A Valdosta pastor is awaiting extradition to Portland, Oregon where he faces several sexual assault charges.

Helio Santiago Ferreira, 41, is in the Lowndes County Jail. Ferreira is the pastor of Grace Fellowship Seventh Day Adventist Church in Valdosta.

Ferreira is facing nine felony charges, including rape, sodomy and kidnapping. The cases go back to 2012, and most recently in 2018.

Sheriff Ashley Paulk said the department helped Portland law enforcement obtain DNA, which linked Ferreira to the sex crimes.

While all of the crimes took place in Oregon, local authorities said they're just glad he is off the streets and behind bars, calling him a 'serial rapist.'

A Shelby County man accused of stabbing, raping and pouring insecticides down his neighbor's throat is also a local pastor with a criminal past.

Memphis police say 58-year-old Norman Hudson forced himself into his neighbor’s home, grabbed a knife from her kitchen and raped her.

The police affidavit said that Hudson hit the victim, stabbed her in the neck and then poured the insecticides down her throat.

He faces charges for attempted murder, aggravated rape, robbery and several others.

A 2018 summer intern at Long Hollow Baptist Church was arrested last week on a statutory rape charge involving a student, the pastor says. 

Pastor Robby Gallaty, who leads the multi-site Southern Baptist church in Hendersonville, released a statement on the incident Sunday and is informing his congregation during morning services. 

"As you can imagine, I am both heartbroken for the victim and angry that this took place. In an effort to be as transparent and open as possible, I want to share with you as much as we can," Gallaty said in the statement.

Kirton Lashley, 57, allegedly had sex with the victim, a woman in her 30s, during sessions beginning in October 2016 and lasting through December at the Beulah Wesleyan Methodist Church on W. 136th St. near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd.

Under the law, a person in the care of a medical doctor or mental health professional cannot consent to sexual activity with the provider. The criminal complaint against him does not describe any forcible conduct.

For more than two years the pastor and patient “engaged in a sexual relationship,” according to court papers.

Homestead priest accused of drugging, raping parishioner | Miami Herald

Father Jean Claude Jean-Philippe, the parochial vicar at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Homestead, has been charged with sexual battery of an incapacitated victim . He remained jailed Saturday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and has been placed on administrative leave while the allegation is being investigated.

According to a police report, the woman is a parishioner at the church, and Jean-Philippe had even officiated her wedding.

In October, the 64-year-old priest invited her to his home on the church grounds, offering her tea. She passed out and after drinking the tea, according to the police report, she woke up naked in his bed about two hours later.

UPDATE:: Hacienda HealthCare to cease operation at South Phoenix facility

Officials with Hacienda HealthCare announced on Thursday that it will begin to transition clients and eventually cease operation at one of its facilities.

"After careful consideration, the Board of Directors have come to understand that it is simply not sustainable for us to continue to operate our ICF-ID (Intermediate Care Facility for the Intellectually Disabled). Thus, we will begin to transition clients and eventually cease operation," read a memo sent to staff members, which was obtained by FOX 10.

In the memo, officials say the transition will be a team effort, and may last many months. Officials also say the company will do everything in its power to help employees impacted by the change to secure employment within its other programs or within the community, and will, in the meantime, work with the state closely to ensure every patient's safety, security, and care.

In interviews and government documents, Nathan Sutherland painted an inspirational image of himself: an abandoned child who grew up with an empty belly in a Haitian orphanage; a doting dad who wanted to help those who had also been dealt a difficult hand.

A Mountain Home, Idaho, priest accused of raping an intoxicated man who was renting a room from him will not face a new trial for now, and the Diocese of Boise says he will not be given any new assignment.

The Idaho Statesman reports that the Rev. Victor Franz Jagerstatter's trial in 2017 was declared a mistrial after the jury could not reach a unanimous decision.

At the time, prosecutors said one juror refused to deliberate the verdict. After the mistrial, the alleged victim was deployed on military duty, and in July 2018, the charge was dismissed without prejudice, meaning there won't be an immediate retrial, but the possibility remains open.

Child marriage bill stalls as groups fight for parents' rights

A bill to make 18 the legal age for marriage in Kentucky has stalled in a Senate committee amid concerns about the rights of parents to allow children to wed at a younger age, according to several lawmakers.

Known as the "child bride" bill, Senate Bill 48 was pulled off the agenda just hours before a scheduled vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee for the second time in two weeks.

"SO disappointed! My SB 48 (outlaw child marriage) won’t be called for a vote," sponsor  Julie Raque Adams, a Louisville Republican, said in a Tweet early Thursday. "It is disgusting that lobbying organizations would embrace kids marrying adults. We see evidence of parents who are addicted, abusive, neglectful pushing their children into predatory arms. Appalling."

Eileen Recktenwald, the executive director of the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs, was more outspoken. 

 "This is legalized rape of children," she said. "We cannot allow that to continue in Kentucky, and I cannot believe we are even debating this is the year 2018 in the United States."

The day of reckoning has come for ex-Compton Unified School District trustee Skyy De’Anthony Fisher, the Compton Herald has learned. The Times of San Diego reported that Fisher was convicted Thursday of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old college student as the victim slept in their shared downtown San Diego hotel room.

The newspaper reported that a jury found 32-year-old Fisher guilty of oral copulation on an unconscious person after less than an hour of deliberations.

Fisher, who was free on bail, was immediately taken back to jail pending a Feb. 29 sentencing hearing, the newspaper reported.

He faces up to eight years in prison.

Bilal Ahmed, who is based in Washington DC, was charged with first degree sexual abuse after the man called police.

Court records allege the offence happened when the victim visited Ahmed's practice, Universal Smiles, to have a tooth removed.

The man was told by Bilal that nitrous oxide was needed to sedate him, it is claimed, and an assistant was there when it was administered.

But when the man awoke the assistant was gone, his mask was askew and the dentist was forcing him to perform oral sex, the documents allege.

He was then escorted back to the recovery room by the dentist, the papers say, and he left Ahmed's office two hours later.

Oklahoma High School Wrestlers Charged with Rape of Boys on School Bus | Advocate.com

Contrary to Theodore Shoebat's thought on the matter, this has nothing to do with homosexuality.  This is rape!!

Two boys on a high school wrestling team in Oklahoma say four of their teammates pinned them down on a school bus and inserted their fingers into the boys's anuses, CNN reports.

The suspects and the alleged victims are all boys. According to the network, Oklahoma City TV station KOCO obtained and reported the name of one of the suspects because he is not a minor. Tanner Shane Shipman, 18, and three minor teammates — two of whom are 17 and one who is 16 — are charged with raping the two victims on a school bus on January 9.


KOCO reported it happened as the Norman North High School wrestling team was returning home from a tournament in Pauls Valley, Okla. The district attorney viewed audio and video from the school bus before charging the students, the station reported.

Shipman's attorney told CNN that his client pleaded not guilty and an attorney for one of the minors said his client was also fighting the charges.

Trio of HS basketball players accused of raping teammate in cabin – LGBTQ Nation

Let's get this correct from the beginning:  1] This incident is not about sexuality, but rape.  2]  This incident was not a "tragedy" but a horrific abuse of power.

Three high school basketball players from Tennessee are facing charges of aggravated rape and aggravated assault after allegedly attacking another teammate.

The school’s superintendent has canceled the remainder of the boys’ varsity basketball team season so a thorough investigation can be conducted.

The incident happened in a cabin on December 22 and involved the three older suspects and a 15-year-old freshman.

Meanwhile, school administrators are still grappling with how exactly to handle the situation.

Superintendent Rick Smith called the whole thing a “tragedy” before canceling the remainder of the basketball season.

Board Chairman Jonathan Welch added that he couldn’t even put into words how the assault has affected the community.

“Tragic, horrific, none describe it,” he said.

Given the group’s policy coordination at the highest levels, are these practices being carried out as an intentional repudiation of an international “year of the woman” argument? Is the group seeking to refute efforts to lionize Malala Yousufzai or champion women’s emancipation even in the most traditional of villages?

Islamic State is attuned to the interests of observant Muslim boys and girls around the world. As it works to recruit young adults and teenagers throughout the West, newspapers have reported, the group has demonstrated a remarkable sense of the languages and challenges of modernity.

So there may also be an official sense among Islamic State leaders that the practice of sexually enslaving Yazidi women would likely disgust and outrage the West and other Muslims. Yet it also challenges modern Muslim youth to think about male sexual gratification in unambiguous warrior terms, and to view Islamic State’s stark society as morally complete in its treatment of others — a society which requires that they must give up “Western” values to join.

The social context may be just as important for understanding this new policy of sexual enslavement. One thing learned from the study of the small religious movements that have sprung up in the West over the past few centuries is the systematic restructuring of sexual relations that leaders have often demanded at an early point in the movement. This may involve group celibacy or polygamy, the exclusive sexual rights of the leader, or free sexual relations. It can often mean dissolution of prior marriages.

Dozens of Yazidi sex slave survivors, including 9-year-old girls, were rescued this week by smugglers from their Islamic State captors following months of brutal rape and torture by their "owners" and other Jihadi soldiers who purchased them at an IS slave market.

"Their fighters pray to Allah before and after they systematically rape Yazidi women and children, including some as young as 9-years-old," said Hadi Pir, vice president of Yazda, a U.S.-based global Yazidi organization, to The Christian Post.

While some Christians had the option to pay jaziya (Islamic tax paid by non-Muslims) to purchase their freedom, most other minority groups such as the Yazidis, who number about 600,000 in Iraq, were specifically targeted and separated for sex slavery.

Basing their slavery system on Quranic verses and Hadiths that govern groups they consider heretics, Islamic State gave the Yazidis only two options: convert to Islam or die. Many victims chose the later.

The systematic rape of women and girls from the Yazidi religious minority has become deeply enmeshed in the organization and the radical theology of the Islamic State in the year since the group announced it was reviving slavery as an institution. Interviews with 21 women and girls who recently escaped the Islamic State, as well as an examination of the group’s official communications, illuminate how the practice has been enshrined in the group’s core tenets.

The trade in Yazidi women and girls has created a persistent infrastructure, with a network of warehouses where the victims are held, viewing rooms where they are inspected and marketed, and a dedicated fleet of buses used to transport them.

A total of 5,270 Yazidis were abducted last year, and at least 3,144 are still being held, according to community leaders. To handle them, the Islamic State has developed a detailed bureaucracy of sex slavery, including sales contracts notarized by the ISIS-run Islamic courts. And the practice has become an established recruiting tool to lure men from deeply conservative Muslim societies, where casual sex is taboo and dating is forbidden.

A growing body of internal policy memos and theological discussions has established guidelines for slavery, including a lengthy how-to manual issued by the Islamic State Research and Fatwa Department just last month. Repeatedly, the ISIS leadership has emphasized a narrow and selective reading of the Quran and other religious rulings to not only justify violence, but also to elevate and celebrate each sexual assault as spiritually beneficial, even virtuous.

“Every time that he came to rape me, he would pray,” said F, a 15-year-old girl who was captured on the shoulder of Mount Sinjar one year ago and was sold to an Iraqi fighter in his 20s. Like some others interviewed by The New York Times, she wanted to be identified only by her first initial because of the shame associated with rape.

In the parking lot the same fleet of Hajj buses was waiting to take them to their next destination, said F. Along with 24 other girls and young women, the 15-year-old was driven to an army base in Iraq. It was there in the parking lot that she heard the word “sabaya” for the first time.

“They laughed and jeered at us, saying ‘You are our sabaya.’ I didn’t know what that word meant,” she said. Later on, the local Islamic State leader explained it meant slave.

“He told us that Taus Malik” — one of seven angels to whom the Yazidis pray — “is not God. He said that Taus Malik is the devil and that because you worship the devil, you belong to us. We can sell you and use you as we see fit.”

The Islamic State’s sex trade appears to be based solely on enslaving women and girls from the Yazidi minority. As yet, there has been no widespread campaign aimed at enslaving women from other religious minorities, said Samer Muscati, the author of the recent Human Rights Watch report. That assertion was echoed by community leaders, government officials and other human rights workers.

A rape survivor in the Indian state of Gujarat is being asked to undergo a "purity test" that involves balancing an 88-pound stone on her head before she can live with her husband again.

Following the rape, the woman was reportedly denied an abortion and then forced to give up the child to the government. Both the husband and wife wish to live together again, but she isn't allowed to unless she passes the purity test.

The test, which is known as "agnipariksha" (meaning "test of fire"), is a cultural tradition in some of India's remote rural areas that requires women whose virtue has supposedly been tainted by sexual abuse or whose chastity has been questioned to complete this unusual and physically challenging stunt. It's unclear precisely how long she would have to keep the stone atop her cranium; her observers would await some sort of spiritual signal to show that she had passed.

These incidents serve as a reminder that retrograde views remain deeply entrenched in some quarters of Indian society, Michael Kugelman, the senior associate for South and Southeast Asia at the Woodrow Wilson Center, told VICE News.

"India has global aspirations and wants to project itself prominently on the world stage, but back home it continues to face challenges that have dogged it for years, including patriarchal mentalities that have damaging consequences for women," he said.

Police seek help in solving male rape case

D.C. police are seeking help from the public in identifying as many as eight suspects reportedly involved in the abduction and sexual assault of an adult male victim in Columbia Heights on Friday evening, July 31.

A statement released by police says that at approximately 8 p.m. on July 31 one of the suspects approached the victim near the intersection of 14th Street and Parkwood Place, N.W., and forced him at gunpoint into a white van.

A police incident report obtained by the Washington Blade says the same suspect and as many as seven other suspects “drove him around” in the van.

According to the report, the victim told police that while inside the van “Suspect 1 through Suspect 5 anally sexually assaulted him against his will and without his consent.”

The separate statement released by police on Aug. 2 says the incident has been listed as a first-degree sexual assault while armed (gun) and a kidnapping.

A police source familiar with how police incident reports are prepared said the hate crime box is left blank when investigators don’t have sufficient evidence that an incident was a possible hate crime at the time the report was made. That assessment could change at any time during the course of an investigation as new evidence surfaces, the source said.

Neither the police statement nor the incident report discloses the victim’s age or whether he identifies as gay, straight, bisexual or transgender.

Although it is an obvious fact, men in the military outnumber women by more than 5 to 1 hence why the "raw" numbers - 12,000/ 6.8% of women (~200,000 total service woman) compared with nearly 14,000/1.2% of men (~1.2 million total service men) - elicit a 53% male victim total

What is ignored is the concerted effort by "military leaders, under pressure from Congress and the White House to eliminate rape from the ranks."  Despite Barber's innuendo, it was not the assaults that were out of hand but the atmosphere has changed.

Another key development: The 2011 repeal of "don't ask, don't tell." Officials and advocates believe the ban on openly gay service members chilled reporting by male victims, gay and straight alike.

Galbreath says the Pentagon's efforts have led to an increase in reports. More than 3,550 sexual assaults were reported during the first three quarters of the 2013 fiscal year, the Pentagon said last month, a jump of nearly 50 percent.

I would rather read an "offensive" article about "sexual identity politics" focusing on an "individual's abhorrent sexual proclivities and his lifestyle choices" than one filled with false interpretation and misleading data presented as truth.

One last thing,

The Washington Times reported on the findings earlier this year, quoting a homosexual in the story who claimed the male-on-males assaults weren't done by homosexuals – that they were more like prison rapes.

Well fucking DUH!! Doesn't matter if you're gay or straight, rape is rape. Rape is power.  It is kind of the whole point in doing the survey and implementing changes based on the findings.

When a man alleged a sexual assault, wrongful sexual contact and forcible sodomy were the charges most frequently investigated.

Military data show that the typical perpetrator is a man who has served longer in the military than his victim and holds a higher rank. In most cases, the assailant identifies as heterosexual.

Roger Canaff, who has trained Army lawyers in prosecuting sexual assault cases, says many attacks amount to a particularly violent form of hazing.

It "isn't necessarily seen as a sexual act," says Canaff, a former prosecutor in New York and Virginia. "It's seen as a humiliating act. It's the ultimate act of emasculation.

You see that in fraternity life, sometimes. You see that in the civilian world. The military has it also."
