all for the ratings a sideshow freak like Trump brings. Palin’s move, as well as the past few months of fawning, slack-jawed devotion to all things Trump that those who (formerly) enjoyed conservative talk radio have had to endure shows those of us who still value principle over celebrity just how unreliable and self-serving those who would be our “voice” truly are.

“[The government] needs the police and the military to wipe out the liberty movement, and we wipe them out. […] I estimate in the civil war, 300,000 police will die. Therein lay the seeds of his Jade Helm theory. It’s all about the military and the police provoking the “liberty movement” into a shooting war. And now, a year later, shots are actually being fired. What Jones doesn’t seem to realize (or maybe he does) is that this kind of rhetoric speaks directly to the itchy-trigger-fingered militiamen and self-styled revolutionary cosplayers who believe that, yes, the government is going to attack them and seize their weapons, so they should be ready to counterattack. And this is evidently defined as “patriotic.”

In response to the Jade Helm military training exercises planned for this summer, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) will deploy the Texas State Guard to apparently serve as a shield against the Green Berets and other special operations units who, many conservatives fear, might threaten the freedom of red-blooded Americans living in the Lone Star State.

“It is important,” said Abbott, in announcing the move, “that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed upon.”

The subtext is, of course: There’s a decent chance they could be infringed upon.

And so the governor is figuratively wrapping his state in a gigantic tin-foil hat. Abbott’s unprecedented move is one more chilling sign that the gonzo ideas imagineered by radio conspiracy theorist Alex Jones are hemorrhaging into mainstream American politics and beyond.

Jones then proceeded to attack Closing Bell co-anchor Evans with misogynistic language for challenging Paul about vaccines during her February 2 interview. Jones called her "a media whore. Jones concluded that people like Evans (a "dumb lady") are "signing on to a system of murder, you little piece of trash, tramp, filth, scum woman! You arrogant piece of garbage! I'm sick of all you people up there lecturing us. She's the type of woman that wants Super Bowl ads to say, 'Sorry you had a boy.' All a bunch of pinhead cult members."

Jones praised Paul for his vaccine stance, saying he and father Ron Paul "have some basic morals, folks. They know how dangerous the vaccines are. They know what's in the inserts. They're not just going to go along with the system and lie ... that's why I like Rand Paul."

The host concluded his rant by saying "Rand Paul knows what's going on. He's a good guy. He's a listener."

Supreme Court Will Save or Push the U.S. to the Brink

I have watched America’s decline and approach the dark realms of apostasy and reprobation for these last 40 years, but nothing has caused more concern in my heart than the approaching battle to retain marriage between one man and one woman.

One of our nation’s premiere online family advocacy organizations, Citizen Link, has issued a special alert entitled “Supreme Court to Consider Future of Marriage” which outlines the Supreme Courts intention to deal with the issue of whether gay marriages should be recognized throughout all 50 states.

After more than 40 years of the fruit of Roe v Wade and the resulting 55 million deaths of unborn humans we are now on the precipice of another action that will put the cap on our full national reprobation.

Gary Bauer Is Pretty Sure That Martin Luther King Jr. Would Have Opposed Gay Marriage

On yesterday's episode of "The Hagee Hotline," Matthew Hagee interviewed Religious Right leader Gary Bauer about the Supreme Court's decision to take up the issue of marriage equality in the coming term, which Bauer pre-emptively dismissed by asserting that "there is nothing in the Constitution of the United States that says that same-sex marriage is the law of the land."

Similarly, Bauer said, there is nothing in the Constitution that says that abortion should be legal or that public schools cannot open the day with mandatory prayer and Bible reading ... and Martin Luther King, Jr. would agree.

"I think what we've seen is the concept of civil rights being hijacked by all kinds of people who, I believe if Martin Luther King were alive today, he would be mortified by," Bauer said.

King, of course, opposed mandatory school prayer and supported Planned Parenthood, but that didn't stop Bauer from claiming that King would have sided with anti-gay activists in opposing marriage equality.

Truth, Lies and Homosexuality

The Bible is crystal clear about the unnatural and sinful condition of homosexuality, and it also tells us why those in this lifestyle surround themselves with lies and deception. Lifestyles of unrighteousness and rebellion always result in a rejection of truth.

This general point is expressed well in Hebrews 3:13 where we read about “the deceitfulness of sin.” And Romans 1 absolutely nails this, leaving us in no doubt why sin and deception are so intimately connected. In Romans 1:18 we find this: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.”

And in verses 24-27 Paul gives his primary example of this very thing: the sin homosexuality. In v. 25 Paul states that they “exchanged the truth about God for a lie”. Again we find the clear connection between immorality and the suppression of truth.

That is why, when you deal with people flaunting their sinful lifestyles in general, and homosexuality in particular, you will find that lies and deception characterize what they say. They hate the truth, suppress the truth, and exchange the truth of God for the lies of the enemy.

Rick Santorum: Separation Of Church And State A Communist Idea, Not An American One

In a conference call with members of right-wing pastor E.W. Jackson’s STAND America that was posted online today, former senator Rick Santorum disputed the existence of the separation of church and state in the U.S. Constitution, dismissing it as a Communist idea that has no place in America.

A listener on the call told Santorum that “a number of the things that the far left, a.k.a. the Democrat [sic] Party, and the president is pushing for and accomplishing actually accomplishes a number of the tenets of ‘The Communist Manifesto,’ including the amnesty, the elevation of pornography, homosexuality, gay marriage, voter fraud, open borders, mass self-importation of illegal immigrants and things of that nature.” The likely presidential candidate replied that “the words ‘separation of church and state’ is not in the U.S. Constitution, but it was in the constitution of the former Soviet Union. That’s where it very, very comfortably sat, not in ours.”

Of course, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, among others, referred to the separation of church and state when explaining the amendment which they drafted.

Right-wing pastor Paul Blair of Reclaiming America for Christ is not happy that same-sex marriage is now legal in his home state of Oklahoma, and took to BarbWire today to call on state government officials to defy federal court rulings on issues like marriage.

Blair warns that “the republic is officially dead” as a result of overreaching government officials and judges, charging that the courts “have no authority” to strike down Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage.

He writes if the states don’t push back against the judiciary, then people like Judge Terence Kern, who ruled in favor of two lesbian couples challenging the ban, might as well run all state affairs: “Let’s dissolve the state legislature, send the governor home and everyone else saving us at least half of our state’s annual budget. Klayman: Obama Must Be 'Taken Alive' For Bringing Ebola To America To Afflict White People

Conservative legal activist Larry Klayman has filed a lawsuit against President Obama for “providing material support and aid to international terrorism and facilitating terrorism” by not implementing a travel ban on people from countries facing an Ebola outbreak.

Health experts have advised against enacting a travel ban, explaining that such a move might actually increase the risk of an outbreak, but Klayman has his own idea as to why the Obama administration hasn’t enacted a ban: anti-white racism.

Klayman writes in his weekly column that “Obama has favored his African brothers over the rest of us by allowing them free entry into this country” and “relegating whites and others who are not black or Muslim to the back of the bus has become an invidious form of reverse discrimination. This was not right when blacks were subjected to this treatment, and it is not right now – particularly given its deadly implications.”

“I do not advocate violence, and I want Obama to be taken alive to be deported and pay for his inadequacies under the rule of law,” Klayman writes. “But he must be forced from office as soon as possible, before all is lost.”
